CHAPTER 39
“Where were you?, You suddenly disappeared” Zane asked when Kai came in
“Why do you care?” Kai sounded cold as always
“Tch so cold and heartless” Zane said pouring a drink into a glass cup before sitting on a chair
Kai’s brows creased when Zane called him cold and heartless, he suddenly remembered Layla’s words
“Hey! I’m not cold or heartless alright!!” He yelled making Zane choke on his drink
Zane coughed harshly glaring at Kai who took a cup and also poured himself a drink, he loosened his tie and sat down frustratingly
“Are you trying to kill me for my wife?” Zane screamed
Oh if Annalise could hear this!
“Whatever” Kai clicked his tongue
“Why does it suddenly bother you that I called you cold and heartless?”
“Because I’m not” Kai snapped
“If I wasn’t sure that you don’t like Layla then I would’ve said she’s the reason for your weird attitude” Zane said but he noticed Kai’s cup almost slipped out of his hands
“Anyway, Gary should be in California in like…” Zane trailed when the door suddenly burst open revealing Gary in blue suits and shades looking as handsome as always
“Hello people” he announced spreading his arms wide while probably imagining a grand entrance sound
“Gary” Zane called
“I’m flesh my dude” Gary winked grinning
“You’re stepping on me” Zane said lazily
“There’s no need to feel yourself when it’s just the three of us and don’t wink at me I have a wife at home, I’m not ga.y” Zane said disgusted
“Bros the bches in Mexico are so fuckin’ hot like dayum!” Gary said sitting down and taking Kai’s drink from his hands gulping everything in one go
“Dude that was mine” Kai muttered pointing at the empty cup
“Oh sorry, here” Gary said giving the empty cup back to Kai who stared at it emotionlessly
“Gary did you know Kai suddenly doesn’t want to be called…” Zane stopped at the sound of shattered glass
Zane and Gary turned to Kai who was staring at the shattered glass on the floor
“Why are you being so weird?” Gary asked but Kai stood up and left without a word
“Is he liking someone?” Gary asked Zane who shrugged, he had an invisible smirk on his face
They all know Kai, he tends to be more clumsy and a little too distant when he has something on his mind. But Gary and Zane knows there’s someone on his mind
They both glanced at themselves, they were so going to torment Kai, they smirked.

Kai suddenly stood up from his desk and walked to the transparent inner room, it had a brown lounge chair with a table, it also had a bed and Kai could make the transparent glass turn obscure with a button
He locked the inner room and sat in the couch
He knows his friends had noticed his clumsiness and weird attitude, they also knew something was up with him and they were coming for him
As expected his office door burst open, Gary and Zane barged in, they looked around but the office was empty, Zane immediately sighted him in the office and tapped Gary pointing at Kai who relaxed on the couch with a drink in his hands
They immediately rushed to the office and tried to open the door but found out it was locked
“Kai opened the door” Gary said but Kai ignored him
“Kai are you shy?” Zane asked wiggling his brows at Kai who rolled his eyes
*Shy for what exactly?,why would he be shy for that annoying brat?* He thought
“Ooh so you do like her” Gary asked grinning mischieviously
Sht!, He said that out loud.
