SEMI FINAL.

BRITTANY’s POV.

TWO MONTHS LATER…

It was the last day of the first semester exam. I was excited.

Finally going on a break after a whole semester stress. I would be seeing Ezra and Tiana today. They finished their own exams last week and would be arriving today.
We would meet up tomorrow.

After answering all the questions, I left the exam hall happily.

Brenda and Andy were done already and were waiting for me outside.

Brenda started talking to me after Andy asked her out on a date.

They have been going out but haven’t started dating which I know they eventually will.

“How was it?” Andy asked.

“All I know is that I’m starving right now”

“Let’s go and eat” Brenda said.

“Yes please” I nodded.

At the eatery, I told them about my friends in Harvard.

“We are hanging out tomorrow. Will you join?” I asked.

“Yeah sure” they both said at the same time and looked at themselves and smiled.

“Okay then. Will text you the location this night” I told them.

That might, I informed Hayden too after dinner. My cooking skills have improved.

“Will be home in the evening. Can’t wait to see Tiana. I miss her so much” I told him.

“And Ezra. Your crush” he completed.

“Was my crush.” I rolled my eyes.

“Once upon a time, you kssed me to make him jealous”

“I was stupid then. I didn’t even love Ezra. It was just a crush”

“I see…” he uttered in jealously.

“Jealous Hayden is so cute” I laughed.

“I’m not jealous” he rolled his eyes.

I chuckled and looked at him.

“Have you heard from Layla?” I asked.

Layla resigned from work. A week after I was discharged from the hospital.

She didn’t state her reasons. I was glad coz I wanted Hayden to sack her anyways.

She blocked his number and never showed up at the company again.

Hayden didn’t see her too again.

“No” he answered.

“She better not come back” I said. I still don’t like her and I will never like her.

“Her sudden decision to resign might be because I rejected her”

“Let’s just forget about her and focus on us. How are we going to spend my holiday?” I asked.

He hesitated before answering. “We would….just hang out. How was your exam?” He asked changing the topic.

“It was okay…I guess.”

“I’m sure you Would do well. I have got a super brilliant wife” he winked.

“You always have the right thing to say” I smiled.

THE NEXT DAY…

Tiana, Ezra, Brenda, Andy and I are seated on a booth taking ice cream.

Ezra and Tiana are in a relationship already. I’m not surprised. Tiana was scared to tell me at first because she thought I would be angry but I was calm and happy about it.

“I knew you guys would date” I said.
“And it’s fine. I have Hayden. You don’t have to be scared” I told her and she heaved a sigh of relief.

“Phew! That was easy” she breaths out.

“So you guys…are in a relationship?” Ezra asked referring to Brenda and Andy.

“No” Andy answered and Brenda gave him a look.

“So Brit…” Tiana cleared her throat. “Are you still coming to Harvard next session?” She asked.
I thought of that.

“Actually, No. I’m staying in Hilton” I replied.

“Hayden did a good job in making you fall in love. I could never imagine”

“Just shut up” I said blushing.

“You are lucky. You got a super rich and handsome man to marry you” Ezra said.

“Thank you” I muttered.

We continued chatting and it was fun and we decided to call it a day in the evening.

[A WEEK LATER]
I turned around the bed to cuddle Hayden but my hand grabbed the pillow instead.

I frowned opening my eyes and was shocked to see a new change in the bedroom.

It was decorated and there were flowers on the bed and the floor.

Balloons hanging everywhere and on it are written.

*Happy birthday Brittany!”

My eyes widened in shock. It’s my birthday!!!!

On the floor are different packages I can’t count and a money cake.

“Happy birthday Wifey” I heard Hayden’s voice as he entered the bedroom.

“Are you kidding me!!?” I screamed as a tear slipped off my eyes.

“Don’t you dare cry on your birthday” he said cleaning my tears.

“They are tears of joy” I sniffled.

“How come I don’t even remember my birthday?”

“Coz you have a coconut head. Thank God you didn’t. Wanted to surprise you”

“I’m surprised” I said happily.

I got up from the be d and kssed him.

“Thank you” I said kssing him again.

He handed a cake to me.
“Say a wish” he said.

“I wish we last forever” I said in my mind with my eye closed.

I opened my eyes and blew the candle.

I started opening the gifts. Hayden got me a customized necklace and bracelet.
A Chanel bag, shoe and gown.

Different frames of me.

Different popular brands of bags, shoes and wears.

I was crying as I opened the gifts.

It got to the last one.

“This should be the last one you would open” he told me.

“Isn’t this the last one?” I asked and he nodded.

“Are you serious?”

“Common, let me show you”

“This is too much Hayden” I said.

“It’s not as far as it’s you” he says and I blushed.

He took me outside and blindfolded me.

He helped me as I walked as I anticipated what the gift is.

“We are here” he said.

“I hope you didn’t bring me here to kll me” I joked.

He opened the blind fold and I was confused at first when I saw a car in front of me.

I screamed when I realized he got me a car.

“No way!” I screamed.

“Are you kidding me!!” I stared at the Lexus car in shock.

“Common, it’s nothing”

I gave him a look.

“After all the gifts you got me, and now a car!” I screamed again and hugged him as tears fell off my eyes willingly.

“Thank you. Thank you so much! This is the best birthday I have ever had!”

“Anything for you baby” he said hugging me back.

We disengage from the hug and he kssed my forehead.

“Now the last gift..” he said handing an envelope to me.

I collected it wondering what is in it.

I opened it and again, I was shocked.

“A trip to Dubai. Common, you are klling me” I said excitedly.

“We never got the chance to go for an honeymoon. So I thought we could go to Dubai for it”

“Oh my God!” I hugged him again.

“And uhm, I made a mistake. That wasn’t the last gift. I organized a birthday party for you this evening. I have invited your friends” he said.

“I love you” I said as a tear dropped.

There is no doubt I’m with the right person.
