“Just a mere looking Ashley, you don’t want to be in school today. Am I right?” Fredrick asked as he drove in the parking lot.
“Maybe.” I rolled my eyes.
“Exactly my point. Obviously, you don’t want to, why? Is there something bothering you that you haven’t told me?” Fredrick and I alighted from the car.
“Many shts I can’t even deal with…”
“Is it about aunty?”
“Part of it, but she isn’t really the reason why am like this though. Uhuum,” I puffed air and sighed as we headed to the class. “I have to figured Kennedy out before is too late. I don’t know how I’m gonna do it but one day I know I’m gonna visit Pedro’s casino.”
“What the heck…” He exclaimed. “Anel had told me everything I need to know, you cannot go there, the sounds of the place seems dangerous. Ashe, look at me.” I stopped walked and staring into his eyes. “We are gonna get through this okay?”
“But…
“I know you’re stubborn. Can you just listen to me once. I’m here now so we can do it together, but this isn’t the right time.” I threw my hands in the air and sent a short smile.
“Okay I gave up.”
“Hey Ashley.” Myra called out. I abruptly turned back.
“Btch!” I scoffed and faked a smile. “Hey Myra, how are you?”
“A aah I’m fine, actually I thought you ain’t gonna wait. Thank you.” She panted softly.
“Of course not, we are friends now so why would I do that to you.” She tried to hold my right hand but I shove it off and quickened flashed a fake smile.
“Oh that, Hi.” She waved her hand at Fred while he returned with a smile.
“Hi.”
“My g©sh! You’re handsome.” She stretched her hand forward for a handshake.
“Should I take that as a compliment? Well I’m quite flattered.” He shook her hand and felt uncomfortable.
“I’m Myra and you are?”
“I’m Fredrick, Ashley cousin.”
“Okay guys can we save the boring story for another day please.” I separated her hand and held Fredrick’s hand.
“Oh yeah.” She ran her hand through her hair and smiled embarrassedly.
“Let’s go Fredrick.”
“Since you’re going to the class, mind if I join you?” She uttered.
I felt like killing her instantly. “We don’t mind. Come on we are getting late.”
Fredrick! “Sure you can tag along since that’s the only thing you know how to do, stalker” I mumbled underneath. We headed to the class.
The door opened and we stepped in. Myra sat on her seat while Fredrick was still looking for a new seat.
“Oh who’s that Greek God?”
“Another Mr handsome.”
“Wow! His eyes are so beautiful.” I rolled my eyes as students murmured while staring at Fredrick.
“We are not an ordinary people, we will always look different.” I whispered in his ear and he chuckled.
“You think so.” He whispered back.
“Of course, once I clock twenty I’ll be giving another award of the best beautiful face. We are special dude.”
“Standing here isn’t gonna help, I need to find a place to sit… Maybe I should join Myra.”
“Don’t you dare. Follow me.” I held his hand as we walked toward my seat. Gabriel was reading a novel, Final Justice.
“Oh hey, how are you Gabriel?” I smiled and he glanced up.
“What do you want?” He asked and faced his novel.
“What are you trying to do Ashe?” Fredrick asked and I sent him a ice glare.
“Ouch! Okay I’m not here for another trouble Gabriel. I’m sure we are cool right?”
“Have you lost your mind? Is this really you? What has come over you? What happened to your sassy attitude?”
“How to answer that…
“You’re weird.” He dropped the novel on the desk and focused his gaze on me.
“Thank you.”
“Are you all right?” He asked a bit surprised by my acting.
“I’m pleasure. So let me be straight forward, I, I want you to stand now and join Myra at the backseat.” I patted my lips together waiting for him to speak up.
“Are you kidding me?”
“What are you doing Ashley?” Fredrick whispered in my ear and I rolled my eyes.
“Wow! I think he’s her boyfriend.”
“What’s gonna happen now?” Students murmured.
“What do you mean?” Gabriel asked eventually.
“I want you to leave this seat, you should find another seat or if you don’t mind you can join Myra anyway.”
“And you think I’m gonna do just that?…
“I hate repeating myself again.”
“Would you just cut the crap. You know what? I’ve had enough of your madness why don’t you find an empty place and stop being bossy like a btch.”
“Should I show you how btch behaves? I yelled and tried to hit him but Fredrick held my hand.
“Ashley… Stop it.” I sighed. “I’m sorry pardon her manners. She didn’t mean to hurt your feeling please I’m sorry.” Fredrick apologized.
“Fredrick.”
“Shout up. What has come over you Ashe. I’m just gonna sit at the back ” He walked away.
“Pss.” I inhaled deeply to calm my Nevers. I sat down and hit the desk with my books. “Did you see what you’ve caused? I hope you know who you are dealing with.” I said but he didn’t respond.

I sat around the poolside after swimming. I removed the glasses and dropped it beside me while watching others swimming.
“you can see without your glasses?” Someone asked and I turned back. It was the guy with Ashley back then.
“I guess yes. Hey.” He sat beside me and dipped his legs inside the pool.
“Hi, I’m truly sorry for what happened early. Trust me Ashley isn’t always like that. I must say this she’s the most lovable lady I ever see.”
“Wait, are you her boyfriend?” I asked out of curiosity.
“Don’t be ridiculous, I’m her cousin so I know everything about her. She’s not always like that and I hope you’re gonna forgive her for what she had done.”
“Well I’m already used to her sassy attitudes. She’s just rude to everyone. She doesn’t make friend, most of all she shuts everyone out whenever she gets a chance.” I muttered.
“I don’t have to tell you, why don’t you find out yourself. Trust me you guys might later get along.”
“Maybe next life. It would never happen.”
“You think? Okay next lesson is gonna start in the next five minutes. Let’s go.”
“You haven’t told me your name yet…”
“What a dimwit! I literally forgot. I’m Fredrick.”
“I’m Gabriel, it’s a pleasure meeting you.”
“Me too.” He smiled.
I picks my glasses and we went to the change room before heading to the class.
We met Ashley in the class. She focused her eyes on the ceilings. “She’s weird.” I mumbled but Fredrick heard me.
“Not really.” He patted my back before walked toward his seat. I sat down and opened my backpack that was when I saw her Gold diary.
“Hey.” I called out hut she wasn’t answering. “Ashley.”
She didn’t respond rather she chose to ignore my calls. She didn’t blink nor move. I zipped up my backpack without taking the diary.
“Weirdo.” I muttered underneath.

After listening to the voice, I still couldn’t get why my instinct was telling me it’s Ashley. Definitely Ashley.
“So what do you think Mrs Winston. Could it be your voice? I’ve heard a lot about you, you’re the only woman that possesses this kind of powerful voice.”
“I’m sorry you’re wrong. I’m pretty sure there’s someone out there, like the person that sang this song. I’m not the one.”
“You know what I need to find the person that owns this voice. Please help me Mrs Winston.”
“Mrs McGregor I wish I can help. But that person offended you in any way?” I asked. I wondered what troubles Ashley has caused again.
“No… My son kept having some Strange dreams about this anonymous singer.”
“Really?” She nodded. Could it be his son is Ashley… Oh my gosh!
“I’m gonna talk to Ashley, she might be the one but I don’t think so. Ashley hates sings, she once said to me that mustn’t give her any music instruments for her birthday gift whereas I was planning to give her one.”
“What if she is?”
“I don’t really now. I’m still curious why the anonymous singer kept showing up in his dreams. It’s quite weird.” I chuckled.
“Yes I found it strange too, I think they have some connection.”
“Absolutely you’re right.”
