Anastasia’s pov ?
LA city hospital….
“Wait a sec, I wanna calm down before I go inside” I said to Matilda.
We’re currently outside Denzel’s ward, I’m still shaking from the information Tilda just gave me.
I thought I’m fine, since I’ve been laughing and interacting with people as before… but hearing Jack’s name just seem to prove me wrong.
“Tasia, Tasia..breathe with me” Tilda said.
She turned me to face her, I nodded and she started.
“Follow my instruction, breathe in…breathe out.. breathe in.. breath out…”
I followed her rhyme and soon, my breath became stable.. I feel myself not shaking anymore.
“Are you ok now?” She asked.
“Yeah.. I think so!” I replied in a firm voice now.
She smiled, she pushed some hair strands away from my face.. she grabbed the door handle and pushed the door open.
We both stepped in, aunt’s back is facing us as she concentrated on packing their bags… Denzel noticed my presence and breaks into a very wide smile.
“Anna!” He exclaimed excitedly as I approach him.
He got up and jumped off the bed into my arms, luckily I caught him in time.
“Den, how many times will I tell you it’s dangerous to jump like that?” I scolded him.
He simply laughed and shake his head. “Anna, don’t worry, doctor Hemsworth already said I’m normal again”
I grab his left cheek and pulled it gently.
“That isn’t an excuse for you to do stunts!”
“Anna, give that boy a break, I haven’t let him get out of bed since yesterday” aunt said.. now facing me.
She carried Denzel from me and throws him on his bed.. making him land in a soft thud.
“Good morning, aunt Bell” Tilda greeted her.
“Good morning, dear.. how are you doing?” Aunt asked her.
“I’m fine aunt, what about you? Are you doing ok?” Tilda asked.
Aunt smiled at her and sent me a glare.. then turn to her again with a smile.
“I’m fine, darling, thanks for caring.. unlike some uncaring daughter I have!” She gritted the last part out.
I rolled my eyeballs, just because I greeted to Denzel first today, I’m uncaring…what a dramatic aunt God gave me!
Matilda laughed and pass me a look, she walked towards Denzel and sat on a couch next to his bed.. they both started talking about something I don’t know.
“Right.. aunt, is Denzel getting discharged this morning?” I asked.
“Yeah, we’re leaving by 11:30am” she replied.. I nod.
“In that case, I should go sort out the discharge papers…”
“There’ll be no need for that, Nicklaus already sort it out this morning” aunt cut me off.
She walked towards her bag, she pulled out some papers and hands it to me.. I take a quick glance at them.
“How did Klaus get this done? He haven’t left his office since morning!” I think out loud.
Aunt taps my shoulder lightly.
“That is what money can do, my dear!”
I find myself nodding in agreement, rich men always knows when and how to use their money.
Aunt snatched the papers from me, she studies my chest with a frown on her forehead.
“Aunt, are you ok? Is anything the matter?” I asked.
She reached out and poke my breast, I feel slight pain and hissed quietly.
“What’s wrong, aunt?”
“I should be asking that…are you pregnant?” She asked.
I know I’m not pregnant, but her question made my blood run cold and I paled.
“Pre-pregnant?!” I asked her back in a shocked voice.
She nod and repeated her words “yes, are you pregnant?”
I released a nervous laugh and shake my head.
“That’s not possible, Aunt.. I’m not pregnant!”
Her frown deepens, she held my arm and examines me properly.
“But you look different.. your breasts are fuller than before..” she pokes them again. “.. you also look chubby now!”
“Aunt, that doesn’t mean I’m pregnant.. I just skipped my diet, that’s why I’m adding some weight recently!”
Aunt narrowed her eyes as she continued studying me.
“No, I’m sure of what I’m saying.. did you forget what I told you before?”
I shake my head, from the corner of my eyes, I can see Denzel and Tilda laughing at me.
“I always tell you, getting married as a virgin is a woman’s joy and pride… ”
Ugh! Here we go, another earful.
