Episode 6
“I can’t believe ,Mrs Damien would bring a blind girl into this mansion and still tell us to treat her like a queen ,that she clearly isn’t ,Jackie said ,she was one of the cooks in the mansion .
The mansion had a total of 50 workers ,there were 10 gardeners ,3 drivers ,2 gate keepers ,5 cooks ,20 guards , and 20 maids respectively .
“You are right ,I mean if the boss saves an helpless child, they will be taken to the orphanage ,or brought here to work by choice and get paid, but why would she bring this one here and ask us to treat her like a queen. This shouldn’t be the first blind person she has ever saved , it’s just so confusing , Stella ,the other cook agreed to what Jackie had said earlier so did Rosa who nodded her head in agreement as well.
“Maybe , it’s because of how beautiful and innocent she looks , that’s why the boss likes her ,Rosa suggested.
“Beautiful my foot , Jackie replied .
“Oh come on Jackie , you know you are just jealous and feeling insecure, you and I Know that our beauty are nothing compared to that blind girl ,so please enough of this issues let’s prepare dinner before madam gets back, Jon chipped in , she had been listening to their conversation for a while and could only detect jealousy from their tones .
“Oh please Jon, don’t try to act like a saint here ,who told you I am jealous ,why would I be anyway,I am more beautiful than that bitch , and you know that ,you are just as blind as that girl , Jackie retorted .
“Watch what you say about me Jackie , cause I won’t hesitate to deal with you right here ,right now , Jon fired angrily .
She has always hated Jackie, for her proud and rude nature. Jackie was the chief cook while Jon was the assistant, because of their great cooking abilities.
“You all must be forgetting ,that the same place that girl came from was the same place we all came and no one is an exception.
Just because she is being treated differently doesn’t mean she is different from us, none of us here knows what she had been through. Coupled with the fact that she is blind, put yourself in her shoes, Jon said almost in tears, and walked out of the kitchen heading to her room .
Yes room ,not quarters , chief workers had separate room from the normal workers .
“Maybe ,you were a little too hard on her Jackie ,Rosa said.
“Of course not ,Jon is just an emotional fool , don’t let her stupidity get to you , let’s get to work , Jackie replied .
Meanwhile , Tania and Miranda sat in the garden discussing about Ariel. She had already cleaned her up while Jon had prepared her lunch as instructed by Tania.
“This is strange , and kind of disturbing , Tania said .
“I am confused as well ,but Mrs Damien would have a good reason to why she brought her here to be treated specially , Miranda replied .
“Jerald ,will be returning in a few months time do you think she brought that girl home as a wife for her son , Tania asked .
“Never , Miranda suddenly yelled .
“Woah , girl easy it was just a suggestion ,I didn’t say it was the real reason , Tania said trying to reduce the tension .
“Don’t make such a stupid suggestion ever again ,why would you say that , Jerald is mine , everyone in this building knows that. And why will she want her son to get married to a blind girl. She said she was her daughter so I think she is going to adopt her and not get her married to her son cause I won’t take it at all, Miranda stated.
“Alright ,sorry for the stupid suggestion it will never happen again ,but come to think of it aren’t you too old for Jerald , Tania asked .
“Of course not ,I am not that old just 20 , after all age is just a number , Jerald will be 18 in a few months time ,why do you think he is returning home , Miranda asked.
“He is coming home for his birthday ,wow that’s so great ,it’s been a long time we saw …. Tania was about to complete her statement when the sound of a car horning caught their attention .
They both sprang up and rushed into the house to coordinate the workers. Tania coordinated the cooks while Miranda seeing that the house was neat rushed up to stay with Ariel.
She got into the room but didn’t find Ariel and immediately panicked ,she checked every hook and cranny of the room but couldn’t find her .
‘oh God , madam will surely fire me ‘she thought .
She rushed downstairs to Tania who was now assisting the maid yo arrange the table.
“Tania , Ariel is missing ,she whispered with her heart pounding .
“What ,how can Ariel be Missing , Tania suddenly screamed , unaware that Mrs Damien was already walking in,untill they both heard her angry voice .
“What do you mean she is missing ,Mrs Damien asked immediately .
All the maids shook with fear ,Mrs Damien could be very nasty when she is angry ,they could all be fired .
“Ma’am , I can explain , Miranda said trying to explain but Mrs Damien wasn’t ready for any of it .
“FIND HER NOW ,Mrs Damien yelled .
