Chapter 25
(God only gives happy endings…..)
Levi sat waiting with baited breaths as the door to his office opened, and Jinro Sato walked in. He had a small smile on his face, as he gently closed the door.
“Good day Levi.” He greeted softly as he took his seat on the couch.
“Anything the matter Jinro? This visit is sudden.” Levi asked cooly, breathing slowly so as to control his anger.
Jinro Sato smiled cynically.
“I’m here to talk about my daughter.”
Levi’s breath hitched.
He had gone straight to the point.
Levi relaxed on his chair.
“What about her?” He asked casually.
Jinro Sato gave him a knowing smile.
“You should be ashamed of yourself Levi. Prancing around a girl when you’re old enough to be her father.”
Levi grit his teeth.
“Probably. But I’m NOT her father.”
Mr Sato’s eyes widened, then narrowed in realization.
“Ah. I see that Rika must have spilled the beans. How unfortunate.”
Levi’s hands were balled into fists. The man showed no signs of remorse. He had to control himself. Getting angry or reacting right now wouldn’t do anything to help Rika.
Mr Sato smiled dreamily at Levi and sighed, folding his arms.
“Hm. I can’t expect you to begin to understand Levi. No one really can.”
“She’s your daughter for God’s sake. Your daughter.” Levi stressed out, his lips curved into a scowl.
“Exactly. So I can do whatever I want with her. Levi, you are a mature man aren’t you? You do realize that once love comes, it doesn’t matter who it is. Things like age, blood, become trivial in the face of that great emotion. You know that don’t you? After all you’re in love with her too. I can see it in your eyes.”
Levi narrowed his eyes at the man before him.
“Love doesn’t do something that is wrong, and deliberately hurt other people. You’ve tortured your daughter for thirteen years. That’s not love. You’re just a sad excuse for a human being.”
Jinro Sato laughed lightly. “As I said. You wouldn’t understand. But you have to face it Levi. You and I are one in the same. I love her. More than I love my own life. It’s that simple. It’s everyone else in the world that makes it seem complicated or wrong.” He paused. “I was going to wait you know, at least until she got older, before professional my love to her. But I just couldn’t keep it in any longer.” He said wistfully, a dreamy look on his face. He then frowned.
“Where is she Levi? I know you know. You’re the one giving her false hope aren’t you? You’re the one polluting her mind against me, to the point that she’s ignoring my calls again.”
Levi gave him a cold glare.
“Go to h.ell.” He muttered.
Mr Sato giggled excitedly. “See what I’m saying! Has she seen this side of you? This person that is so cold and cr.uel. Look at your eyes! I bet if you had a gun you would mu.rder me right now! Haha!” He burst out, but Levi remained silent.
“I will still find her you know. And she’ll come back to me. She might tell you otherwise, but she loves me too. And she enjoyed everything we did together. She’s mine.” He said firmly, then began to head out the door.
“See you in h.ell, Levi.” He said softly, then walked out the door, leaving Levi shaking in anger.

Rika lay on the bed in the guest room at Hunter’s mansion. The sun was setting slowly, casting a beautiful glow on the sky, but it brought no comfort to her heart.
It had been three days since she had confessed everything to Levi, and they hadn’t spoken since.
She knew he was hurting for her, and probably feeling too guilty to speak to her as well, but she honestly didn’t have the strength to reach out to him again.
She had cried so much these past three days, she was surprised she hadn’t used up all the water in her body.
Everything was falling apart.
She was falling apart.
She had thought that by finally revealing things to Levi, she would get some comfort, and it would make things easier, but no.
Something was still missing. Infact, she was in more pain now than she had been since the beginning of her miserable life.
She wanted to give up. It seemed like the easiest and most logical thing to do now. I mean, when you can’t win a battle, and those you rely on aren’t there for you the best thing to do is surrender, right?
‘Just go. In the end, dying is the only way to really end all your pain. Levi was your last hope. But he isn’t here is he? He can’t even face you. There’s no hope for you. A happy life? Maybe if you had another life you would be happy. This is your fate, your destiny. The only way to end it is to die. There’s nothing left for you in this world.’ A small, persuasive voice whispered in her head.
She was powerless to fight the voice. She had battled it for so long. Now she simply had no strength left in her.
She got up robotically, and headed for the kitchen.
Hunter was out with Joy, and Mrs Slaving was at the office.
Except for the maids, she was all alone in the mansion.
She made her way into the kitchen and peeked in. Thankfully it was empty.
She walked in and grabbed the sharpest knife she could find.
She wanted it to be swift and painless.
She placed the knife on her wrists, but then she hesitated.
‘Do it. Don’t be a coward. Once you do it, it’ll all be over.’
The voice urged, persuading her.
She sucked in a breath, and pressed the knife against her skin, and she felt it begin to cut.
Just then, she heard a voice booming loud from somewhere in the house.
“He said come into me, all you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. My yoke is easy and my burden I light. These are the words of our savior Jesus Christ for someone out there tonight!”
She followed the voice, and came to the living room.
The television was tuned to a gospel station, and a man was ministering on the podium. She had no idea who had turned on the TV. She was alone and no maids were in sight.
“What have you been going through? I may not know, but God knows. Trust me. He hears, He sees, and He loves. Don’t give up on God, cause he won’t give up on you. Where is the pain in your heart? Where is the burden of your soul? Where is the hurt of your spirit? He wants you to lay it all on Him. He didn’t create you to fall by the hand of the dev!l. He created you to be strong! And when you aren’t strong enough, He is here to be strong for you! He hasn’t forgotten you, nah nah, why would He forget the one He loves the most? He loves you more than anything, allow Him to show you. More than man could ever love, more than man could ever hate, more than man could ever hurt, His love supercedes all. The biggest lie the dev!l can tell us is that God doesn’t care. Or that He hates us. Or that we aren’t worthy of His love. But nothing on this Earth, not wind, or rain, winter or summer, man or be@st, can separate us from the love of God. He hasn’t abandoned you. Right now, if you believe, He’s waiting at the door of your heart. Won’t you let Him in?”
The tears were already dripping from Rika’s eyes before she could even process that she was crying. It felt as if the man on the TV was speaking directly to her.
Her legs gave way and she collapsed to the ground in a heap.
Where was God when she needed Him?
Had He really always been there?
If she called out to Him now, would He answer?
She began to scream like a mad woman.
“GOD!!!!!! I’M SO TIRED!!!! I NEED HELP!! I NEED YOU!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!! I WILL LET YOU IN!!! I CAN’T DO IT ON MY OWN!!! I NEED YOU PLEASE!!!” She screamed over amd over again, rolling on the floor, till she lost her voice.
The voice urging her to kill herself had gone completely silent.
When she had worn herself out, a sudden peace enveloped her, one she couldn’t put into words. She immediately knew who it was from, and fresh tears flowed from her eyes.
She sobbed and sobbed for the rest of the day, locking herself in her room and telling God everything. She spoke to Him like a child, confessing and begging and crying, and she didn’t eat that night either.
Her spirit was too overwhelmed.
Along with the peace came newfound courage, and Rika dialled Levi’s number on her phone.
“Hello, Levi? I think I’m ready to face my father.”
