Chapter Nineteen
Ava went back to the hospital hours later when she took Erica’s bag from the office.
She saw her sleeping and George was also there with her.
“You are here” she said.
“Shhh, she’s asleep” he whispered.
Ava closed her mouth and walked towards her. He placed her bag on the table and they both left the room.
“Aren’t you supposed to be at work?”
“Yeah, I can’t leave my sister like that. Besides, the cops are interrogating the employees. They want to know who put that bag there” he said.
“I feel so bad for you two. I just hope they catch the culprit soon” she said.
“Me too” he said.

Calvin was in his office that was filled with different cops.
They were taking pictures and interrogating everyone.
Calvin watched the camera footage but found nothing suspicious.
Even detective Josh was there to help. He also watched the footage.
“There’s something wrong with the footage. The culprit has deleted the footage” he said.
Calvin stared at Josh and back at his computer.
“I admit you are right”
“Where is the victim?” Josh asked.
“She’s in the hospital” he replied.
Josh nodded.
“I’ll go there to have some words with her. Thank you!” He said and left.
The interrogation was still going on.
“Erica is in trouble” he murmured.

“Hello, I’m detective Josh. I’d like to ask the victim some questions” he said.
“Yeah, sure. She’s in buy asleep” Ava said.
The detective went in and saw that Erica was awake already.
“How are you feeling now?”
“I’m fine. Thank you” she replied.
Josh walked towards her.
“I’ll like to ask you some questions” he said.
Erica tried to sit up. Josh also helped her. George and Ava just stared at the from the door.
“Do you have any enemy?” He asked. Erica blushed.
“I don’t know. I don’t think I have. But I have one who is super mad at me, I think she’s upset with me”
“Who is that?” He asked, giving her a questioning look.
“Olivia. She also works at the company but as a cleaner” she said.
Josh quickly brought out his phone.
“We’ll look into her right now. You should be in the station on Saturday. There’s something we’d like to show you” he said and left.
Erica sighed and diverted her gaze away.
She was so tired and bored.
“Are you alright now?” Ava walked in.
“I’ll be alright once I leave here. You guys should cut out the pity face. I hate it!”
George smiled and ruffled his sister’s hair.
“That’s my strong sister. I’ll get the doctor now. We should probably take you home” he said.
“Thank you George” she said.
They both watched as George left the room.
“So, I’ll have to move into the house since you can’t do anything with that hand of yours”
“Are you saying that so that you can spend more time with my brother?” Erica furrowed her eyebrows.
Ava sucked in her lips.
“Uh, are you hungry?” She asked, trying to change the topic.

“What makes you think I’d hurt Erica?” Olivia slammed her hands on the table angrily. She was in the interrogation room with Calvin and Josh present.
“She said you are upset at her”
“Yes, I am. I mean, not really but…”
“Then explain. Why are you upset with her?” Josh asked.
Olivia sighed.
“I was just jealous of her. She took almost everything from me and even her present job. It supposed to be mine. But trust me, I can never hurt me” she said.
“I don’t know what to say about that Olivia. But for the meantime, you have to stay off work and also from Erica.
We haven’t found any proof that you are the one trying to hurt her but when we do. You’ll have to explain why you did that to her” Josh said in a soft tone that was filled with anger.
“That’s not fair. I didn’t harm Erica!!!” She yelled as Josh and Calvin walked out of the room.
“Arghh!” She groaned.

“Detective, I need some men to protect Erica. The culprit is still out there if not Olivia”
“We still need to investigate this matter. If he or she strikes again, then we’ll do something really fast to protect her” Josh said.
“Fine then” he said and left.

.
Erica, Ava and George went back home.
“Get her a pillow”
“I’ll go set up your room. Do you like something to drink?”
Erica was tired of their pity. She stood up and walked to her room. She slammed the door behind.
“Erica?!” George called out.
Ava stopped him and shook her head.
“Let her be, you know how she is” she said.

Erica had a hard time bathing. She managed to bath and slide into night gown. She wore her robe over it and laid on the bed.
Immediately, her phone rang. She picked it and placed it on her ear.
“Hello”
“I heard you left the hospital. Why?”
Erica adjusted herself on the bed.
“I apologise sir. I just didn’t like it there. It smelt like blood and hospital things” she said and rolled her eyes. She heard as Calvin laughed over the phone.
“I understand. You just take some rest okay? I’ll visit you tomorrow”
“You don’t have to. I’m fine” she said.
“Good night” he said and disconnected the call.
Erica dropped her phone on the table and slept off.
She didn’t get any disturb from her brother and Ava.
She enjoyed her sleep till….

.
“Ah! George! No, no!”
She saw as her brother struggled with his car as he drove really fast on the road.
He couldn’t stop the car. It was as if, he has lost control of the car.
Suddenly she heard the tire screeching and then a loud crash…
“George!!!” She yelled and sat up from her bed. She was breathing hard and sweating profusely.
She looked out of the window and saw that it was bright already.
She jumped out of the bed and head outside. She ran out and saw that George was already in his car, ready to go to work.
Erica ran and h!t her hand on his glass. She then realized she was using her injured hand.
“Erica?!” George said and walked down from the car.
“What are you doing? Are you trying to hurt yourself?” He asked.
“Don’t go to work with that car”
That was when Ava walked out of the house.
“What happened?”
“I have no idea why she stopped me from going out” he said.
Erica turned and saw the small garden she saw in her dream. She walked towards it and picked up some engine part.
Ava and George stared at each other and collected it from her.
“Oh no”
“Someone’s trying to harm me also” he gasped.
“I saw you in my dream getting into an accident. Mom and dad’s kller must have lose the engine so that you’d lose control of the car and get into an accident”
George hugged his sister and kssed her forehead.
“You just saved my life Erica. Thank you”
“This is insane. Who must have done this?” Ava asked herself as she stared at the engine.
.
A car pulled over in front of the house. Calvin walked out and adjusted his jacket.
He took off his sunglasses and walked towards Erica.
“How are you feeling Erica?” He asked.
“Very well, thank you” she said and used her bandaged hand to adjust her hair to the back.
Calvin saw the loose engine on Ava’s hand. He furrowed his eyebrows.
“What’s that?” He asked.
“The culprit strike again, he lose some part in my car. I think it’s the brakes” George said.
Calvin picked his phone and called detective Josh.
“I need you at Erica’s house now!”
“Do you have any idea who might have done this?” The detective asked George.
He shook his head.
“I just moved back into the country. I don’t know someone must have done this to me” he said.
“It’s obvious that it’s the culprit. The same a**hole who klled their parents” Ava said with anger in her voice. If she would have lose George, she wouldn’t have helped herself.
“Calm down Miss Ava”
“Please follow me to the station. You need to see some things” he said to them.
“I haven’t eaten anything. I have to take my drugs also” Erica said.
Calvin picked his phone and pressed some buttons.
“Go and have your shower. I’ve ordered some food for you” he said.
Erica secretly blushed. She stood up and walked to her room.
Ava wasn’t happy with this at all. She really want to find the culprit and make sure he would pay for everything.
