” Oh please Lisa! Do you expect us to believe that?! Rita asks rolling her eyes. ” I have no doubt you are pregnant but am sure you don’t know who the father is and you want to pin it on my brother because he rejected you, right?”
Alex is tense, his eyes still on me trying to figure out what am thinking, and by his reaction, I think that Lisa is telling the truth.
How could he be so irresponsible to go around having sx without protection?!
I knew that all this was too good to be true. Just this morning, I was the happiest girl in the universe but Lisa had to come and reign on my parade!
What will happen to us now if she’s pregnant?!
Will he leave me for her? But he loves me and he doesn’t have to be with her to raise the child, right?!
But what if Alicia sides with Lisa?

I have so many questions on my head and I feel like am about to explode!
” Alex is the father and he knows it! Am not lying. ”
Alex turns to her giving her a deadly glare.
” You drugged me Lisa, didn’t you? I had my doubts about it but now am sure and this was your plan all along! ” he says through gritted teeth, trying not to lash out on her.
She drugged him! Lisa might be crazy but I never expected this from her. But that kind of gives me some sort of relief, atleast he’s not as irresponsible as i thought he was.
” I didn’t drug.. ”
” Don’t you dare lie to me!Alex cuts in. ” I was stupid to fall for your trap but even if you are pregnant, I’ll never, ever be with you. ”
” Okay.. I admit that I did spike your drink, but that doesn’t change the fact that am pregnant, and it doesn’t matter if you love me or not, you still have to be responsible for the baby! ” Lisa says smiling with no shame at all.
I just want to smack that smile of her face so damn bad, right now!
” That’s if the child is his, ” I say glaring at her.
” Look Vee.. I know that i sleep around a lot, but I don’t do it without protecting myself, am not that stupid. ”
” You think?” Rita asks.
” Ma’am, “Lisa says turning to Alicia, who’s been awfully quiet. ” Alex is responsible for my pregnancy and I’ll do whatever you want just to prove it. ”
” You all know that there’s nothing i want more than a grandchild right now, but you are the last person I’d want to be the mother, ” she says getting up and looks disgustingly at Lisa. ” The fact that you had to drug my son to get pregnant, shows how pathetic you are! If you’re in fact carrying my grandchild, I’ll make sure to take the baby from you the second it’s born, no grandchild of mine will be raised by someone like you! ” Alicia says, clearly meaning every word and her tone kind of scares me.
Lisa is beyond shocked! Am sure she was expecting Alicia to take her side but jokes on her.
” Come on Alicia, ” George says. ” You know you just can’t take a child away from its mother with no valid reasons. ”
” George please! With money everything is possible, ” Alicia says with a smile. ” And anyway, I’d only be doing the child a favour. ”
” Is this the kind of drama you want in your life? ” George asks his eyes on me. ” You know if Lisa is telling the truth, she and the baby will always be apart of yours and Alex’s life. Alex will have to be there for the baby and take you for granted at some point, and you’ll regret ever choosing him over me. ”
” Shut the fuck up George! ” Alex says angrily walking towards him but I grab his hand to stop him.
” You should be ashamed of yourself vee, ” Lisa says. ” Look at what you did to their friendship. ”
” Look who’s talking, ” Rita says throwing daggers at her. ” You have the guts to say that to Vee, while you are the one who’s forcing yourself on someone who’s clearly not interested in you. You even went to the extent of drugging him, just so you could be with him and you dare talk about shame?! ”
” Listen Lisa, you can be sure I’ll take care of the baby if it’s mine. We’ll find a day and have a DNA test but in the mean time, the both of you should leave my house, ” Alex says his eyes playing ping pong from George to Lisa.
” Is it even possible to have a DNA test before the baby is born? ” Rita asks.
” Yes it is. There are risks but it will be more safer if we wait for a couple of weeks, then find out the truth. You should stay away from my son until then Lisa, ” Alicia says.
” Okay… Am willing to do whatever you want, ” Lisa says her eyes on Alex. ” I know you think am crazy Alex, but I’ll never lie to you about something as important as this. I love you and that’s why I did this. If you could just accept me, we can be one big happy family. Stop making this difficult already, ” she shamelessly says, lifting her hands up to his cheek but I slap it away, shocking everyone including myself.
The nerve of this girl! She really pushing her luck!
I’ve never been a violent person but how dare she try to touch him in front of me?!
” Don’t touch him! ” I tell her giving her a murderous look.” You might be carrying his child but he is and will always be mine! He loves me Lisa, you get that?! Keep your hands away from my man! and get the fuck out already! ”
With that, Lisa turns angrily and storms out, and George gives me one last glances before following her out.
” Wow Vee! What a way to mark your territory, ” Rita says all smiles. ” I loved it! ”
” So.. You two are actually together now, for real this time ? ” Alicia asks.
” Yes mum, we are. ”
” Well… I know you lying to me about the baby and your relationship was so messed up! but it was partly my fault and am actually glad your two are together, ” Alicia says and am happy that she understands and didn’t end up having a heart attack!
Her finding out the truth wasn’t that bad after all.
” Thanks for understanding Alicia,” I say smiling lightly at her and she smiles back.
” Of course and am hoping nothing that Lisa girl said will affect your relationship. A woman who uses a child to get a man is not fit enough to be a mother and if she’s really pregnant, I wont let her keep my grandchild!
” You are not taking the baby away from her mum. She might be crazy but she’s still the mother, and we are not even sure she’s pregnant yet! ” Alex says.
” Okay.. Anyway, I came over to help you guys with the moving. Let’s go to your room Ava, I think this two need to talk. ”
Ava walks behind her as they walk to the stairs, and we silently watch them until they are out of sight.
” Am really sorry about all this Vee, ” Alex say as we both sit. ” That night Lisa called me and threatened to take her life if I didn’t go to her. I really had no idea that she was planning. Am really sorry, please don’t leave me, ” he says taking my hand, his voice laced with regret, fear and sadness.
” What makes you think that I’d break up with you? She drugged you and it’s not like you cheated on me, am not that inconsiderate Alex, ” I say and he looks at me in disbelief.
” Really?!” he asks smiling from ear to ear.
” Yes real. I won’t deny that am kind of scared of whats ahead but am done letting people get in between me and my happiness. I’ve lived most of my life hating myself and feeling worthless but you changed all that when you accepted me with all my flaws and so… I’ll accept you with all yours. ”
” You are an angel! ” he says his lovely eyes gazing into mine. ” Thank you for not pushing me away. Your sister was so right, am dmn lucky to have you. ”
” I know, ” I say and we both smile. ”
” Do you think that Lisa is really pregnant? ” he asks the worried look back on his face.
” I do. She wouldn’t have come her and agree to take the test if she wasn’t. The question here is if the baby is yours and what we are going to do if it is. ”
” If the baby is mine, I’ll surely take care of it, and I promise never to take you for granted like George implied. I won’t let anything come between us, ever! And I don’t care if the everyone plots against us. It’s going to be us against the world, ” he says cupping my cheek.
” Us against the world, huh?! I love that ! ” I say with a smirk biting my lip and he leans closer, giving me a breath taking kss.
I don’t know if this is what they call stupid in love ,but I believe every word coming out of his mouth.
I know that he truly loves me. I can see it by the way he looks at me, touches me and the way he ksses me. He makes me feel so good and alive in every way and am not letting that go.
Am going to fight for this love as long as i can and as long as he wants me.
