Next morning,
I yawned getting out of bed and straight to my kitchen to make some food for my breakfast,
With the kettle filled with water,
I placed it on top of my gas and turned it on.
I digged my hands into my hair sluggishly and headed to the bathroom to get my teeth brushed and wash myself up.
I came out twenty minutes later with a towel tying loosely around my waist,
I reached for my kitchen where I turned off the gas and then added the boiled water into my cup,
I made some hot coffee and sipped on it as I headed to my room to get dressed.
Immediately I came in,
I heard my phone ringing,
I took my time heading to it before I held it in my hands checking the caller,
It was Rudy,
I picked up,
?What’s wrong?
I asked immediately,
?Carson,
Are you at home?
I need you to come over to…
?No,
I rebuked even before she could finish what she was saying,
I’ve told her several times to stop inviting me to the house,
For God’s sake!
What am I to do there?
To see who and who?
?I have a surprise for you,
?What surprise?
?Till you come over?
?I’m not coming over,
Nothing will make me do that,
I heard her mumbles from the other end,
?What if I tell you that Riley is here,
?That’s a white lie,

I became serious with she was requesting of me.
?You think am joking?
Riley is here!
?Thats not true!
I rebuked rushing to my wardrobe to get my clothes.
?Come and see for yourself then,
She hung up.
Though,
I was doubtful,
I knew Rudy won’t joke with matters like this.
And if she’s trying to prank me,
Am gonna skin her alive.
But I was nervous.
What if its her?
My heart began to pound for no reason,
What if its her?… I asked myself once more.
What am I gonna say to her?
I wore my belt and then put on my sneakers,
I grabbed my car keys…. Learnt how to drive five
months ago tho.
I rushed out of my house.
Soon,
I was on the highway and in the next thirty minutes,
I found myself driving into my dad’s residence,
Somewhere I hated to come to,
The memories of my past always haunted me each time I set my foot into this house.
I breathed in and out before opening the door softly with my eyes searching into the room.
Oh my!
My eyes met Riley,
She was laughing with my mom being the joker,
And she was eating too,
It was then I noticed that there were bodyguards all around the house.
My heart beat rapidly,
What am I gonna say?
How am I going to act around her?
I summoned up a little bit of courage and then made my way into the house,
It was then everyone noticed my presence in the house,
“Hi! “I cooed referring to Rudy even though I meant to give that *Hi* to Riley.
I looked away from her gulping when I noticed that she had her eyes on me.
She looked extra ordinarily beautiful!
She look so neat and well cultured.
She stood up coming close to me and my heart missed a million times.
She stood infront of me and the next sound I heard on my cheeks was a hot slap greeting my face.
I turned my head immediately to look at her face when I felt the pain,
She sI.apped me again,
She even reached for a cane which my mom gave her and she whipped me all over with it.
“Ouch!
That hurts!!
Ouch!
Stop it!
Ouch!
Riley!!
Stop this?!! “I yelled running about as she kept whipping me with that cane of hers.
“Stop! “I yelled grabbing her arms as we fought for who will own the cane,
I over powered her and threw the cane away,
She began to pvnch my chest with her fist,
I held her hands with mine and I noticed her rage,
“It hurts right? ”
“Like h’ll! “I replied grumpily and she scoffed,
“I want you to feel half of the pain I felt!
I want you to feel how I did! ”
“I… ”
“Don’t speak to me! “She interrupted yelling at me,
“I never said you shouldn’t make peace with your family!
Did I?
If you hate me… ”
“I don’t hate you… ”
