Chapter 15

“Wife?”, Finn repeated confused.
“Was Elise back?”, He questioned himself but there was no answer.
He quickly abondoned his work and head towards Max’s school immediately.
“Good afternoon Mr Finn.”, The principal and some teachers greeted but Finn’s eyes were glued to Daria that he didn’t notice when they greeted.
Daria quickly removed her eyes seeing the way Finn looked at her with an expression of “Seriously? You are my wife?”
“Your wife here buIIied my son and accused me of buIIying your son, I can’t take this from your family, you guys can’t just accuse someone when you are the guilty one.”, Dan’s mom said angrily.
“What? What are you talking about?”, Finn asked as he looked at Daria and Max confused.
“There are two cases here, your wife claims that Max is the victim of buIIy while Dan’s parents claim the opposite.”, The principal said.
“Max gets bvIIied because of his mom, this child here keep bvIIying him, Max only defended himself.”, Daria tried explaining and the Expression Finn have her made her shut up immediately.
“Max talk.”, He demanded and Max only shuttered.
“Talk properly.”, He yelled angrily.
“Dan was always bvIIying me and saying things like mom doesn’t want me and she left because of me but I couldn’t tell you because….!”, He started saying as tears rolled up his cheek but he quickly wiped them off.
“I kept asking you for the reason max keeps fighting I’m school, why didn’t you tell me this?”, Finn asked as he faced the principal angrily.
“Mr Finn calm down, we were trying to find out who was telling….”
“You were trying to what? This is my son we are talking about, how can you hide this from me and yet you claim to be the principal of this school.”, He yelled angrily.
“Wait! It hasn’t been proven yet, you can just assume that your son is the victim.”, Dan’s parents said.
“Why don’t we call Max’s classmates that are still around, let’s know the truth today.”, Daria suggested and some teachers went to call the students that were still around.

“So tell me, is it true that Dan bvIIies max?”, The principal asked but no one said a word.
“See? You are just accusing my son for…!”
“Yes it is true.”, Someone said and everyone turned to him.
It was Rick, the guy Max keeps pushing away.
“You are probably his friend.”, Dan’s mom said.
“Actually Max doesn’t want me to be his friend but I shouldn’t let that keep me from saying the truth.”, He replied.
“It still doesn’t count, the rest are…!”
“Yes it is true”
“Dan bvIIies Max almost every time.”
They kept talking one by one explaining everything.
“Why are you just talking right now?”, The principal asked.
“Max told us to stay out of his business and we are afraid than Dan might come after us.”, They replied.
“Mr Finn we are sorry about this, the issue that you had with Max’s mom affected him a lot, so we thought that was why he was taking out his frustration on his classmates.”, The principal said and Finn looked at Max in disbelief.
He was very furious with everyone but he was more with himself.
“No wonder Max tells me that he’s sick of being with me, I am not a good father.”, he thought.
He left the office angrily and Daria and max followed him wondering what he was going to say or do to them.
Then he got to the car and turned to look at them.
“You knew about this and you didn’t tell me?”, He asked and Daria just kept her head low.
“He just recently told me.”, She replied lowly.
“But you weren’t planning to tell me, you wanted to keep it from me. What on else are you? Why do everyone keep lying and decieving me?”
“Dad I …!”
Finn didn’t wait for him to talk, he just entered the var and when the other two entered the driver zoomed off.

