I was dumbfounded for awhile. She gasped when she saw me, she abruptly moved away from Pedro and adjusted her dress.
I’m not surprised that she’s here, it’s exactly what I expected but not today. I never planned for this to happen. How I wish mummy was here, it’d make it easier for me because her power lines on her words.
“Wow! Neddy you are really here? What’s wrong?” I planned to use some of my tricks on them and I hope it works.
“Did you know her?” Pedro asked her as she eyed him sternly.
“Oh my gosh! What are you doing in this dangerous place Ashley? You shouldn’t be here.” She stood up and ambled toward me.
“Yeah but I have to, my friends and I played a game… Did you know dare or die games?” I asked while she lifted a brow.
“Nope.”
“Well, well it similar to truth or dare but quite different. If you’re dare to do something but you refused, you’d be giving a red card which symbolizes death, it’s either you jump from a tower or you kill yourself by hanging.” Oh my I couldn’t believe I really framed up a lie.
“Really?”
“Yeah really, if I lose to anyone here then… A aah, can you keep a secret aunty?” I asked almost in a sober voice.
“Sure but please don’t tell me it’s what I’m thinking.”
“I’m gonna kill myself, that’s the rule so I must win their boss and use his stamp and the red coin for an evidence.”
“Oh my gosh! How can you be this reckless Ashley?”
*I don’t think she’s here because of me, she’s not stalking me right?* I heard her thought.
“You know what? I’m gonna help you, this is not my first time here.”
“What are you doing here if I may ask aunty?”
“I’m doing everything to save my son, I have to raise enough money for his surgery.” She wiped her crocodile tears and I smiled inwardly.
“You should have tell me from the start, I thought Odette promised to give you the money right?”
“But it wasn’t enough for the surgery, I can’t tell her the actual amount… I don’t want to be a burden to her so that’s the reason why I’m still here.”
“But gambling isn’t the right choice, it’d make you lose you money if you fail. Don’t worry I’m gonna give the money but on one condition…” I chuckled.
“Okay.”
“You have to quit coming here and promise me you won’t tell dad or mum.”
“Pinky promise.” She stretched out her pinkie little finger and I crossed it with mine. “Pinky promise made.” We chuckled.
“Excuse me, are you going to keep me waiting?” Pedro called out.
“We are sorry. You go first Ashley, good luck.”
“Fools.” I mumbled underneath.
I drew the chair backwards and sat down. Pedro rubbed his palms against each others.
“I’m going for $65,000 first.” I said while he nodded and dropped his on the table. “Well this is not my first time playing this game so I think I’m going to win the game.” I added.
“Good luck then.” Yuck! His voice was deep and his face looked scary with different scars.
I picked three cards, I rolled it in my hand and used the opportunity to switched the cards.
“What was that?”
“I’m asking lord to be with me throughout the game, I’m not ready to die not when my mummy needs.”
“Seriously? Didn’t anyone tell you that there’s no mercy here? I won’t be easy on you young pumpkin.” Immediately he said that and I burst into tears, I kept sniveling as tears streamed down my face.
“Sht!”
*what’s she doing?* Neddy asked herself.
“Please, please.” I fell on my knees and clasped my hand together. If i don’t get your stamp and your red Coin then I’m done for, those motherfukers are going to kill me.
“Stop sniveling or you’ll get a cold. Okay fine.” He hit the table furiously and walked into a room he returned with the stamp and I quickly brought a plain book out of my backpack. He collected it and stamped it because returning it, he dipped his hand into his pocket end handed the red coin.
“I’m pretty sure your friends are going to change the coin into real money. There you go and one more thing, I don’t want to see you here again. The next time you step in here, you’d be punished.”
Exactly, if anyone was able to get the Red coin then is like you just got a rare treasure owned by a deadly weapon (assassin) Anel research work ?
“Thank you, thank you uncle.” I embraced him and patted his back. “Thanks for saving a live.” I let go of him and bowed.
“Since I’m gonna give you the money I think we should leave now. I swear odette would literally kill me and dad would be damn worried about me.” I said quickly and rushed out without waiting for Neddy.
I grabbed my phone and sent a text message to Fredrick.
? Don’t show up Fred, we are going meet up at home bye. I sent and switched off my phone.

Anel and I stood out waiting for Ashley and Fredrick to arrive. I’m really scared right now. I couldn’t tell kyle the truth, I had to stopped thinking about something for awhile because of him.
“Anel I’m going there now if she doesn’t show up after 30 minutes.” I was terrible because it was past 10 pm in the night and my only child was yet to come home.
“Calm down Odette, she’ll be fine.” A car drove in. Anel and I rushed toward it, Fredrick alighted from the car without Ashley and I almost stumbled to the floor.
“Get hold of yourself.”