“…. premarital s£x is sweet and young people these days don’t see it as a bad thing… but it’s against God’s arrangement for couples, just walk the streets, there are many pregnant unmarried young girls… ”
At that moment, I feel arms encircle my waist.. a familiar cologne hits me and I instantly know who’s this.
I feel his hot breath on my neck as he placed a soft, warm kiss there…aunt quickly turn away from us.. I smirk.
Finally, I’m saved! My hero came at last!
“How is my baby doing?” He whisper in my ear.
“I’m fine” I whisper back.
“Matilda sent me a text, she said you weren’t yourself since you heard about Jack’s break out”
He knows I don’t want aunt to know about Jack’s case, so he asked me this in an extremely low voice.
“I’m fine now!” I replied.
He nod and lifts his head, his arm still firmly wrapped around my waist.
“Aunt, good morning!” He greeted aunt.
Aunt scoffed. “They’re both perfect for each other.. at last he finally recognized my presence!” Aunt grumbled.
“That’s not true, Aunt.. I just missed Anastasia!” He kissed my cheek again.
Aunt made a disgusting face and walked towards the packed bags, I feel Klaus rubbing my stomach with his right hand.. but I ignore cause I’m kinda enjoying it.
“It’s already 11:14am, I think we should get going…I can’t wait to sleep on a real bed!” Aunt said.
“Yeah, me too!” Denzel said.
“As if you’ve been sleeping on the floor since we’re here!” Aunt retort.
Denzel simply pouts his lips and made a funny face at aunt, I laughed silently.
I moved away from Klaus and stepped forward, I carried one of the bags.. Matilda carried another while Klaus carried the remaining two bags.
Denzel climbed down the bed and aunt took his hands, Denzel looked towards the door.
“Isn’t doctor Hemsworth gonna see me off?” He asked.
“Of course!” Doctor Hemsworth replied from the door.
He rushed in and went to Denzel, he squats to his level and hands him a small box.
“What’s this?” Denzel asked him.
“Candies!” Doctor Hemsworth replied.
Denzel’s eyes light up, you can clearly see the excitement in his eyes.
“I can finally eat candies again?”
“Yeah….”
He cuts doctor Hemsworth off with a hug, his tiny arms wrap around doctor Hemsworth’s body.
“Thank you, doctor, I love you!”
“I love you more, champion!” Doctor Hemsworth said.
Denzel unwrapped his arms around doctor Hemsworth.. doctor Hemsworth got up and smiled at us.. well, he avoided Klaus’ gaze.
“Thank you, doctor, this wouldn’t have been possible without your efforts!” I said.
He shake his head. “It’s my job, and also blame it on this boy for making me fall for him!” He joked.
We laughed.
“All the same, thank you” I said.
“Thank you so much, doctor” aunt also chipped in.
Doctor Hemsworth smiled, he gestures us towards the door.. and we head out after waving him.
“Doctor Hemsworth really tried for us” aunt said. “He love Denzel as if he was his son!” Aunt praise him.
Klaus is busy scowling at every word of praise that proceeded out of aunt’s mouth.. I know he’s mad at doctor Hemsworth because of Rhoda.
“Stop frowning, you’ll get old sooner than expected!” I told him.
We stopped by his car, he opened the car’s boot and we put all the bags in.. he rushed to the passenger’s seat and opened the door.
“Anastasia, come sit here!” He said.
I nod and walked towards him, I slide into the passenger seat and he shut the door… He goes to the back and opened the door, aunt, Matilda and Denzel all got in and he shut the door too.. before coming to the driver’s seat.
“Where’s Graham? Why didn’t he drive you?” I asked as I fasten my seatbelt.
“I assigned him on other things!” He replied.
He leaned forward and check if my seatbelt is strong enough, before he starts the car and drives off.

“We’re here!” Klaus said.
