Ashley scuffed out of the elevator to the living room. Odette, Frederick, Anel and kyle were present.
“Oh baby, are you okay?” Kyle moved towards her and helped her toward a sofa. “Here you go.” He mumbled.
“Thanks Dad.” She returned with a warm smile.
“The police will be here soon…
“Dad I’ve told you to let it go. Those kidnappers only want our money nothing more and what matters now is I’m okay.” Ashley muttered and rolled her eyes.
“Yes kyle I think we should let it go for now, I don’t think Ashley remembers anything. Or do you?” Anel frained while Ashley nodded. Odette gasped, she expected her to say no.
“Dad I remember something, They were clad in all black… One of them was six feet tall, hmm I didn’t see their faces because I ran before they could reach where I was.” Ashley said and Odette sighed.
“Are you sure?” Kyle enquired while Ashley nodded.
“Yes, dad I think I’m having a spitting headache. My head hurts.” Ashley planted her palm on her forehead and closed her eyes. Odette stood up at once and rushed to her even though she knew it was a prank but to make it real she has to play along too.
“Uh…huh, should I call the doctor now?”
“Aunty I’ll get her drugs.” Fredrick uttered heading to his room instead ?
“And you don’t want me to do anything?”
“Dad I’m fine, mummy I need to be in my room now.”
“Sure honey.” Kyle looked at Anel then Odette before looking at Ashley.
“Wait! Why am I feeling like you are hiding something, and you Odette? You know what I’m talking about right?”
“Anel is gonna help you to your room honey, you should kip I don’t want you to fall sick baby.” Odette pecked her hair as Anel walked towards Ashley and helped her to her room.
“Kyle I’m not really hiding anything, I’m gonna tell you everything once the time comes.”
“I knew it, you have to tell me everything right now. Did you know about what happened to my daughter?” Odette pouted her lips and shook her head vigorously.
“Nope.” She pouted out.
“It’s all right. So how about kennedy she left the mansion this morning, did you know about that?”
“Yeah, let her be for now. I want her to strike before I retaliate.” Odette moved closer and hugged his right hand to herself.
“I don’t seem to understand you anymore Odette, you’ve changed.”
“Yeah I’m no more your naughty wife right? Come on…” Odette tickled him as kyle was trying his best not to laugh.
“No that’s not what I meant Odette…
“Kyle, my darling.” She kept kissing his face while tickled him. She climbed on the sofa and hugged him to herself.
“Stop it Odette.”
“Never.” She kept doing it until she fell on him. “Kyle sing me to sleep please.” She rest her head on his laps and closed her eyes.
“I’m waiting kyle.” She called out since kyle has refused to say something.
He was lost staring at her beautiful face, he ran his hand through her hair and quickly stole a kss.

I loosened my hair and combed it backward before braiding it. I used some pins to held it together. I stared at my reflection in the mirror with total satisfaction. I stood up and grabbed my backpack then headed out.
I guess she didn’t remember what happened at the Casino. Kennedy didn’t know she’s trapped and myra too. I just wish one of them should kidnap Odette even once… No mummy and I, I really wanna see what she’s going to do to them. Probably she’s going to kill them or…
“Ashley.” Fredrick called out and tapped my shoulder. He jolt me out of my silly thoughts.
“What’s wrong?” He asked as well walked out.
“Nothing.” I responded and walked in a hurry. I opened the passenger door and hopped in while Fredrick hopped in the back seat.
“The seatbelt Ashley.” Dad reminded and I gasped.
“I literally forgot dad.” I fastened the seatbelt. He ignited the engine and drove out of the mansion.
We were almost close to the school when I sighted Gabriel walking along side of the road.
“Uncle please wait.” Fredrick asked Dad to stop for awhile. “He’s a friend.” He alighted from the jeep and called out his name.
I hissed silently and rolled my eyes. I watched them through the glass talking to each other. They walked toward the car and hopped in the jeep.
“Good morning sir.” Gabriel greeted dad while he returned with a smile.
“How are you?”
“I’m fine sir. Hi Ashley.” He called out.
Like seriously? I scoffed before replying. “Hey Gabriel.” I faked the smile.
Dad dropped us off the gate. We walked into the school but I was surprised to see every students chatting happily. It’s un usual.
“What’s happening Gabriel?” Fredrick asked. We missed school for three days.
“Well I heard a news about school camps or something.”
“Were you not in school?”
“Yes I wasn’t around for awhile, so you guys…”
“Same here, we missed classes. So what’s it all about?”
“Well I don’t really know and I don’t want to. I can’t afford the money.” He said sadly and I chuckled.
“I’ve always known you are nothing but a commoner, just get this into you empty skull you don’t belong here.”
“Do you have to make him feel inferior Ashley?” Fredrick asked furiously.
“I don’t care about his feelings. You can enjoy the cold winter for now.”
“Don’t worry Gabriel, I’m gonna pay.” Fred said and I gasped.
“Are you crazy?”
“Don’t worry Fred, I can manage thank you.”
“Don’t let Ashley words get you down. I’m paying for your registration and you ain’t going to stop me.” Fred said firmly.
Gabriel looked at me and tugged his tongue out to mock me. I was damn furious right now, I stopped walking.
“Half crazy-b@stard.” I uttered and walked away.