“Did you have a fight with Max again? I thought you two were getting along recently.”, Oliver said as he sat beside Finn.
Finn had called him since he was the only one he could talk to.
“Would you want to have someone like me as your dad, be honest Oliver?”, He asked and Oliver looked at him preplexed.
“What happened?”, He asked.
“Max has been suffering because of me, I just found that that he gets buIIied because he doesn’t have a mom.”, He said.
“I’m angry at myself Oliver, I feel so terrible. No wonder Max doesn’t want to be with me.”, He said.
“You save Max from getting aborted remember? Why should you think you are a terrible dad?”
“We both know that what I am, he must have been in so much pain and yet I had no idea. Sometimes I wish he didn’t have me as his dad.”, Finn said as tears rolled down his cheek and Oliver hugged him.
“Finn! Stop talking like that, I don’t like it.”, Oliver said.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have known the truth about Elise, I feel so terrible that Max lacks motherly love. I hate myself so much right now.”, He said.
“Finn for how long will you hate yourself? I hate seeing you like this, just move on from Elise and focus on the people that loves you, why don’t you try explaining what happened in the past to Max?”, Oliver suggested.
“Maybe I should bring Elise back or I should do what max wants? He wants to be with his mom only.”, Finn said.
“You know very well that Elise doesn’t take Max as her son and she left years ago, so why would you do that? You know how much that woman that hurt you in the past and yet you want to bring her back, what if you start having feelings for her again.”, Oliver said.
“So what do you suggest I do? I am confused, I don’t know what to do, I just don’t want Max to hate me. I don’t know what he wants and what he doesn’t, he doesn’t tell me anything.”, Finn said.
“Why don’t you try to spend time with him Finn to get to know him?”
“He chases me away, he doesn’t want to be with me. I have tried but he just wants his mom.”, He said and Oliver just sighed.
“Maybe if you find someone you truly love and cares about max, maybe he would accept her.”, Oliver said trying to make him speak up about Daria.
He really wants to hear his feelings about her.
“Do you love someone Finn? Are you keeping something from me?”, He asked.
“I don’t, I am not ready to settle down again. I don’t want to remarry again.”, He said and Oliver just sighed.
“Why can’t he just admit his feelings?”, He thought frustrated.
“It’s late you should go home.”, Oliver said.
“I can’t face Max now and Daria… I don’t want to see her.”, He said.
“Do you want to sleep here then?”, Oliver said and Finn reluntanly stood up to leave.

“Dad I’m sorry please.”, Max said immediately Finn entered.
He almost thought that out of anger his dad won’t return back home.
“I’m sorry that I kept things from you, I am sorry that I blame you for everything, I’m sorry that I was very harsh and treated you unfairly.”, He said as he almost cried his eyes out.
He has obviously been crying since Finn left them.
“You don’t have to be sorry, I should be the one to be sorry.”, He said as he tried to leave but Max wasn’t ready to let go.
“I vented all my anger and frustration on you, dad I’m sorry. I didn’t consider your feelings and I did things my own way”, He said and Finn who planned on ignoring the both of them, hugged Max back.
“Max I know how badly you want your mom and I didn’t ….!”
“I just want you dad, you have been the only one there for me. Having you is enough.”, He said.
“I won’t keep things from you anymore and I will learn to appreciate you.”, He said and Finn smiled.
“You should also forgive Daria, she just wanted to help me.”, Max said and Finn looked up at Daria.
“You should sleep now, it’s late.”, Finn said trying to free himself but Max wasn’t ready to let go.
“I want to sleep in your arms.”, He said and Finn smiled.
He had even forgotten how horrible and angry he was feeling before.
Finn carried him and after a while, he eventually slept off.
Finn dropped him in his room and as he was coming out, he met Daria.
“I’m sorry about what happened Mr Finn.”, She said and he just walked passed her but he stopping.
He was tempted to hug her.
“It will only be for tonight.”, He assured himself and he turned back and hugged her immediately.
Daria was shocked but happy.
Finn has done something that will make her think all night.
“Thank you for helping Max.”, He said and pulled away.
“Sorry for suddenly hugging you.”, He said awkwardly.
“No it’s alright, I’m not complaining.”, She said smiling.
“Were her lips always this pink?”, he wondered for a while and then cane back to his senses.
“Why am I interested in her lips anyway?”, He asked himself.
“I will just try to kss her once.”, He said and moved closer.
He just suddenly stopped when they got so close. He was reminded of oliver.
“Oliver is not my boyfriend.”, She said as she placed her hand on the back of his head and pulled him closer till their lips touched.
They were about to take the kss to another level when Helen showed up.
“Mr Finn your…!”, She called and they quickly disengaged.
“It is not what you think.”, He said and Helen nodded.
“I will come back later then, I will be more careful next time.”, She said and winked at Daria.
“You should sleep now.”, He said awkwardly and she nodded.
