CHAPTER 19

AMAZON’S HOUSE.

“So, guys, I made some food…you must be hungry. Let’s have something to eat before we proceed with the project,” Diego said to Kim and Onda.

“You cooked? Really?” Kim asked while he nodded.

“I’m sure you’re going to love it.” He smiles cutely.

“But…I don’t see Verna around,” Onda asked slowly.

“Don’t worry…she went out…for her project too,” Diego replied while Onda breathed in.

“Come on,” he led them to the dining room.

“It’s not much, but you’re going to love it,” he said, pulling the chair out for Kim, who blushed.

They took their respective seats, and Kim wowed on seeing the food.

“It’s pasta!”

“Come on, dig in. I put in some effort to make it perfect.”

“I’m sure it’ll be good,” Kim winked before she started eating.

“What do you think?” Diego asked eagerly.

“It’s… it’s… spicy,” she said, while Onda tasted it also.

“Mine isn’t,” Onda said.

“Ohh…I heard you love spicy food, so I made yours extra spicy,” Diego scratched his ear.

“What? I do?” Kim found herself asking.

“Wait! Did… Jay perhaps tell you this?” Onda asked.

“Ohh… this is embarrassing… I actually asked him for some tips,” Diego replied, while Onda took her gaze to Kim, who had a sour look on her face.

“But are you okay, Kim? Don’t you like it?” Diego asked, noticing her expression.

“Ohh… I’m alright… except for the fact that it burns my throat,” Kim replied awkwardly, while Onda couldn’t help but chuckle silently.

“Eat a lot… I still have more. Or do you want me to add more chili?” Diego asked.

“NO!” she snapped.

“Oh… I mean… it’s spicy enough… Jayden really knows me well; this is just the right amount of chili I needed,” she chuckled forcefully.

“Sure, Kim… eat a lot. You love spicy food,” Onda teased, while Kim gave her a glare.

“After this, we can start the lesson,” Diego smiled, joining them. Onda couldn’t stop smiling at Kim’s misery.

Onda’s phone suddenly started ringing.

“Um… excuse me, guys,” she said, leaving the dining room for the living room.

It was actually a video call from an unknown number. On picking it up, she saw Verna sitting on a bed.

“Verna?” she muttered about ending the call, but then stopped when she heard her say something.

“So tell me… what do you think about her?” Verna asked.

“Why are you asking about her?” a familiar male voice asked back.

“Jade?” she mumbled as Jade came into view, getting on the bed with Verna.

“I just want to know where I stand with you… you guys kssed earlier.”

“That… that was nothing.”

“You don’t know how devastating it was for me to witness you kss another girl,” Verna pouted, while Jade suddenly burst out laughing.

“Why? Did you enjoy it?”

“Don’t kid me… you don’t know how… how torturing it felt. I was trying to forget that. Why did you have to bring it up?”

“It was to.rturing?”

“Come on, Verna… I don’t even want to talk about it… let’s just focus on the project instead.”

“Which project? My project… or the school’s project?”

Verna asked flirtatiously as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Of course…your project,” Jade replied, placing his lips on her neck.

“Of course…my project,” Verna whispered back, smirking at the phone placed on the desk, a little far from them, without Jade’s knowledge.

Onda covered her mouth with her palm, ending the call. So what they shared was torturous. No wonder he made a disgusted face earlier. He must have hated kissing her so much.

“Onda, are you okay over there?” Kim asked from the dining room while Onda quickly wiped away the tears that escaped her eyes. She turned back to them with a small smile.

“I…I think I’ve got to go. There’s an urgency at home,” she said, grabbing her bag in a rush.

“Is everything alright?” Kim asked, worried.

“Don’t worry…I’m sorry I won’t be able to do this today.”

“It’s okay…go, there’s tomorrow,” Diego smiled while she nodded and rushed out of there.

Kim sighed. “She looks worried.”

“She’ll be fine,” Diego said, while Kim nodded.

“Now…it’s just us alone…what should we do?” Diego teased.

“The project…we should get on it now,” Kim said, standing up and leaving the dining area, while Diego stood up and followed her. In a jiffy, he carried her, and she gasped.

“What are you doing, Diego?” She asked, wide-eyed, as he carried her back to the dining table, placing her on it.

“I’ve been holding myself back all day, but now I think I should go for it.”

“What?”

“I really want to kss you badly, Kim,” he whispered, while Kim’s cheeks turned red.

“No kssing…I’m here only for the project,” she cautioned, while he smiled.

“Exactly,” he said, and before she knew it, he captured her lips in his. She gasped into the kss, holding onto him tightly. Her eyes went tightly shut as he kssed her.

She released a sudden gasp, unlocking from the kss when he pushed his tongue through her mouth. Diego gave her a quizzical look for a moment before smirking.

“First time?” he asked, but she kept her head low in embarrassment.

“I feel honored,” his voice came, and she looked up at him, blinking repeatedly.

“Let’s go on a date this weekend,” he said, and she nodded.

“And don’t worry…we can take everything slowly,” he said again, kssing her reddened cheek.

“Diego…” she called.

“Why?” he answered. Kim got hold of his face and gave him a short kiss.

“I like you,” she grinned, while he pulled her into a tight hug.

“I know…and I do too,” upon hearing this, Kim grinned even more.

HOURS LATER…

Jay was already getting ready for bed when the door suddenly opened, and Kim rushed in.

“What the heck! You scared me!” he said, holding his chest, while Kim rushed to him on the bed, hugging him tight.

“Hey_”

“We kssed!” she announced.

“What?” Jay pulled her away.

“I got my first kss tonight, Jay! Gosh! It feels so surreal! I thought I was gonna go out of my senses,” she enthused, holding her chest.

“So…you went there for the project but ended up kssing him?” Jay frowned, while she h!t his chest.

“Who talked about kssing? I only said we kssed.”

“Hey, it usually starts from that!” Jay snapped back.

“We didn’t make out! He promised to take things slowly,” she said, while Jay scoffed.

“Slowly, not a chance. Either way, you two will still get together and eventually become intimate,” he pointed out, causing Kim to blush.

“Hey…you shouldn’t say things like that randomly. You talk as if it’s nothing special.”

“Don’t tell me you’re actually considering doing that with him?”

“I never said I would.”

“But your face says it all. Look at you blushing at the mention of intimacy.”

“Just that… I still can’t believe this is happening. And it’s not a big deal. He’s my boyfriend now… who cares if I take that step with him?”

“Wow…. it’s hard to believe you’re acting this way, Kim! Are you really the Kim I know? I made a terrible mistake.” He shook his head, while Kim just grinned non-stop.
