Chapter Fifty Five

GRACE POV

“Get out, I don’t need your thanks!”.

I frowned and glared at him.

What the he.ll is wrong with him? I was just thanking him, right? Then why the he¢k is he angry?!

“You should learn to less rude, alright? Stop being cold”.

“I can be whatever I want to be, it’s not your business and you’re the one being rude, you interrupted my peace!”.

My face squeezed into a more tighter frown as I sent holes into his skin.

Jeez! What is this? Does he get mood swings or what? One minute he is nice and the next minute he is cold and rude. What is wrong with him?

“Well Mister, I only came to say thank you but I guess it was my mistake. You don’t deserve it anyways”.

“Oh really?”.He dropped the novel he was reading on his desk, flashing me a toothy smirk. “You amuse me puppy. First you interrupt my peace, bringing in your troubles in the name of thanks and secondly, you clearly told me in my face that I don’t deserve it. Wow! How nice of you…. And if you don’t mind, the door is waiting for you, you can leave”.

The way he said this in a clam tone fired bullets into my body making me fume in anger.

Gosh! Who does he think he is? Dylan, the quiet devil? Little wonders he feels all proud of himself because people respect and fear him. How ridiculous!

I gritted my teeth and began walking out of the class but his next words make me snapped back at him.

“Ahh! Finally”.He had breathed out seeing me walk away and I took some steps back to him feeling angry. All the fears I felt for him vanished instantly.

“You are just ungrateful Dylan, so ungrateful and I regret wanting to say thank you to you. You don’t really deserve it”.

“Wow! Calm down Puppy, remember your heath? No hard feelings”.He said this mockingly, his smirk going wider and wider.

“Don’t ever call me that again. My name is Grace, if you can’t pronounce it, it’s your lost not mine”.

“Oh, my bad. What should I call you then? Gish! I don’t like your name but I can call you something that start with G, right? Yep, lemme try Goat. Wow, hi goat, you are annoying me, please get out!”.He was clearly enjoying the way he was taunting me cause he did chuckled after he said that.

“That is not funny”.I groaned, forgetting all I wanted to do at this hour.

“It was funny to me, if it wasn’t funny to you then it’s your problem not mine or perhaps you’re deaf, that might be the reason why you didn’t consider it as funny cause you didn’t hear me”.

Okay now I was boiling in anger or rage? No not rage, just anger.

Gee, I couldn’t understand why he was taunting me. It is my fault that I stopped by to tell him thanks for saving my life.

I was only trying to be grateful, I didn’t know he was gonna behave like this.

I sighed, taking breaths after breaths just to reduce my anger. I wouldn’t let this guy spoil my mood – Never.

“Let’s end this, Dylan. I don’t know why you’re taunting me”.

“Taunting you?”.He faked surprise. “Am not taunting you, besides you started all of this. If only you had gotten out of the class when you wanted to then we both wouldn’t be here exchanging words”.

“No, you are wrong. You started all of this when you said get out, I don’t need your thanks. That was rude, I believe anyone would have flare up if that was said to them”.

“Anyone? Tsk… Not anyone, just you”.

“What?”.I was confused.

“If I had said that to anyone here, they would have disappeared before I blinked my eyes”.

“So, what are you trying to say?”.

“That you are too stubborn and yeah, I was taunting you and it was fun, don’t you think so?”.

I frowned again, my anger resurrecting.

“Taunting me? You think that was fun? You think taunting people is fun? You are so wrong”.

“Am right”.

“Huh?”.

“Yeah, am right and you’re wrong. You’d enjoy it, didn’t you?”.

“W…What?”.

“My taunts. You enjoyed it”.

“What?”.I scoffed, biting my lips to suppress my annoyance. “You are unbelievable”.

“I am? Wow! What a complement”.

I folded my lips not knowing what else to say. I was tongue tied, he got me tongue tied.

“I…….”.

“Grace, you….”.Kyree paused as he walked into the classroom. I was sure he was surprised seeing me standing in front of Dylan, a bit close to him.

“Grace, you never came to the cafeteria, I had to come get you”.And that was when I remembered that he told me to join him at the cafeteria today. I forgot.

“Um sorry, I forgot”.I sent Dylan a short stare. “But can we go now?”.

