Arabella would have gone after Gerald if the study door hadn’t opened to reveal John who gave her a smile.
She wondered how Fiona knew the truth and it turned out to be John doing.
“Am sorry that I let him. I didn’t want to at first but knowing that he is a business partner of the boss. I let him in”Mrs Milly explained herself.
“Its okay. If you don’t mind, I would like to talk to him alone”Arabella said and Mrs Milly left them alone.
“Why did you tell Fiona the truth? Why did you do it?”Arabella asked.
“She’s my daughter and she deserves to know the truth”John replied.
“I doubt that your only gain in all this is to get her to know that she’s your daughter. Your after something else right?”She asked and he nodded.
“You might think the worse of me right now but I came to tell Fiona the truth and also to get you to see that there is hope for us”He told her.
“Hope? What hope is there for us now that she hates me?”Arabella yelled at him.
“She’s just shocked about the whole thing with due time she will acknowledge us both as her parents and for us to make that happen. We’ve got to get married”He said.
“Married! Are you ¢razy!”Arabella shrieked out
“What Fiona needs right now is both of her parents and that is you and me. Just like I told you last night.
I like you and I want you in my life with my daughter”He told her.
“That can’t happen. I don’t like you John, I respect you as a colleague and a friend and nothing else.
You should know that Gerald and I are together now”She said to him.
“And who cares about that? Your daughter should come first for you and the only way you can make it up to her now is by being with me her father”John demanded.
“I knew you would try to seize this opportunity!” Gerald said suddenly and he would have marched straight towards John to lash out his anger if Arabella hadn’t stood in front of him.
“Why shouldn’t I do that? For the first time in my life, I get to have a family of my own and I won’t lose it!”John said infruiating Gerald the more.
“Just stop this and leave John! “Arabella said as she stood in front of Gerald not wanting him to do something crazy.
“This isn’t over. Fiona and Arabella will be my family and I mean it”John added as he left the house.
“You should have let me beat some sense into him”Gerald told her.
“And make things worse. Hell no”She replied.
“And how is Fiona?”
“She doesn’t want to see anyone now. She believes that we all betrayed her.
Let’s give her some time to think”Gerald told her and she nodded in reply.
It was late in the evening when Arabella went to knock on Fiona door.
She didn’t want to speak to anyone except for Mrs Milly whom she allowed to enter her room.
“Fiona we have to talk. Please let me in” Arabella begged as she kept on knocking.
“Leave me alone!”She heard Fiona yelled from inside.
Knowing that it wasn’t still a good time to talk to her. Arabella went ahead to Gerald room where she found him busy with work as usual.
“Shouldn’t you take a rest yourself? You were also working with me during the shoot” She said as she walked towards him to help him massage his back.
“The rest I have in mind is different from what you have in mind”He told her.
“If it’s a rest that can help the both of us then I suggest you get it” Arabella told him and got out of his seat to pull her into his arms.
“I know that I should be trying to comfort you at this time but here I am having dirty thoughts in my head”He told her.
“Your dirty thoughts might also comfort me in other ways”Arabella said before she kssed his waiting lips.
