FINAL MISSION

(Afternoon)

Agent Mackerel came to meet Desmond at the prison after she received the address.
” how did you get here?…….how are you here?, and what happened to your face” agent mackerel asked curiously after they met.
” Hassan……..it’s part of his plan, it’s all part of his plans, he indeed sure of what he’s doing ” Desmond said.
” I’m sorry I couldn’t save your family ” she said.
” what about the two kids?” Desmond asked.
” they are with Simon, I already told him to go into hiding……to keep them away from danger” she said.
” Thank you” desmond said.
” there’s something you should know ” she said.
” what? ” Desmond asked.
” I might have provoked him……. I killed his men and burned down his house” she said.
” whaat?……why would you do something like that?…..you knew he’s holding them hostage, he could do anything to retaliate ” Desmond said.
” I know…….but I think that’s not what he wanted, if he wanted them dead he would’ve done so already ” she said.
” and you ready to gamble on that? ” desmond said.
” that’s not my intention, I was hoping that could ruin whatever his plan is…… I was trying to smoke him out ” she replied.
” did it work?” desmond asked.
” I don’t know……… I didn’t notice anything ” she said then the colonel and his brother appeared.
” Agent Mackerel” the colonel called and she stood up and saluted him.
” Sir ” she said.
” Good to see you here” he said.
” same Sir ” she replied.
” You will be released by tomorrow so hang in there okay ” the colonel said facing Desmond.
” Alright Sir” Desmond said.
” what about this person that’s after you?…….do you know who it is?” the DIG asked.
” yes Sir…….and the person is very dangerous ” Desmond said.
” Who is it?” DIG asked.
” There’s something you need to know first but we can’t talk here, we need to go somewhere private ” desmond said.
” Fine, follow me” the colonel said and they all followed him.
The colonel took them to a secure place where they could speak freely and they all sat down.
” First I think you should know the person that Is after me” he said and they all stared at him.
” His name is Hassan Al-Kareem ” Desmond said and only the colonel seems to be surprised by this.
” Al-Kareem?……. You mean the terr©rist? ” the colonel said.
” yes Sir, the terrorist” Desmond confirmed.
” wait what?……what terr©rist?” the DIG asked.
” You mean I was after a terr©rist all this while?” agent mackerel said.
” I killed their leader and now he’s coming after me” Desmond said.
” is this about the one we have you transferred to the camp?” the colonel asked.
” No Sir, it goes way more than that ” desmond said.
” what are you talking about Mike?” DIG asked.
” I killed their first leader Yussuff Al-Kareem ” Desmond said and the colonel was confused.
” what are you talking?…….the Army killed him and his combatants in the forest……..there’s no record of a police officer being there talkless of killing him” the colonel said.
” Yes Sir, you’re right cause I didn’t kill him as a police officer, I killed him as a soldier ” Desmond said.
” what are talking Mike?…… I’m lost ” DIG Martins said confused.
” I was a soldier and my name is not Mike ” Desmond said and they are all shocked.
” whaaaat” they said in unison.
” Not again” Agent mackerel said.
” My name…..is……Desmond Dasilva, formal Soldier, Rank Staff sergeant ” Desmond revealed.
” Waoow” agent mackerel exclaimed.
” I still don’t understand, why disguise yourself with all of this?……what happened? ” DIG asked.
” After the extinction of the terrorist, I was on my way back home with my father and younger sister and we had an accident” he said.
” I was the only survivor ” Desmond said.
” Oh My God ” agent mackerel exclaimed.
” Wait…… Who’s your father? ” the DIG asked.
” The late commissioner of police in Clifton city, commissioner Abraham Dasilva ” he answered and both the DIG and his brother were surprised.
” Whaaaaat” they both said in unison.
” are you saying your father was the commissioner in Clifton city and your mother is Hannah Dasilva? ” the DIG asked and Desmond was surprised.
” You knew them?” Desmond asked.
” yeah, they were family friends……..your sisters knew us but we never see you cause your father said you’re in the Army, so we never get to meet ” the DIG said.
” I can’t believe this” the colonel said.
” your father was a great man” colonel said.
” you didn’t come to pay your respects, you didn’t even show up at the burial ” Desmond said.
” we are so sorry about that………..our family traveled to attend a very important program” the DIG said.
” Yes Mik, umm Desmond, by the time we got back we heard about your father, your house and your family” the colonel said.
” we tried to find out who was behind it, it was then we heard the news about the death of other officers involved in their death” the DIG said.
