A gun was pointed to my head as I faced the television which displayed Riley on the screen.
It was kinda live video.
My heart was in my mouth.
It was a matter of life and death but I didn’t care as long as Riley will be okay without me.
“Don’t be nervous,
Just pray that she wins over my daughter else I will kill you “he threatened and my heart missed a bit.
“There’s nothing between us again,
I broke up with her and… ”
“Sssshhhhh… My threats on you got her there,
Let’s just watch and see if he’s going to win”he whispered into my ear with his gvn still pointed to my head.

She wriggled her fingers and then a soft piano began to play from somewhere….

I sneaked into a police station at night,
I was scared but I never softened my courage until I bumped into an officer,
I gasped,
“I’m sorry “I panicked saying and he flashed his torchlight at me.
“Oh my!
What are you doing here? “He asked me and I hushed him,
I looked around.
“You know me? “I asked and he nodded,
“Yes,
Aren’t you Bertinelli’s daughter? ”
“That’s true!
But… ”
“Good you’re here,
I wanted to ask you a question but couldn’t, ” he grabbed my arm,
“Come here”he said leading me into his office where we both sat down,
“I wanted to ask you a question about what you said and re-said about your father ”
I panicked.
“What are you talking about? “I asked nervously,
He sighed and digged his two hands into his hair and then smacked his lips beating his fingers on the table,
“Okay, Is it true that your father klled Mason? “He asked me directly and I was mute for sometime before I nodded my head.
“Yes,
He did”
“Then why did you… ”
“I had to,
My friend’s life was on the line,
He kidnapped my friend and made me say the opposite,
He’s a terrible dad! ”
I voiced out not hiding anything.
But I had a feeling,
A weird feeling tho,
What if my father sent him?
Goose pimples filled my skin.
“So he was the one who klled my friend? ”
I gasped in awe,
“Your friend? “I pointed my first finger at him asking and he nodded his head.
“Yes,

that my friend never died a natural death with his wife!
And he’s out there living all these time… Gosh!! “He swallowed some saliva bowing his head down before he looked up to stare at me once again.
“But… Why are you here or did he send you? ”
I smirked.
“Send me?
No!
He didn’t! “I replied nervously,
“Then are you here? “He asked me suspiciously and I gathered my mind up,
“I came here to help my friend,
My long time friend tho,
I felt like I owe her alot so… ”
“Who’s your friend? ”
He snapped at me and I took my time replying.
He’s a cop and they have issues with trusting people all the time.
“Riley,
She’s my friend and I can’t believe my dad had a hand in her family’s…. I need her dad’s file!
I came to steal it!
I want to know why my dad had to kll him.
Why he had to…. “I stared into his eyes so he would see how sincere I am.
He sighed.
“Case file?? “He asked me after sometime and I nodded nervously,
“Yes! Seen it before?? ”
“Of course!

But, his office got burnt down two after his de..ath was announced”.
I sighed in dissapointment,
What am I to do now?
What was my dad hiding that made him kll him?
” … I don’t think he was walking on any important case that can…. ”
“Did you find out? “I asked him and he shook his head.
“Mason was a very secretive person Yunno “he shrugged saying and I nodded my head.
An idea popped into my head after ten minutes of silence,
“You know,
I have an idea and I want you to help me out”
“What exactly? ”
I brought my face closer to his so as we could whisper…..