“Where is my daughter?”
“She’s on her way, I guess she met Neddy in the casino. They should be on there way now.” I sighed then kyle cars drove in the mansion.
“He’s back.” I mumbled and watched him alighting from a car.
“How many time did I tell you never to leave my daughter all alone?” He sneered at her bodyguards and driver.
“We are sorry sir.” They chorused.
“Kyle, where is my daughter… She’s not picking up my calls, I’m scared nothing must happen to my daughter. Our only child.” I faked my tears and hugged him as once crying on his shoulder.
“She’ll be fine okay?” Shortly, mom and dad arrived (Mr and Mrs Winston)
“How can you be this reckless kyle, Odette? Where is my granddaughter?” Mom asked. “And you Anel? What are you still doing here, you must do something and bring my granddaughter home safely.” She added.
“Should I tell them the truth?” I pushed Anel gently with my shoulder.
“No.” She replied and looked away immediately.
“Kyle our daughter…please do something.” ? he pulled me closed to himself.
“Have you heard from the police yet?” Dad asked.
“They’re still looking for her.”
“Wait Odette! Neddy isn’t home… Could it be she kidnapped my daughter?”
“Who’s Neddy?” Mom inquired.
I gestured kyle to keep quiet. “Nothing mommy, Neddy is Ashley personal maid, she informed me before living the mansion. She should be with her son in the hospital right now.” I lied.
“Is there something you’re hiding Odette?” Kyle asked in whisper.
“Me? Of course not…
The flashung light of a car interrupted us as I quickly rushed toward it. Ashley alighted from the car with a red eyes. I was scared seeing my daughter in tears. Did anything happen?
“Mummy.” She ran to me and hugged me. “Don’t worry am fine.” She whispered in my ear and I had a sigh of relief. “Mummy, my legs hurt and my back.” Neddy alighted from the driver seat and I lifted a brow.
“What happened honey?” Mom asked engulfed in a warm embrace.
“Dad I’m sorry.” She rushed to him. “A car was trailing me, I tried to call you but my phone died. I thought I won’t be seeing you again Dad… I’m sorry.”
“What? What do you mean?”
“They, they, they tried to kill me.” She stuttered then burst into tears.
“Odette, your daughter is a drama queen.” Anel whipered.
“I almost freaked out, I felt terrified.” She almost fell but kyle held her before she could.
“We have to rush her to the hospital now.” Kyle announced and everyone quickly hopped in their cars. I joined kyle in the car as i kept caressing Ashley’s face, she has messed up her hair.
“Kyle…”
“Uh…huh, I don’t even know what I’d do without her.” He ran his hand through his curl black hair frustratedly and I felt guilty.
“I’m sorry.” I mumbled.
“It’s not your fault. I’m sorry too, it’s my duty to watch out for her. I’ll be the one to drive her to school and pick her up in the evening.” I held his hand almost in tears.
“Dad.” Ashley muttered.
“Baby.”
“I’m sorry.”
“For what honey? I’m sorry for being careless,are you hurt in any way?”
“My legs hurt.” She said as her tears fell on my hand. Kyle wiped her tears and pecked her forehead. The car came to half, he carried her into the hospital while we all tagged behind him.
“Mum can you please tell me what’s happening? I don’t understand anymore.” Fredrick asked and I stopped.
“Ashley is perfectly fine, she’s just pretending if kyle get to know about what we did… I don’t know what’s going to happen.” I said. “Let’s go.”

“Hey Neddy, how come you’re with her?”
“She made use of someone’s phone to call me. So I have to rush down there.” She said reluctantly. “She told me that I’m gonna get her something this evening so when I called her she was crying and I asked her why she was crying but her phone died,that’s the reason why she used someone else phone.” She sighed.
“Thank you very much but you ought to call me immediately.”
“I’m sorry sir.” She bowed a little.
“The doctor came out of the ward. “She wants to talk to her mommy alone.” He said.
“Okay.” I didn’t wait for anyone’s approval before rushed in.
“I’m sorry mummy, dad was scared right?” I nodded. ” I met Neddy and Pedro together and you know what it means? I have to do something so I want you to do something. Erase Neddy memory please.”
“Did she hurt you?”
“Nope I’m perfectly fine, that was just an act up drama. My legs ain’t hurt.”
“Your eyes are red…
“Crocodile tears nothing more. I’m famished mummy.” Her stomach grumbled and she giggled.
“Okay I’m gonna get you something to eat. Kennedy is Neddy.” I muttered.and stood up.
“Then my instinct was right.”
“Yeah honey. I love you, be careful next time.”
“I love you too Odette.” I pecked her hair and headed out.
“What happened?”
“She’s hungry Kyle, I need to go home now.” I kssed him before heading out with Neddy.
