Chapter 106
Her glare was really intimidating.
Alexander might have been a troublesome individual, but there was still a glimmer of goodness within him that didn’t warrant his demise.
“I fail to comprehend why you feel sympathy for him after he attempted to harm you,” Martin muttered, but she overheard him.
“Why are you so cold-hearted? Didn’t you feel even a shred of pity for him?” Evelyn asked, and Martin scoffed.
He was growing increasingly angry.
“He tried to kll you, Evelyn, so why should I pity him? He can perish for all I care,” Martin stated, and Evelyn huffed.
“This is what I despise about you, Martin. You’re so heartless,” Evelyn said, and Martin scoffed again.
He pushed her off his body, rose from the bed, and left the room.
“Martin, I’m sorry,” Evelyn apologized, but he had already left, causing Evelyn to roll her eyes.
“Damn you, Evelyn,” she muttered, covering her mouth.
Martin sat in the living room, watching TV. He was still seething with anger and decided to give her some space.
He felt a hand on his shoulder, causing him to jolt up in surprise and turn around, only to see that it was Evelyn.
He scoffed and returned his attention to the movie. Evelyn chuckled and sat on his lap.
He didn’t push her away, but she kept her focus on the movie.
“You can be such an angry dog,” Evelyn remarked, but Martin didn’t even glance at her.
“I’m truly sorry, darling,” Evelyn said, and Martin rolled his eyes.
“Please,” she pleaded, giving him puppy eyes, and Martin smiled.
He couldn’t resist her cuteness, and her charm was irresistible.
“Who could resist those puppy eyes of yours?” he said, and Evelyn burst into laughter.
“I’m so tired, and it’s rather dull in here. Let’s go out, please,” Evelyn suggested, and Martin sighed.
“Okay, let’s get ready.”
Haris sat at the dining table, eating, when he heard a knock on the door.
He glanced at Ava, who was playing with his brother, and rolled his eyes.
Since Evelyn was staying at Martin’s house, Ava had been staying with them.
Although she missed her sister, she was delighted whenever she saw Haris’ brother.
He opened the door and his eyes widened upon seeing her.
“Elizabeth?” he called out, surprised, and she simply waved.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, and she frowned.
“Am I not welcome?” she inquired, raising her eyebrows.
“Of course. Please come in,” he nervously chuckled, and Elizabeth smiled before entering the house.
“I was passing by, and I remembered you telling me your address, so I decided to pay you a visit,” Elizabeth explained, and Haris smiled, gazing at her.