” Lemme guess, you’re behind that” the colonel said.
” Yes Sir, That was me, I did that” Desmond said which only add more to their surprise.
” how did you survive?…….what really happened?” the colonel asked.
” I happened to see them coming so I got to them first, it was there I knew who were behind our accident ” Desmond said.
” so what are you saying?……that your mother and sisters are alive?” the DIG said.
” Yes sir, we had to changed our identity for us to be safe” he said.
” Oh God, oh thank God,….. I can’t believe this” DIG said excitedly.
” where are they now?…… I need to see them” DIG said.
” which bring us to all of this Sir…….everything has been compromised ” desmond said.
” what are you talking about?” the colonel asked.
” They’ve been kidnapped” he said.
” Whaaaaat” they both exclaimed again.
” They were kidnapped by a man named Hassan Al-Kareem ” he said.
” Al-Kareem?, I thought the last Al-Kareem died at the camp” the colonel said.
” not this one, and this one happens to know all about me, he knows everything and he wants revenge ” Desmond said.
” he had a hand in me being in jail, he had a hand in what happened between me and the inmates” Desmond said.
” How did he know you’re in Russia in the first place?, I thought it was supposed to be a covert operation ” DIG said.
” exactly, how about I let your brother answer that ” Desmond said facing the colonel.
” wait what?……you think I’m working with the terr©rist?” the colonel said.
” No Desmond, you’re wrong about that” DIG said.
” Mike, are you sure of what you’re saying? ” agent mackerel asked.
” I don’t know but Hassan said someone in the Army is working for him, and with the information he got, he’s got to be someone in high authority ” Desmond said.
” This is not my doing….. This is not me, I don’t know who’s behind it” the colonel said.
” is there anyone else that know about my arrest in Russia?” Desmond asked.
” Yes……just two other people, Captain Rawlins and lieutenant Marcus Philip ” col said.
” it’s done according to protocol for me to give feedback of every operation ” he added.
” Then it must be among this two people ” Desmond said.
” perhaps you’re wrong cause this two would never associate with the terrorist ” the Col said.
” who suggested that I should be chosen for the Russia mission? ” Desmond asked.
” it’s……..it’s Captain Rawlins ” the colonel said.
” Rawlins? ” Desmond said.
” yes….he suggested we use you for the mission, he believed you could get it done” Col said.
” Then we have our man” Desmond said.
” Rawlins? ” the col said surprised.
” I remembered that Rawlins is among the soldiers that survived the terrorist ambush, he must’ve sent me along with two other soldiers with hope that we will be caught” Desmond said.
” Hassan told me he had one of his men mentioned me for this mission ” Desmond said.
” I can’t believe there’s a traitor among my men” the col said angrily then he pulled out his phone and dialled someone’s number.
? ” Hello Major Johnson ” the colonel said.
? ” Colonel SIR” the major replied.
? ” Have captain Rawlins reported to duty today?” he asked.
? ” Yes sir, I just left him” the major answered.
? ” do me a favor and cuff him right away and bring him to the Jevton Prison immediately” Col. Said.
? ” Sir? ” major asked in surprise.
? ” that’s an order ” Col. Said.
? ” Yes Sir ” the major said then ended the call.
” That was Major Johnson, he’s one of the good ones, he will bring him here in a few minutes” col. Said.
” That’s great, he will tell us where they are keeping them” DIG martins said.
” Actually, I don’t think that’s necessary cause I know how to find them” Desmond said.
” you do?” agent mackerel asked.
” I gave the three of them a ring with a tracker in it” Desmond said.
” if you do then why didn’t you say so all this while, we could’ve act on it” agent mackerel said.
” I didn’t say anything because someone knew about our move, I need to know who that is before I can proceed” Desmond said.
” Fine I guess you will be needing your laptop ” agent mackerel said.
” that’s right, do you have it?” Desmond asked.
” along with your other toys but I have to go get it” agent mackerel said.
” okay” Desmond said.
” I’ll be back ” she said then left immediately.
” I’m so sorry about your father Desmond, I never knew you’re his son” DIG said.
” I guess faith brought us together ” Desmond said.
” yeah indeed” he said as they hugged.
” I promise after all of this is over…….i’ll make everything right” the DIG said and Desmond smiled.
” Thank you sir”

(Some minutes later)

Major Johnson brought the Captain to the prison with cuffs in his hands and took him to the colonel.
” Colonel?…….what’s going on?” the major asked.
