Chloe’s pov.
We got to the hospital and Annie sprinted in leaving me behind.
I tried catching up with her but when I realize I couldn’t, I gave up.
I got in and looked around in search for Annie but couldn’t find her.
I sighed frustratedly and stood in one position looking awkwardly.
I finally saw her with a doctor and I went over to meet them.
They were heading over somewhere and I went with them.
They got to the front of the Doctor’s office and the doctor looked at me questionably.
“She is with me” Annie told her and he nodded and made us enter his office.
We sat down when he sat opposite us.
“So how is she?” Annie asked, she sounded impatient.
“Thankfully, she is out of danger now…” he was saying.
“You said she moved her hands..does that mean she would wake up?” Annie asked hurriedly and I held her hand to calm her down.
“Yeah. She only moved her hands but she isn’t fully conscious. She would wake up soon.” The doctor assured.
“Soon, Like when?” Annie inquired.
“Just calm down okay? Your friend would be fine. I can assure you before the end of this month, she would I wake up”
“Can I at least see her?”
“I’m sorry. No. Till she is fully conscious” he told her and she nodded disappointedly.
“Oh okay..I will come over tomorrow” Annie said and stood up.
She left the office while I followed after her. I have a little idea of what’s going on.
I still needed more explanations.
Annie walked over to a door and looked at it with a sad look.
I needed no soothsayer to tell me this is where camille is admitted.
“What happened to her?” I asked softly
Annie said nothing for a while and finally muffled a silent ‘Wake up soon, Camille’
Then she turned back immediately and I rushed after her.
When we got outside, Annie sat in the bench outside the hospital and I sat beside her.
It was night already. Annie started talking.
“That night after we left the concert..” she hesitated before continuing.
“The driver of the cab we entered was unfortunately a maniac. He was driving at a really fast speed and we were like shouting for him to slow down but the idi®t wouldn’t listen. I suggested we jump off the cab..”
I interrupted her. “Jeez! That’s dangerous!”
“I know right but I didn’t know what to do at that moment. Everything was happening so fast and unfortunately, the cab ran into a moving truck and that was it..”
“Camille and I both went unconscious and was saved by a woman who took us to the hospital. I woke up but Camille unfortunately went into coma” Annie said sadly.
“That was why your number wasn’t going through” I said.
“Yeah. I don’t even know where my phone is. I lost everything! Even the vid but that’s fine! All I care about is camille . She wasn’t making any attempt to wake up so the doctor suggested we fly her to England.”
“Wow! This is too much. I’m so sorry this has to happened. It was all my fault” I said bowing down my head.
“What?”
“Yeah. If I hadn’t invited you to the concert. You would have been fine. Nothing would have happened. No accident! No nothing. I have always being the cause of everything” I said as a tear slipped off my eyes.
“Now camille is in there battling with her life”
Annie turned me to face her. “Chloe. Common stop this! None of this is your fault okay? You don’t have to blame yourself. Camille would be fine” Annie assured me when though she was weak herself. She is just trying to make me feel better whereas she is dead worried about camille.
“I hope so” I sniffled
“When camille wakes up, you are going back to New York?” I asked.
“He.ll No! We are staying here permanently. Going back means going back to that mon$ter!. I’m not even sure we would win the court case so I’m just going advice we stay here. By the way, why are you here?” She asked.
“It’s uhm a long story” I answered.
“You can shorten it you know?” She told me.
“I will tell you about it later okay..”
She made to talk but the sound of my ringing tone stopped her. I brought out my phone and checked the caller’s ID. It’s Harry.
I picked it and placed the phone on my ear looking at Annie.
“Chloe, where are you?” He asked worriedly.
“I just went out”
“To where? Chloe, you don’t know your way around here. Where the he.ll did you go to? And the fk! It’s late. Just tell me where you are right now, I would come pick you up” that was Harry being over protective as usual.
“Says someone who doesn’t know his way around too” I teased.
“Chloe!” Harry called.
“I’m coming home now. Okay?” I didn’t wait for him to talk before cutting the call.
I then faced Annie.
“That was my brother” I told her.
“Your bro is here too. Now I really want to know why you are here” she said.
“I promise to tell you later okay? Let’s go home” I said and she nodded getting up.
I did same too and we stopped a taxi heading home.
We got home some minutes later and Harry was standing in front of the door moving impatiently.
“I guess I would see you later” Annie said to me.
“Let me introduce you to my bro” I offered.
“Uhm..another time. Bye” she waved and walked off to her house.
I walked towards Harry. “I told you I would be fine.” I said rolling my eyes.
“And where were you?” He asked.
I didn’t answer and went right in. He entered too closing the door behind him.
“The girl you saw with me now is the Annie I told you about” I started sitting on the couch.
“Ooh” he uttered.
“And well, I was kind of wrong. She wasn’t really running from me. She is just worried and bothered and doesn’t want to talk to anyone.” I said.
“Oh really?”
“Yepp. I well followed her to the hospital when I saw her this evening.”
“And?”
“The camille I told you about, they both got into an accident and while Annie woke up, camille fell into coma” I said and my eyes widened at the h®rrific look that appeared on Harry’s face.
“What!”
