CHAPTER 34
AMY’S APARTMENT.
Mrs qin brought her dinner and sat next to her daughter. She saw that Amy was getting unusual weight.
” You are not eating alot this days. I wonder where you got this cheeks from” Her mom laughed, pinching her cheeks.
Amy bluntly smile as she looked away. She knew it was coming from the baby.
They ate their dinner in peace and mrs qin cleared her plate while Amy was still struggling with a second spoon.
” You don’t like the food, dear?” Her mom asked, rubbing her back.
Amy stared at her mom, filling her mouth with the meal.
” It taste nicer than any food. Love it ” she winked, with her full mouth.
Her mom rested her cheeks on her palm as she watched her eat.
” So. Tell me, xan came here right?” Mrs qin asked, trying to test her fate.
Amy blinked and finally shaked her heads.
” Yes, mom. He did” She said.
” I warned you to stay away from that man right?. You didn’t listen.” Her mom sneered.
” I’m sorry.” She apologised and her mom hissed loudly.
She stared at her food, wondering how on earth she would finish this big mountain.
She picked her fork and forced herself to eat more.
” Mn. i just hope Xan goes home safely tonight.” Mrs qin said sitting up.
Amy got puzzled and she looked up at her, suddenly turning alert.
Mrs qin stared at her disgustingly.
” Why are you staring at me that way?” She asked.
Amy gulped down her food. She knew her mom had a reason for saying that. Perhaps, she had done something bad.
” W..what did you say. The other thing you said?.” She raised her arm to ask her mom.
” I said i hope he goes home safely tonight. He might not know what to expect on the road ” Mrs qin responded.
Amy instantly dropped her spoon as she looked at her mom utterly shocked. She immediately stood up.
” Where do you think you are going?” Mrs qin asked staring at her.
” Xan!” She screamed loudly and ran out of the kitchen.
Mrs qin stood up, yelling out her name but she didn’t come back. She scoffed and sat back on the chair, dragging Amy’s food to her side.
” All this drama, that’s her problem.” She said and dug on her food.
Amy ran up the stairs towards her room. She hit the door close and rested on it, bringing out her phone.
Her screen lit up on her face as she made to call xan.
” Xan please pick your call. Please!. Please!!” She begged.
She left the door and began going everywhere around the room.
” He isn’t picking!” She said, breaking into a sob.
” Oh please. Nothing should happen to him. Please…” she begged still trying his number.
She stopped and stared at her screen. His phone was not available.
” No!..” She screamed, tugging her hair. She sat on the bed, juggling her legs as she thought of what to do next.
Tears slowly went down her eyes after she realised he wasn’t picking.
She dropped her phone on the bed and ran over to the wardrobe to pick her clothes.
She would leave this home and hunt him down if she had to.
Her phone began to buzz and she looked over to the direction. She ran like a jet towards her bed.
She was so relieved to have found it was him. She wondered what her mom could have done this time.
” Hello Xan…” She said, hoping to hear his voice hearty.
” Amy. Are you okay?” His smooth voice made her shut her eyes and smile. He was okay. Her prayers got answered.
” Xan. What happened?. Did anything happened in the road?. Were you hurt?” She hurriedly asked.
Xan paused for a while. He seemed to have realised something. Mrs qin was behind it.
” Amy. You don’t have to worry about anything. I’m doing just fine” He said.
” Oh. Thank Goodness you are okay. I almost ran crazy, xan. I_i don’t know what to do if something happens to you.” She said, rubbing her wet cheeks.
” It’s my duty to stay safe for you.” He said.
” Please. Take Good care of yourself. Please for my sake and the baby’s sake, okay?”
” Yes, my queen. ” He said and Amy chuckled loudly.
She moved her phone away from her ears and placed it on her chest.
A heavy gasp escaped her lips.

XAN’S BEDROOM.
Xan was treating his lips with the soaked cotton in the first aid box. He stared at his reflection in the hand mirror, the wound wasn’t that severe.
A knock was on the door and vixen dropped in with a pack of popcorn.
He stopped after seeing xan with a wounded lip.
” What happened to you?” He asked, approaching his bed. He sat next to him.
” I was attacked by thugs on my way home.” Xan replied dropping the box on the floor.
” Attacked?. Lord geez!” Vixen said feeling confused.
” Don’t worry. It wasn’t a severe one. Thank God i was able to escape.” He said.
Vixen stretched out the popcorn to him and he packed a fistful into his mouth.
” Vixen. I need to tell you something.” Xan said, gulping down the cruches as he sat upright on his bed.
” I’m listening..” vixen said resting his cheeks on his knuckles as he stared at him.
” This is quite a difficult confession. Promise me you won’t get upset?”
” i promise.” He lazily said, rolling his eyes.
” Say it with your full chest.” Xan told him.
” I don’t have an half chest already. Gosh” Vixen smirked and pulled his buttons open.
” I promise.” He said and buttoned it up.
Xan sI.apped his forehead, shaking his head. Such a brother with zero brain.
” Anyways. Hear me out.” He said and bit his lower lip. He raised his thick brows and stared at him.
” I’m…I’m in a relationship with Amy and she’s kinda….preg_
” Hold it there, mr clown. When did you start being like me who crack jokes.” Vixen laughed.
” No. I’m not joking. She’s actually carrying my baby right now.” Xan said, being serious.
” Ha!. See this big dude. How can you say such a big fat lie!” Vixen said, nudging his shoulder.
Xan stared at him for a while before sighing. He stood up.
” Forget about what i said.” He said moving to his wardrobe.
