CHAPTER 18
“Welcome back home Mrs and her friend” the butler bowed slightly
Both Layla and Annalise stared at themselves before turning back to the butler
“Is Zane back yet?” Annalise asked
“No Mrs” the butler shook his head
“Have you heard from him?” She asked again, he still shook his head
“I’m afraid not Mrs”
“Mr butler, what’s your name?”
“It’s Smith Mrs”
“Great, same name as my dad, how about we sit and have a human to human conversation”
Smith nodded reluctantly, he was suspicious, what was Annalise up to now, they went to the sitting room and sat down with Layla and Annalise sitting opposite Smith, the butler
“Why are you so hard to talk to?, Why are you so stubborn?” Annalise asked
“It’s my job Mrs” Smith replied
“Did you perhaps swear with your life to remain loyal at all times?” Layla asked
“It’s just my choice Miss”
“Can’t you at least tell me where my husband went to?”
“He made sure I kept it Mrs”
Both Annalise and Layla sighed in resignation, this butler is a tough but to crack
“Forget it, it’s pointless anyway” Annalise said and the butler stood up and bowed before leaving
“Let’s just watch a movie and eat lots of food, that’ll ease the stress a bit” Layla suggested and Annalise nodded
In as much as she and Zane weren’t best of friends, she was worried for some reason
They spread a huge blanket on the floor and sat on it with their pop corns in their arms and bottles of coke beside them, other snacks were also available.

Zane got home after work, he felt tired and was thinking of ways to get in without getting spotted by a certain little nagging wife, he had come with Gary and Kai
“Welcome master” Smith said
“Where is she?” Zane asked
Smith pointed at the sitting room, Zane, Gary and Kai walked there abs saw them sleeping on the blanket with the snacks scattered everywhere
“She’s here too?” Gary scoffed amusingly
“They were watching a movie, young Mrs was really worried sir” Smith said and Zane raised a brow interestingly
“Is that so?” He asked and walked to where she slept and picked her up, going upstairs without saying anything to both Gary and Kai who stared at the sleeping Layla
They both knew what was running through each other’s mind, what were they supposed to do with her
“You can take her to your house” Gary said
“I never said I wanted to” Kai said and walked out
Gary looked and Layla and then at Kai’s retreating figure, he smiled unknowingly..

Zane dropped Annalise on the bed slowly and gently, Annalise immediately opened her eyes
“Zane is that you?” She asked in a sleepy voice
“Yes”
“You’re back?”
“Hmm”
Annalise sat up hugging him
“I was worried” she muttered but Zane didn’t respond, he just stared ahead..
