Chapter 49 (Regrets)
THE DENNIS MANSION*
“My fiance is here and you locked him outside?, How dare you?!” she hollered and he rushed out back to open the gate.
After a few minutes Josh entered. Immediately she laid her eyes on him, she ran to him and hugged him tight. She pulled away from the hug when, she noticed he didn’t hug her back.
“Are you ok?” she asked and he remained quiet. She touched his face and looked closely, his hair was scattered and his eyes were all red and puffy.
“Have you been crying?, Talk to me Josh. Did something happen?”
“Why are you doing this to me Tasha?, What have I done to you, that you plan on destroying my life Tasha, tell me!” he hollered and she flinched.
“Josh, what did I do wrong?, Please talk to me.”
“Why did you lie to Asha?” he asked and she rolled her eyes.
So all this was actually because of Asha, the almighty Asha. She suddenly got angry and let out a throaty chuckle.
“So all this is all about Asha?, Tell me” she spat angrily.
“Yes it’s all about Asha, you lied to her by telling her we are engaged… didn’t it occur to you that I broke the engagement?, Or you just can’t accept the fact that I don’t want to you.”
“You don’t want me because of her Josh. We were fine from the very beginning, until that motherfker came into the picture!” she yelled as her chest heaved high and low.
“Don’t you dare call her names. You see?, That’s why I don’t like you because you are just obsessed with me… just stop all this and leave Asha alone. Leave us alone!” he yelled back and she laughed harmoniously.
She moved close to him and held his face in her hands.
“i am not obsessed with you Josh. I love you and am acting all crazy because I love you.”
Josh closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, he just wanted her to understand everything.
“You and I can never work Tasha.” he said and dropped her hands down from his face. She suddenly became angry again.
“What does Asha have that I don’t have?, Am richer and prettier than her but she’s just a mere worker. What does she have that you love her so much. Tell me!” she yelled and Josh smiled.
“She’s hardworking, she’s independent, she has good heart, she never gives up and she kept something precious even though her loved ones kicked against it…and that’s my daughter.” he uttered calmly and Tasha suddenly became weak.
“You have a daughter with her?, How could you do this to me Josh?, How could you?!” she yelled in tears.
“I am sorry, it wasn’t intentional but now I don’t regret any of it. Just forget about me and move on…. please.” he said before he walked out of the house.
Tasha collapsed on the floor as she cried bitterly. “It hurts so much, it really does.”

ASHA’S RESIDENCE*
“My child, my sweet buttercup”
“Mommy got you, so just sleep and…” a sudden knock on the door disrupted the lullaby she was singing for Tara.
She looked at Tara in her arms and smiled in satisfaction that she finally slept off. The knock came up again and she quietly dropped Tara on the three sitters couch she has in the living room.
After covering Tara with a duvet, she walked over to the door and opened it, revealing Josh who stood in front of it.
She sighed softly and bit her lips hard as she tapped her legs on the floor.
“What are you doing here?” she asked sternly.
“Can we talk?” Josh asked instead.
“We have nothing to talk about Josh, did you have a good time with your fiancee?”
“Asha.” he called and she scoffed.
“What is it?, Am I lying?”
“Asha can you just listen to me, please I can explain. You just need to trust me.” he said in a teary voice and she laughed lightly.
“Trust you?, You want me to trust you?” She asked as a tear escaped her eyes.
“Yes, just trust me… please.” he replied.
“Where has that ever gotten me Josh?”
Josh closed his eyes as he felt the question stabbing him deeply, right into his heart. She was right but he wanted to make her understand.
“Am sorry Asha, I’ve acted like a dk lately ok?, I fked up big time and I am sorry.” he sincerely apologised, causing Asha to shed more tears.
She felt like holding him tightly and tell him, it’s all going to be fine but she couldn’t. Josh wasn’t hers, he belonged to someone else and she felt like a destroyer in their relationship.
“You think sorry will fix all this?, I trusted you Josh, I was thinking of starting all over with you but what did you do?, You lied to me, your fiancee came to my work place and insulted me!”
“Asha please listen to me.” Josh cried out.
“Don’t call my name, you are so dirty, you made me look like a fool.” she said and continued
“Do you know what?, Tara was a mistake, you were a mistake… forget about me, forget about Tara…get los!t.”
Immediately she said that, she banged the door on him.
Josh felt numb for a few minutes, he couldn’t feel his legs anymore. He stood there standing as he stared at the door.
He just met her not quite long and now she’s kicking him out?, He hated himself because he couldn’t take care of a rare gem. He has never fallen in love with someone, the way he was in love with her.
After what took like an hour, he finally walked away.
Asha who was seated on the cold floor, cried bitterly. She realized she has fallen in love with him and it happened so fast.
She looked at her sleeping daughter and her thoughts were occupied with Josh only. She couldn’t take it anymore, her daughter needed a father and she also needs him too.
Without saying a word, she opened the door and with full speed she ran out of the house. She ran to the street close to her house, looking for Josh.
She searched everywhere but he was no where to be seen. She cussed silently and when she was about to head back to her house, she heard the most soothing voice.
“Where you looking for me?” he asked and she turned to his direction.
“I wasn’t, just leave already.” she replied sternly but in a trembling voice and Josh was quick to notice that.
She turned her back on him, as she was about to take a step forward, he hugged her from behind.
“Get of me!” she yelled.
“Please don’t leave me Asha. I have no one else but you and Tara, You guys are the only family I have.” he said as he sobbed.
Asha closed her eyes and tears rolled down on her cheeks. His grip on her waist got tightened and she felt weak.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you, she’s no longer my fiancee. I broke up with her a long time ago but she was just so obsessed with me, that’s why she came to the restaurant to spit out trash. Please believe me Asha…just trust me on this please.” he cried.
Asha suddenly turned to him, his hands still on her waist and she pulled his face close hers. The next step she took came as a shock from Josh. She crushed her lips on his and kssed him passionately.
After a while she broke the kss and rested her forehead on his. She wiped his tears away with her thumbs.
“I am sorry too, I love you Josh.” she uttered and without giving him a room to say anything, she captured his lips again. Josh hesitated but later reciprocated as he pulled her more close to him.
