Khalid was walking in the dark with his boys when he spotted a lady running.
For a moment, he stopped and watched her, trying to figure out what was wrong with her.
He saw when she stopped running and sat on the floor, cuddling herself up and within the twinkle of an eye, he discovered it was Octavia.
His brows arched a little.
She looked pained, embittered, and he took slow strides towards her.
Octavia’s eyes were still closed with her head leaned against the wall when she heard some footsteps – not just one, but many.
She snapped her eyes open immediately and could swear her heart stopped beating when she saw who it was.
Wait… Khalid???
Every pain in her body got flushed out as her eyes dilated in shock and she sprang on her feet. Although, the speed she’d used in getting up was out of the world and had caused her a little pain. But she tried not to make a groan towards it.
She didn’t notice her hand was still lying across her frontal waist until Khalid had gotten close to her and when she realized, she quickly brought it down.
“M… Master” her voice was so tender. “Good evening”
She bowed her head immediately.
His boys were all around him, all dressed in black and it made Octavia wonder what they were doing out there.
As Khalid stood in front of her, she could feel her heart skipping repeatedly.
Oh God! The goosebumps were back, the cold shivers, the nervousness, all the things he always made her feel, she could feel them once more. They were back!
She kept her eyes glued to the floor like she was still bowing to him because really, she couldn’t afford looking at him in the face. She just couldn’t.
This same guy that took her dignity, that has caused her so much pain yet, she couldn’t find herself hating him.
The same guy who’s dark side she loved; the superior god-like guy who could touch her without her consent and she wouldn’t be able to do a thing.
Oh! What has gotten into her?
“Octavia”‘ his cold voice finally called, making her shake a little, but thankfully,it wasn’t obvious.
She didn’t take her eyes from the floor, not even for a minute.
“What’s the problem?” She heard him ask after like, forever, and she flinched a little.
Problem? How does she know she…
Hold on…her face! She didn’t wipe the tears off, did she??
She gasped lightly and lifted her hand to her cheek, wiping them off.
“Um…It’s… it’s nothing, Master. I’m fine”. She answered nervously.
Khalid’s eyes found the bloodstain on her nails. He didn’t need anyone to tell him she just got into a fight with someone.
“So, why are you here?” He asked again, his dark eyes on her face this time around.
Octavia couldn’t think of telling him the truth of what Leo has almost done to her. Because she remembered: Dignity had no meaning over there.
She shuddered a little and slowly lifted her eyes to look at him.
Goodness! The sight was overwhelming; she could hardly breathe.
She felt her lungs run dry immediately, her entire vibrated. And she wondered if she was just getting to know about his extremely cute features.
“I… I just felt like…being here, Master. It’s nothing” she answered feebly, her blue eyes trying so hard not to leave his face.
He’d gotten a new tattoo on his neck – Octavia noticed.
Despite the strong feeling he had that something was wrong, he wasn’t the type to press himself on issues. So, he was just going to let it slide.
He moved away from her and she took her eyes to the floor.
His perfume…she had missed it.
After a few more seconds, he started walking away.
“Master“ Octavia almost called out as she lifted her eyes and watched him leaving.
She felt a cut in her heart again, an old scar reopening. She felt hurt.
As he marched with so much authority, the boys guarding him, it made her realize how much she’s missed him.
Oh God! Why did he have to change? Why did he suddenly become cold towards her?
She felt debilitated as she fell back to the wall again, still staring at his receding image.
How could she be so stupid, huh? To even have such thoughts towards a man so powerful?
He was the Master of one of the Most Powerful clans, and she was just his follower.

Next_morning.

Octavia was awoken with the strong nauseating urge.
She jumped out of bed, her hand over her mouth as she ran pass Mica to the toilet.
Getting there, she grunted as she bent over the toilet seat, emptying all the content in her mouth.
“Ugh!!”
Oh God! What is happening to her?
She panted heavily after the process, still on her knees. She felt so sick, pale. Her taste buds were so bittered.
Mica showed up immediately, standing at the doorway. And Octavia struggled to stand on her feet.
Her breathing was slow and heavy as she dragged her feet to stand in front of the mirror so she could wash her face.
“Octavia” Mica called, going closer to her.
This time around, she was having a different expression on.
Octavia didn’t say a word but started washing her face.
Mica looked at her from the mirror, her face crumbled up.
“When was the last time you saw your floor?” The sudden question hit hard at Octavia as she snapped her head up to look at Mica.
What?
Her lids fluttered when she racked her head on it.
It’s been…
“Octavia?” Mica called again, playing with the voices in her head.
“I…I don’t know. It’s been two months already” she answered with a hard gulp, staring intently at Mica.
She could feel the weakness in her body turning into anxiety. Why did Mica ask such question?

“Oh God” she suddenly heard her mumble.
“Take a look at yourself, Octavia. You’re pregnant!”
