Chapter 35
NICOLE’S RESIDENCE*
Camdan tossed on the bed tiredly and adjusted the duvet on his body. After a while he lazily opened his eyes and sat up resting his head on the headboard.
He touched his head and groaned a little as a migraine struck him. He was looking for his phone when his eyes met a glass of water and an aspirin beside it.
‘who kept this here?’ he wondered and afterwards he shrugged. Without wasting much time he took the aspirin and gulped it down with the glass of water.
He stepped down from the bed and saw a flip flops decorated in teddy bears which got him confused.
‘I don’t think I have something like this.’ he thought and that was he sniffed the air in the room. It felt so different from his regular perfume or air freshener.
He looked around the room and realized he wasn’t in his room, the bedsheet, paint on the wall and the setting was so different…in fact it was kinda girlish.
That was when the memories of last night started coming in and he was confused because he didn’t remember himself coming to Nicole’s house.
He immediately left the room and ran all the way to the sitting room, not minding the fact that he was shirtless.
He descended down the stairs and immediately his eyes met the sleeping Nicole on one of the sofa in the sitting room. He moved closer to her and sat down on a couch facing her direction.
He kept staring at her and he didn’t know when his hand found it’s way to her hair caressing it. He felt it it wasn’t right but he couldn’t stop himself from doing it.
He was wowed as he saw something more Astonishing. She was looking more beautiful than ever but he had no idea. He stared right into her face and took notice of that plump lips, pointed nose and perfectly shaped face… They were all beautiful and damn she was perfect in his eyes.
He was so surprised he was just seeing how perfect she is… maybe that was because he doesn’t pay much attention to her and it kinda sting him but he didn’t know why.
‘So she spent the night here’ he thought with a smile.
Jace came out of his room all dressed up in his uniform. He was getting ready for school, he picked an apple from the fruit basket and started munching on one. He got to the sitting room heading for the front door but was surprised when he saw his sister’s boss caressing her face.
‘It seems he likes her’ he thought and arrived at the scene. Immediately Camdan laid his eyes on him he withdrew his hand from Nicole’s face and Jace chuckled.
“Good morning” Jace greeted and Camdan just stared at him with a surprise expression.
“Please who are you?” Camdan asked innocently and Jace smiled.
“Am Jace, Nicole’s younger brother and you must be Sir Camdan right?”
“Yes I am, why do you ask?” Camdan asked and Jace looked at him from head to toe with a shrug before he cleared his throat.
“You don’t look so bad.. you’re handsome. My sister chose well.”
“What do you mean?, I don’t understand.” Camdan asked batting his lashes and Leo chuckled.
“When she wakes up ask her yourself… don’t tell her I told you. Am off to school…see y’all later.” Jace said and walked out leaving them alone.

THE LUCAS’S MANSION*
Master’s bedroom…
Mr Lucas was seated on the king sized bed as rested his head on the headboard with a newspaper glued to his face. He flipped on the pages of the newspaper continuously as he found it tiring.
He removed the glasses he wore and rubbed his eyes for few seconds…he was feeling dizzy already and it won’t turn out good, if it worsens he might pass out and he didn’t want that to happen. He needed to take his medication more seriously.
After a while his wife entered the room with a cup of coffee alongside with a glass of water and placed it on the stool close to him.
He closed the newspaper gently and sat upright. He was a man with strong principles and very handsome and his sons took after him, especially Josh.
Even at his old age he was still looking handsome and his wife often bragged about that whenever she is in the meeting with other chairmans wives…she loved him a lot.
Mrs Lucas walked over to a cupboard and brought out his medications. She took out the drugs and handed it to her husband.
“Did the help prepare the coffee the way i want it?” Mr Lucas asked before taking he swallowed the drug and flushed it down with the glass of water.
“Those helps are useless, if I hadn’t gone there, they would have added more sugar in your coffee…you know the doctor said you shouldn’t take in much sugar.” She stated with a hiss.
“Am glad you went there on time.” Mr Lucas replied nonchalantly and she smiled.
She sat on the bed and clinged close to him with a wide smile on her face. Mr Lucas knew she wanted something and didn’t hesitate to ask her. “What is it this time?”
“Lets talk about our son.” She replied.
“Josh is fine, I gave him a place in the company but he hasn’t started working. I don’t know why.”
“Am not talking about Josh, am talking about Camdan my son.” she said and Mr Lucas shook his head sideways.
“What about Camdan?”
“Can’t you cancel the wedding between Cassey and Camdan?, I mean, Camdan isn’t happy about the whole wedding thing…even though he didn’t tell me, I can tell he wasn’t happy about it.” She explained with a crumpled expression.
“He’s going to get married to cassey and that’s final..but why are you getting yourself worried with a small issue.”
“Because he’s my son and I care about his happiness. He’s 27 for crying out loud!” She yelled and Mr Lucas scoffed.
“And so what if he’s 27? He’s also my son and am his father…this is for the company’s purpose, so don’t get involved.”
“So you’re using my son for your selfish interest?” she asked with a broken voice…all her husband cared about was the company and nothing else.
“Yes”
“How could you Lucas, how selfish can you be? He loves someone else and here you are trying to get him married to a girl he doesn’t even know about.” She said calmly as a tear dropped from her one of her eyes.
“I don’t understand you victoria…you are happy when it comes to Josh but now it’s Camdan’s time you’re sad.”
“Yes am sad because Camdan is my son and Josh is not!” she half yelled and her husband chuckled lightly.
“How tacky of you… speaking with so much hatred. You know if you had acted this way when it came to Josh, I could have changed my mind but you acted otherwise.” Mr Lucas said with anger dripping from his voice and added.
“Make sure you tell Camdan to stay away from that waitress…she belongs to someone else.”
He said and climbed back on the bed and closed his eyes, he was feeling sleepy already after all the drug he took was to help relax his nerves.

She frowned and stood up, wanting to leave but stopped when she noticed the room was cold. Even though she was angry at him, he was her husband and she cared about him.
She helped him the duvet on his body…she adjusted the temperature of the air conditioner before leaving the room.
