I reached out and touched her cheeks, staring deep into those big pretty eyes.
And finally smiled.
It was hard to believe but when I heard her explain everything, I was forced to believe it.
“Kiran..” I called again, trying to fight back tears.
Marianne hugged me tightly, sniffing. “It’s okay Davey. I’m here now. It’s time for you to be yourself again.
You killed no one. You only defended yourself.” She said and I pulled her back to look into her face.
I touched her stomach which was sheltering my unborn child and both of us smiled. “When this child is born…we are gonna love it and protect it with with our whole strength.”
I reached forward and claimed her l1ps, kssing her with all the sweet passion bottled inside of me.
“Mother said they were gonna contact the lawyer.
I won’t allow you go to jail Davey. We will do all we can to make it happen.” She said again after we broke the kss.
I only nodded,just too shocked and happy at the same time that Marianne was my Kiran all these while!

I was putting on my cloth that morning when the door opened and Cassie walked in, looking like she was sorry over something.
I even forget someone like her still exists.
“Are you going out again?” She asked.
“Yeah…stay at home and enjoy the whole place. It’s what you’ve always wanted.” I retorted and heard bet sigh.
” How’s he doing? Davey.”
I turned to look at her and she said that. “If you are so concerned to know what’s going on..why don’t you visit him yourself!” I yelled at her.
” Mrs Cooper doesn’t want me to come. Everyone hates me!” Cassie yelled back.
I shook my head,rolled my eyes and walked out of the room.
“Enjoy the house new mommy.” I threw over my shoulder and went downstairs.
Taylor’s call came through immediately I picked up my phone from the couch.
“Hello,Tay. Yeah,I’m off to Mrs Cooper’s house.
Yeah…. there is an emergency. Tess is missing.
Can you meet me at Thompson street in the next couple of minutes?” I asked hurriedly into the phone as I wore my shoes.
“Sure girl. Oh my God… what happened!” Taylor asked from the other line.
I only shrugged and cut the call. Taking my jacket,I raced out of the house.
Davey was gonna be discharged that evening and we still haven’t gotten a good lawyer cos something else came up.

I got into my car and zoomed off.
? Theresa ?
I was sweating profusely as I continued to try reaching my mobile phone.
I had to twist my hand to the front, trying so hard but still couldn’t.
The door opened and Robert came in carrying a tray of food.
I quickly sit down properly and shook my head, trying to make my happy fall back cos it was covering my face.
I saw him smile and started coming towards me as soon as he placed the tray on the bed.
He partedy my hair, tucking it behind my ear, making me see him clearly.
“Morning love.” He said with a smile and I scoffed.
“Will you please stop being nice! What are you planning on doing with me!” I yelled at him.
“Eat your breakfast first then I’m gonna tell you.” He said.
“I’m not gonna touch that…!!” I stopped as soon as an idea popped into my head.
I cleared my throat and smiled. “Huh…sorry! I’m really hungry. I’ve not had anything to eat since yesterday.” I said.
He shrugged. ” Just what I was saying.”
” You are gonna untie me in order to eat.” I said quietly.
He narrowed his eyes at me. “If you try anything stupid,I swear, I’m gonna make you regret it ” he threatened before walking towards he.
He bent slightly and loosened my hands.
I sighed as soon as my hands came loose, rubbing them gingerly with my fingers.
“Hurry up with the food.” Robert said and I looked at him.
” You can’t possibly stand there and watch me eat, Robbie.
I’m not gonna escape,I mean… there is no way of escaping from here. Just wait outside.
I’m gonna call you when I’m done.” I replied.
“Don’t play smart.” He threw at me before stepping out and closing the door behind him.
I sighed and paced about restlessly, waiting for them to go far away from the door.
Hurriedly,I plucked out my phone from my inner pocket and switch in on, muffling the noise with my hand.
It came on and as fast as ever,I dialled Marianne’s line.
It’s rang like forever but no one was picking up.
I felt like going crazy as I continued watching the door.
I called again. Still yet…no one picked up.
“Oh God.. please!!” I winced, dialling the line for the third time.
” Please..for goodness sake..for Davey’s sake…pick up!”

I was almost getting to Mrs Cooper’s house when my phone started ringing again.
“Oh g©sh…it’s Soo Early in the morning.. who’s it?” I complained as I drove into the compound and snatched up the phone from the other seat.
Without check to know who the caller is,I picked it up hastily. “Hello hello…this is Marianne…”
“Marianne!! Oh thank God.. Marianne it’s me….it’s..Tess!” Tess said from the other line and I gasped.
“Where are you!” I yelled with fright.
From the sound of her voice,I knew she was in deep danger.
“Oh Marianne….tell me Davey is okay? I know who did that to him…I know him and he’s holding me down in his house right now..help!” Tess whispered quietly from the other line.
I swallowed hard trying to control myself. Did she just said she knows who’s responsible for Davey’s attack??”
” Tell me the address of where you are right now. Hurry up!!”
” It’s Boston Valley….I don’t really know the house number but it’s Boston Valley..a white apartment located not too far from T and T shopping mall.” Tess rasped with a shaky voice and I stopped… feeling wield and confused.
I know that street…..
Just then,I heard her gasped from the other line then the sound of a thunderous $lap and then…the line went dead.
Completely dead.
I sat there in the car….frozen. “Tess.. Theresa!!” I shouted but the line was already dead.
I called back the line again, hoping she would pick up.
But no…I knew she wouldn’t be able to pick it up.
That ba$tard who’s got her must have taken the phone away!!
And Tess knows who attacked Davey! My Davey is not gonna be jailed..only if Tess can be found!!
I remembered the house address again and strangely, it felt so familiar.
I dialled the line again and miraculously, someone picked up.
“Who ever this is should not call this line again..!” A hard male voice said from the other line and I froze.
I was shocked.
That voice… I would recognize it anywhere, any day!!
“Robert??”