Vixen bent his brows, staring at his brother. He realised xan wasn’t laughing along with him.
Something was not alright. He was being serious.
” Wait. Do you mean it?. You are dating Alicia and she’s….pregnant. For you?” He asked.
Xan turned to him and nodded.
” Believe me now?” He asked.
Vixen jaw dropped. He became a statue, unable to move his body.
That was the most tragic news he had ever heard in his entire life.
He stared at his brother. Where was he all this while when all this was going on?. How come he never noticed?.
” How did it happened?. How was i not aware all this while. How was_” He paused, staring at his brother in disbelief.
” Xan..” He called his name, shaking his head.
Xan held his shoulder, meeting his gaze.
” You promised not to get upset, Vixen. I only wanted to get you informed before it would be too late” He said.
” No. This is just too much, xan.. How can you not tell me. She left us weeks ago.
She left both two of us. How come you went behind my backs, dating her and now she’s pregnant. Like wtf!!…”
He tugged his hair as he moved around in the room.
” Vixen. She left us for a reason. She only wanted to know who would return back to love her. And i….i accidentally did.”
” I thought we moved on. I thought you promised to move on.” He said turning to look at him.
He sat back on Xan’s bed, resting his forehead on his palm.
” I thought we would move on together like this. Being good brother and stay away from our past. Amy is our past…why did you…”
With anger, he sighed and stood up and began to head for the door.
” Vixen. Come back.” Xan said, heaving.
” Just shut the hell trap of yours.” He yelled and walked out, slamming the door hardly.
Xan stared blank at the door for a while. He rested his back on the wall, folding his arm.
He shouldn’t have told him. How come he was too stupid not to have realised.
He was embracing the good part of him until now all this popped up. How will vixen try to repay him now.
” Sht!” He cursed, running his fingers into his air.

Wednesday.
AT THE OFFICE….
Vixen was in his office, going through some files when katrina walked in.
He raised his chin to meet her face.
” Good morning, Vixen. I have some report for you” She said, walking in hastily as she flipped the papers.
” How was your night?” He asked, resting his palm on his cheek as he stared at her.
Katrina stopped and stared at him. She waved her hand at his face.
” Are you drunk or something?” She asked, raising her brow.
” So you came back to impress me with your dressing, huh?. Nice, you are definitely learning.”
” What the fk is wrong with you. Just shut your teeth and hear my report so i can leave this freaking office, Gross!” She yanked a face.
” Let’s me hear you out” He said, picking his pen.
She cleared her throat, speaking like a native American speaker.
” You have an interview along with your brother by 3. Then the contract, it was cancelled as xan said.”
Vixen throated a chuckle, shaking his head.
” Sorry. Sorry. I was lost. Repeat” He said, chuckling. Her voice sounded like jingle bells in his ears.
She fell her hand, scowling a face.
” Oh my gosh!. What’s so wrong with you this good morning. Did you even reach home last night?”
” Of course i did. I’m just not mentally stabled.” He scoffed.
” Well you better be, or I’ll make you do myself.” She said and turned to the paper in her arm.
” You have an interview along with your brother by 3. Then the contract, it was cancelled as xan said.”
” Make the interview for xan alone. And the contract should not be cancelled.” He said, jotting on his book.
” And Why?” She asked, holding her waist.
Vixen stood up and leaned his palm on his table.
” Just do as i say.” He smirked.
” Ew. Don’t speak so close to my face!” She yelled, waving her arm.
Vixen came out of his table and leaned on it as he faced her.
” You are misbehaving again. Mn?. You haven’t learned a thing from yesterday” He said.
” The only thing i remember yesterday was picking my bags to leave the office in a haste.” She scoffed.
” And the car ride?” He smirked, folding his hands.
” Arg. So because you dropped me off yesterday, you want me to climb up the fence and announce it to the nine planet. Infact, that car of yours almost made me vomit. I held my nose tight all through the ride…”
Vixen cupped his cheeks as he listened to her mouth blab. Those peach full lips of hers, he imagined himself svcking his way through.
Licking and nibbling on them and watch her do same to him.
He found himself leaning close to her face.
Before he knew it, kate raised her arm to suddenly slap him hard, causing a thunderstorm on vixen’s ear.
Vixen palmed his cheek in shock, staring at her. His eyes was seeing true star.
She stared at her palm.
” Oh geez. I don’t like when people do that to me, especially men!. You guys are such a widower!.” She yelled, bending her brows with disgust.
She brought up her papers.
” Quickly, sign my report so i can leave here immediately before you turn naughty.” She said.
Vixen was still palming his cheek, still reviving himself.
” I…i…still don’t understand why you did that” He said calmly.
” What!. What do you want to hear me say, huh?. You find way to hurt girls like me, starting from staring too much and then you mess us up. No guy is different!. Everyone is just the same!.” She yelled.
” Just…just have the papers!. I hate you so much now!. You are so evil!.” She yelled.
She threw the paper on his table and stepped out, slamming the door.
Vixen face fell. He didn’t understand a bit of all she had said at all. He touched his cheek.
They were hot and probably red now. He held his chin and just laughed at himself for being too stupid around her.
What was that awkward feeling he felt after seeing her.
He went back to his table and heaved another tough sigh. What did she actually mean by ‘ they stare too much and mess us up?’
His door opened distracting him. He looked up to find xan walking in.
” Brother. Let’s be good to eachother. Leave my office.” Vixen said calmly.
” You need to hear me out, vixen. Stop behaving like a kid.”
” I said leave!. I just wanna be alone….forever!. I have no brother!” He yelled.