“Y…yeah, we should”.He held my hand, sent Dylan a glare and walked out of the class but as soon as we were out, he stopped walking and faced me.

“Grace, what were you doing with Dylan?”.

“Huh?”.

“What were you doing with him? I saw you standing close to him, it seem like you both were having a conversation”.

“No no, we weren’t having a conversation”.

“Then why were you standing close to him?”.

“Arr….”.

“You can’t form anymore lies, huh?”.

“Kyree please”.I crossed my arms on my chest, frowning. “Why is having a conversation with Dylan so bad?”.

“Because he shouldn’t be talked to”.

“Why?”.

“Jeez! Are you seriously asking me that question? Don’t you know who Dylan is? He is bad, wicked, evil, cruel, inhuman….”.

“Kyree stop please!”.I suddenly felt offended. “How can you give a human being, a young person all this qualities?”.

“Because that’s who he is. Haven’t I told you he chopped off a girl’s fin…..”.

“Am tired of hearing that, okay? Dylan chopped off this, Dylan chopped off that, do you think fingers are carrots? Have you ever thought about why he would do such a thing? No, never, all you guys do is just to conclude”.

“Grace….”.He looked surprised. “Why are you defending him?”.

“I… I am not defending him. Am just saying what I think”.

“Grace”.He took a sigh, a deep sigh. “Do you like him? Do you like Dylan?”.

I paused, my tongue tied.

“You like him, don’t you?”.

“N…..”.

“It’s alright, you like him I know and am sorry for talking bad about him”.He looked sad, his eyes were glassy.

“Ky…..”.The bell rang, cutting me off.

“Oh, our lunch is over. How bad of me to have interrupt your conversation with him, am so sorry”.

“Kyree…..”.

“But we are still friends, right?”.Even the smile on his lips looked fake and forced.

“Stop interrupting me, Kyree!”.I pouted, annoyed. “I don’t l..love Dylan, you misunders….”.

“You are lying Grace. I mean who wouldn’t fall for that guy, he got the looks”.

“I…..”.

“Goodbye Grace, we’ll talk later on phone”.He left and I ruffled my hair, feeling frustrated. Why wouldn’t he let me complete my words, he just keeps cutting me off.

“Hi”.A plump blond haired guy came into view with a smile on his lips.

“Hi”.I responded, staring at the guy. I recognized him as one of those boys running their rotted eyes lustfully on Angela when Jeanann ripped off her shirt.

“Am Judas and you must be Grace?”.

I rose my eyebrow at the name ‘Judas’. Isn’t that the name of the person who betrayed Jesus Christ? Why then did his parents name him Judas? Maybe to betray someone I think.

“Yeah, am Grace”.

He smiled and without saying anything else, he walked away.

That was quite strange – I thought and scoffed before going to class.

School closed for the day and after checking if my school materials were in place, I hung my backpack on my shoulder and exited the classroom.

“Hi”.The plump boy, Judas blocked my way and I frowned, feeling disturbed.

Who is he? Why is he disturbing me?

“Hi Grace”.He smiled but I didn’t reply, he sensed my annoyance and his smile slowly wiped off.

“Oh! Am sorry if am disturbing you but it isn’t my intention… Actually, the principal Mr Bryon seeks for your attention. I don’t know why though but you should come fast, am sure your driver must be waiting”. He smiled, walking away and I followed after him wondering why the principal wants me in his office.

Does he want to tell me something? Have I done anything wrong?

“You don’t know the principal’s office, do you? Cause this isn’t the right wa….”.

“Shut up, you fool”.He spat out and I stopped walking immediately, feeling confused and surprised.

We weren’t in the midst of people any longer, we were just alone in school field.

“What did you say? I don’t under….”.

“Really? Wow, so cute. The princess doesn’t understand English anymore”.He smirked, licking his lips as he stood closer to me, caging me.

I knew that instant that something was wrong. This didn’t look like the plump blond guy who always expresses a smile.

“I would have liked to take a taste of this tempting lips but that ba$tard would complain of his time being wasted. So go to sleep now and do sure remember to wake up in he.ll”.

I wanted to speak, to ask him what he was talking about but before I could make a sound, his fists collided in my face and in no time, after struggling with his punches, I dropped to the cold ground of the field unconscious.