He pulled up in front of a small yet portable apartment, though it’s not big but it’s beautiful from the outside…this is exactly the picture Tilda sent to me.
I turned back to her and give her a thumbs up, she winked at me.
“My beautiful lady, please step out” Klaus said, holding the door open.
When did he get out of the car? I stepped out and walked towards the boot, I opened it and brought out all the bags.
Matilda and Klaus came and carried them inside, I closed the boot and carried the last bag inside.. aunt and Denzel already went inside.
“Anna, you did a great job.. I love this place!” Aunt said.
Matilda and I exchange looks, aunt thought I found the apartment myself.. we both laughed.
“Ok… aunt, Matilda will help you settle in, Anastasia and I have somethings to do and discuss…”
We have something to do?! I give him a questioning look.. but he’s not looking at me, he’s facing aunt.
“… we’ll take our leave now”
Aunt nod. “Ok, go on, we can manage here!”
Klaus grabbed my hand and pulled me out with him…he opened the car and I got in, he quickly rounds it to the driver’s side.. he opened it and got in too.
“You said we have something very important to do… what’s that?” I asked.
“Oh, it’s about today’s gala, you should dress up properly and show everyone you’re the future Mrs Statham!”
I rolled my eyeballs and leaned back on the seat, I hold my seatbelt as Klaus drives into the road.
“Can I refuse to go?” I asked.
Today many prominent people are gonna be at the gala, I’ll feel so left out.. like I don’t belong there.
“You can’t refuse, you very important that you must attend it!”
I frown. “Why is it important?”
“Because tonight’s gonna be the most interesting night of your life!”
“How do you mean?” I asked.
He stared at me and smirk, I frown deeply at him… wondering why he’s smirking.

Authoress’ pov ?
In a dark alley, sounds of gunshots are heard.
Bullets flies as the two gangs shoot at each other furiously.. one gang have Jack with them and the other is trying to snatch him.
They continue shooting, those that are fast are dodging bullets from getting hit.. some howls and groan in pain, falling down since they can’t move further.
Soon, it’s just remaining the guy holding jack from the other gang.. he’s trapped since everyone from the other gang is pointing their guns at him.
“Retreat or I’ll shoot him!” He said.
“Hand him over and we’ll spare you!” Someone from the other gang replied him.
He shake his head and continue taking slow steps backwards, his gun pointing at Jack’s head.
“We don’t have this time we’re wasting.. boss is waiting for us!” One of them said impatiently.
He aimed his gun at the guy’s leg and shoot him.. the guy let go of Jack and falls down, howling and groaning in pain as he holds his leg.
“Quick! Grab him let’s go!”
Two guys from the gang grabbed Jack and they ran out of the dark alley, towards their van.

Dr ghost’s pharmacy…
“Boss, we have him now!”
Mr Lopez heard one of his boys report, he laughed and got up.
“Bring him in!” Mr Lopez said.
“Yes, boss!”
He walked out and within a few minutes, he and two other guys walked back in with Jack…a sack was wore on his head.
“Here, boss!”
Mr Lopez walked towards Jack, he stopped in front of him and ripped the sack off Jack’s head.
Mr Lopez studies Jack’s face, he smiled. “You have a handsome face.. too bad it’s gonna get damaged soon!”
Jack glared at him.
“Who are you?! What do you want from me?!”
Mr Lopez chuckled.
“For someone whose life is laying on a thread, you’re bold… too bold!” He said.
“Don’t think you can make me talk, I won’t say anything!”
Without hesitation, Mr Lopez landed a punch on Jack’s nose, Jack groan as he heard his nose make a crack sound.
“You dared to defile my daughter?! How dare you?!”
He landed another punch on Jack’s face randomly.
“You’re gonna tell me why you did it? And who ordered you to do it…also where they’re hiding!”
Jack glared at him again, he laughed mockingly.

Mr Lopez nod, he stared at Jack and smirk.
“Get me my whip, this is going to take a while!” He said to his boys.
