EPISODE 10

Ivy?
My heartbeats quickened as their footsteps kept on getting closer until it finally stopped in front of the room I’m hiding in.

I shut my eyes tightly in fear. Oh no! They found me. But just then I heard the footsteps hurrying away from the door, I strained my ear to hear what was going on.

I couldn’t hear any sound like they were gone but I couldn’t be too sure. So I waited for few minutes before I finally stood up and opened the door. I checked first and confirmed that the hallway was really empty before I came out and started walking cautiously.

I haven’t even gone far when someone bumped into me. At first, I panicked but then I noticed it’s Mrs Helen. She looked relieved as she hugged me. “I was very worried when I didn’t meet you in your room. The maids didn’t know where you went either,” she said.

“Mom, I couldn’t find the maids anywhere. The hallway was empty and I was so scared,” I answered.

“Tonia must have asked them to do something,” she answered confirming my suspicions. Mariana and her mother will pay for what they tried to do to me. “We don’t have time for that now. It’s time for your father to give you away to your new family. Your father is waiting for you in the sitting room.”

She wiped away her tears and covered me with the veil. My face completely hidden. Then she led me to the sittingroom where my dad and Tonia were waiting. I looked at Tonia. She possibly thinks I’m Marie. I’ve figured out their plan. Too bad it failed.

I looked at the serious look on dad’s face. He doesn’t even care if I’m happy with this marriage or not. Mrs Helen tried to hide her sad look as she handed me over to him. I crossed my hands with his as he led me outside.

As we passed Tonia, I said ‘Mother’ in a way that only her could hear. I wish I could see the look on her face but dad already led me outside and the music began welcoming us to the ceremony.

I took in a deep breath as I walked slowly towards my soon-to-be husband who has a kind of dazed look on his face.

Tonia?
I looked at the closed door in shock. I was hearing things right. The bride outside is my Marie not Ivy, right? But I still can’t get that voice out of my head. The voice that just said mother.

I turned around and rushed to Mariana’s room. When I got there, the makeup artist was there, the maids were there but I couldn’t find my daughter.

I looked at one of the maid on her knees and saw the flower I gave Mariana on floor. My face turned pale. “Where is my daughter!?,” I shouted. The maid on her knees shivered.

“Ma, she left this room a while ago,” the maid answered and one of them told me all that had happened in the room causing Mariana to leave in anger. She said Mariana’s wedding dress was stained but the bride I just saw didn’t have any stain on her cloth.

I paid the makeup artist and asked her to leave before I ordered the other maids to beat up the maid that caused all this mess. Ignoring her pleas, I went out and called the leader of the gang I hired.

?Bruno, did you complete the task I gave you?~ I asked immediately he picked up.

?Yes ma, we have the bride with us- the idiot laughed and replied.

? Switch the voice call to video call. I want to see her face- I asked.
I screamed immediately I saw my daughter’s face covered with blood. I hurriedly looked around.

?You idiot! Bring my daughter back here this instant! How could you have made such a foolish mistake?~ I asked panicking.

?She didn’t have anything with her to prove that she’s not the one. It’s not our fault~ the idi®t still tried to argue with me.

?If you don’t bring her back this instant, except to get half payment from me!

Then I cut the call angrily. They will never make it back here in time. I can only count on the other guy to display those files on the projector to stop this goddamn wedding…

What Tonia didn’t know was that the flash she gave to the guy got corrupted with a virus and everything on the flash got wiped off…

Since the guy couldn’t figure out what went wrong, he put the original flash to display on the projector…

I looked at Ivy as her and her father walked slowly towards me. She’s so beautiful. Her beauty is so mesmerizing that it takes my breath away. I’ve never felt this powerful lust for anyone before. Why is Ivy so different?

They finally got to where I was. Her father handed her over to me and left. The two of us turned to face the priest. I smiled as she discreetly removed her hands from mine. She’s never going to change. Feisty kitten.

As the priest went on with his sermon, the time seemed agonizingly slow. I felt bored and when I glanced over at Ivy, I could feel that she’s also bored though I can’t see her face which is covered completely with the pink veil.

At last, the priest asked us to exchange our rings. “Do you Ivy Kent take Brian Faye to be your lawfully wedded groom?.”
“Yes, I do.”
“Do you Brian Faye take Ivy Kent to be your lawfully wedded bride.”
“Yes, I do.”
“You may now kiss the bride.”

Yayyy! The part I’ve been waiting for. I opened her veil, looked into her eyes and then crashed my lips on hers. The crowd cheered loudly as they threw flower petals on us. I don’t care about that right now as I deepen the kss.

Her lips are so soft and it tastes like a special kind of flavor I’ve never tasted before. The taste is so addictive. I stopped the kss abruptly as I felt a stinging sensation in my tongue. Ouch! She bit me. I looked at the smirk on her face. She actually bite me when I was enjoying the kss. She bites my tongue pretty hard that it hurts.

The crowd continued cheering loudly oblivious to what happened now. I feel like my life is going to be interesting from now on.

“My mouth is not food. I told you I’ll make you regret this marriage starting from now on,” she said to me. I smirked ignoring the pain in my tongue. She seemed irked by my smirk.

“Welcome the lastest couple in town!!!,” someone from the crowd shouted as the projector displayed some of our pictures which were obviously photoshopped together distracting us momentarily.
