Episode fifty seven
Vee
Alex drove like a maniac and luckily they was no traffic.We get to Mikes apartment in about twenty minutes , accompanied by the police.
The police waste no time and kick the door open searching the whole house but there’s no sign of Mike or Maya.
” Maybe Maya managed to get away from him, right? She could be on her way home right now” I say hopefull ,praying for it to be true.
” We can’t be sure about that yet Vee, ” Alex says.
” We found this outside the house , ” one of the cops says holding Mayas phone in his hands and I feel a cold wave pass through me.
” It’s my sisters phone, she had it when I last talked to her, ” I say walking to him.
Apart of me was still in denial, hoping that Maybe Maya’s phone’s battery was low or the network was bad, and that’s why we were cut off but this is proof enough that Mikes got her!
I hope Mike doesn’t hurt her! My sister has barely recovered yet!
” And how long was that? ”
” About.. Twenty minutes ago. ”
” He maybe anywhere in the city right now but the good news is that, if he’s trying to use her to get to you, he’ll surely call you and we can use that to get to him. We just have to tap your phone, so we can track him down the moment he calls. ”
” So.. What you are saying is that you are just going to sit around and do nothing, until he calls?! What if he doesn’t? ” I ask almost yelling ,tears flowing from my eyes. “Don’t you understand that every single second that passes by is critical for my sister! Who’s knows what that Je.rk is doing to her! ”
” Vee, please calm down,” Alex says pulling me against him. ” I promise we’ll do everything we can to find her. ”
” You don’t understand Alex, Mike isn’t that stupid! Am sure he knows he’ll be caught the second he calls me. ”
” I know you are right but there’s still a possibility he might call, ” Alex says wiping away my tears.
” So, what else are you guys going to do? ” i ask the cop.
” We already have men out there looking into every place that Mike could have gone to. Am sorry but that’s all we can do right now, ” the cop says looking apologetic and the walks away.
” It’s all my fault, ” I say sobbing on Alex’s chest .” I should have told her about Mike and prevented all this from happening. I’ll never be able to live with myself if anything happens to her. ”
” Hey..its not your fault ,okay, ” Alex says his hands running through my hair.” The doctor asked us not to give her any bad news. You hid everything from her for her own Good .”
” Hey.. Any news? Did you find her? ” Nicks asks walking towards us. Alex called him on our way here and told him everything.
” The police found her phone but we still have no idea where she is, ” Rita answers her voice breaking.
” We’ll find her ” Nick says giving Rita a tight hug.
“Hi Alex.” One of the cops says walking to us.
” Max! What are you doing here, “Alex asks and he doesn’t look happy to see him.
” I’ll be the one incharge of this case and I want you to know that we are doing everything we can to find your sister,but I also need your help and cooperation,” he says looking at me.
” That won’t be possible Max, I don’t trust you! and there’s no way I’ll let you be known charge here! ”
” Come on Alex! It’s been almost two years already! Can’t we just put our past aside and work on this case together?! ”
” Of course we can, ” I say looking at Alex. “Look, i don’t know what happened between the two of you but can we get back to what brought us here already! ”
” Yes vee is right and Max, we are ready to help with whatever you want, ” Nick says.
“Good!” The so called Max says looking at Alex who’s busy glaring at him .” we’ve already watched the CCTV footage and it clearly shows that Mike drugged your sister before carrying her out to the car,” he says and my heart drops to my stomach.
Hasn’t my poor sister being through enough already!
“From what we saw in the parking lot , we are sure that Mike wasn’t working alone, since the car sped off the second he got in. Unfortunately we can’t quite see who the driver is and the car didn’t have any plates. Do you guys by any chance know any of Mike’s close friends?”
” Yes, I do know two of his friends and I know where they live too, ” Nick says.
” Great! That’s a good place to stay our search.We should get going, ” Max says.
” Am coming with you, ” Alex Says.
” Me too,” I say.
” You can’t come with us Vee, this might be dangerous . You should go home and wait for Mike to call. I promise to keep you posted, ” Alex says and I nod. ” Okay.. I’ll see you in a few minutes, ” he says kssing my forehead and I watch as they walk out.

Ava
We already back home and we have three police officers with us. An hour has already passed , but Mike hasn’t called yet! and am thinking he’s not going to. Alex had called about twenty minutes ago, and they are on their way back home.
They also have nothing yet!
This is so unfair!
Why is Maya always caught up in the middle of everything!
She’s the sweetest person I know and this shouldn’t be happening to her!
Vee hasn’t said a word or even sat down ever since we got here.She’s being pacing back and forth this whole time,staring at her phone . She’s really scared and worried and I don’t blame her. I’ve tried everything to calm her down but nothing worked!
My phone rings and I excuse and walk to the kitchen.
It’s an unknown number.
” Hallo.”
” Hi, Rita, is it? ”
” Yes ,and who am I talking to ?'”
” Am Peter, Violets and Maya’s uncle. ”
” What?! I didn’t know that they had an uncle! ”
” Well.. Now you do. Anyway,i called to inform you that I have Maya. ”
” What?! You found her! That’s great news! Vee will be so happy! I’ll go tell Vee right away! ” I say in excitement.
” No.. you’ve got everything all wrong. There’s nothing great about this news.I am the who kidnapped her and I need you to help me talk to vee,without the police finding out ” he says and that gets me confused.
” What ?!”
” Yes, you heard right. Vee and i have never seen eye to eye and there’s something she has that belongs to me. That’s why I had to kidnap her sister.”
” How could you do that to your own niece?!” I ask in disbelief. I still can’t believe what he just said.
” I could tell you how but it’s a long story. Want to meet up for coffee, so I can tell you about it? ” he ask sarcastically with a laugh. ” Stop wasting my time and go get Vee! ”
” If you want to talk to Vee, why don’t you just call her? ”
“Am not stupid okay?! I know that the police must have tapped her phone, waiting for me or Mike to call and that’s the reason I called you, you are the only link to her right now, ”
” And what makes you think I’ll help you out? Am going straight to the cops and tell them all about this! ”
” Don’t be stupid little girl! Maya almost lost her life once because of you and if you do anything crazy, I won’t think twice before killing her, and it will all be your fault! Will you be able to live with that?” he asks and my head is already aching. What the hell do I do now!
” Stop thinking to much, just go and get Vee. Don’t you even care for the girl that literally took a bullet for you? Think fast little girl,” he says with a serious tone.
” Okay.. I need proof that you’ve got Maya and then I’ll go get Vee for you . ”
” Give me a second, ” he says and then hangs up.
A few seconds later he sends me a picture of Maya all tied up in a chair. She looks so pale and exhausted! Her eyes are all puffy ,and a tear drop from my eyes as I look at the photo.
What do i do now? If I do what he wants I’ll be risking Vees life too. I know she’s desperate and is willing to do anything to save her sister !
As am busy contemplating on what to do, a message pops up on my phone.
