CHAPTER 13
Layla ran to the road and tried to look fora taxi but the street felt empty, no taxi at all
“Not now,not now” she panicked
“I’m gonna get fired on my first day for sure” she said and immediately a black car stopped in front of her, the glass winded down revealing Gary’s handsome side profile
“Get in” he said and Layla immediately enters without delay
“Hold on” he smirked and drove off at an insanely high speed that Layla almost screamed.
Within four minutes max, they were in front of the coffee shop Layla works, she got down immediately
“Thank you” she said and ran in following the back
“You’re welcome” Gary muttered staring at her back, he smiled before driving off.
“I’m sorry I’m late” Layla said, she wrapped her hair into a bun and put on a face cap on top, that’s what the other workers do too
“Finally”
“Is boss in yet?” She asked
“No,you’re lucky” a girl replied
“Thanks for covering up for me” Layla said and the girl nodded before leaving
Layla took over the spot, the girl came back
“I forgot, the customer at that spot needed a coffee without sugar”
“Okay” Layla nodded
She carried the coffee in a little tray to the table where the girl had pointed, the person that sat there had a newspaper on his hands and it covered his face
“Your coffee” she announced, the person immediately kept the newspaper on the table and Layla saw his face
She immediately recognized him, he was Kai, Zane and Gary’s friend the cold one that had snatched the bottle from her
He was here, why was he here?
Out of shock, she missed a step and the coffee flew from her hands splashing on Kai’s face, wetting his hair and ruining his white shirt
“Sht!!, I’m a goner” Layla thought staring at Kai with wide eyes while he glared at her, his lips muttering inaudible cvrses..

“You’re fired!!” Layla’s boss roared angrily
“But it was a mistake”Layla said
“He made it known that you did it on purpose, o don’t wanna see you here when I’m back” her boss warned and stormed out
“I did not” Layla muttered and sighed, she took off the apron and her cap before walking out slowly
The other workers stared at her with pity
The night was silent and suddenly it started drizzling
“Curse my unlucky a$s” she cvrsed and raised her purse over her head running for shelter
She finally saw one and she immediately ran under, she fumbled her pockets for her phone and brought it out. She tried turning it on but it didn’t
“Sht!, It’s broken how do I get a taxi now?” She wonders staring around the dark street
“That cold Kai, I swear if I get him he’ll be gone” she raised her fist in the air, but slowly she started feeling cold and the rain had no intention of stopping
She squatted at a corner shivering.