” this man here is an informant for the terr©rist, An adversary ” the colonel said and the major gasped in shock.
” you’re making a big mistake colonel……..all he wants is revenge nothing else and he wants no other person than blackbird ” the Captain said.
” how dare you?………you sneak into my base right under my nose and you did all these” Col said.
” I won’t deny any of this cause I know you will find out eventually……..do whatever you wish to me, I don’t care” the Captain said.
” we don’t need to do anything to you” Desmond said as he entered the place along with the DIG.
” no matter what we do to you, you won’t budge cause that’s what terrorist do” desmond said.
” Sir, did he have anyone he cares about?” Desmond asked.
” yes he does, he has a wife and two kids” col answered.
” then we have our leverage against him” desmond said and his countenance changed.
” don’t you dare go near my family….. they are not part of this ” he growled.
” why?…….didn’t your boss did the same to me” Desmond said.
” That’s because you deserve it, you caused it all” the Captain said.
” And you caused yours too, Sir take me to his family ” Desmond said to the colonel.
” waiiit, wait……… I’ll tell you what I know” the Captain said.
” Go on” the colonel said.
” He wanted revenge and he want you to watch as he killed your family one after the other” the Captain said.
” where is he? ” Desmond asked.
” I don’t know” he replied.
” where is he keeping them?” Desmond asked again.
” I don’t know that either ” he answered.
” don’t you dare lie to me” Desmond said.
” that’s the truth……no one knows his plan, he does the thinking by himself…. He alone knows what he’s planning ” he said just then agent mackerel entered.
” here ” she said handling the bag to him.
” thanks ” Desmond said then removed the laptop from the bag then a phone started ringing.
The phone turned out to be the captain’s phone, the colonel took the phone from his pocket.
” who’s this? ” the colonel asked showing him the caller ID and he refused to answer.
” Answer the question” Col. Said.
” He’s the one” he said and everyone stopped, desmond quickly collect the phone and connect it to laptop.
” Answer it and put it on speaker” Desmond said and the colonel did so but no one said anything not even the caller.
? ” I guess since no one is saying anything that means what I heard is true” Hassan said but no one responded.
? ” I’m coming for you, you crazy ba$tard……..I promise you” desmond said.
? ” So nice to hear your voice again, how’s your time in the Russian prison?, While you’re away your family and I had a chat” Hassan said.
? ” if you dare touch a single hair, I swear I’ll kill you” Desmond said.
? ” enough with all that, I want you to come for me cause that’s what I wanted, but if you’re going to do so….. You will do it my way” Hassan said.
? ” I knew the Captain has been caught and not because I didn’t know that but because that’s what I wanted according to my plan” Hassan said.
? ” I knew you’re going to put two plus two together and figure out that he’s the one, which is why I gave you a clue about my informant at the prison” Hassan said.
? ” i know you will try to trace this call but not to worry, I want you to find it……I want you to know my location” he said.
? ” at first I wanted it to be tomorrow but I changed my mind, it’s happening tonight ” he said.
? ” what are you talking about?” Desmond said.
? ” I want you to come to the location you just traced in the next three hours, and you’re to come alone” Hassan said.
? ” Fine, i’ll be there” Desmond said.
? ” don’t try to be smart Desmond, you know me very well……..i’ll know, there’s no way you can counter my plan” he said.
? ” I said fine…….i’ll come alone, what about my family?” Desmond asked.
? ” They are safe for now…..and if you want it to stay that way, you must do as you’re told” Hassan said then ended the call.
” Take him away Major Johnson and make sure he spill out the name of the rest” the colonel said.
” Yes Colonel” Major Johnson said then took him away.
” do you have the location?” agent mackerel asked.
” yeah…… But I need to be sure it correspond with the location of my family ” Desmond said then he track the ring he gave his family.
” Damn, I knew it” Desmond said.
” clever bastard” agent mackerel added.
” what? ” the DIG asked.
” the tracker on the rings shows two locations, two of them is in an unknown place while the last one is in the exact location of hassan” agent mackerel explained.
” they are not together ” DIG said.
” yes Sir, he’s holding one of them with him”
” do you think he knew about the ring?” agent mackerel asked.
” I don’t know, I don’t think so cause even my family don’t know about the tracker ” Desmond said.
” we have no other choice but to go in two team ” agent mackerel said.
” No, I can’t put any of you to this……this is my mess, this is my cross……you have to let me carry it by myself ” desmond said.
” we can’t do that, I for one can’t………I’m here to help” agent Mackerel said.
” Same with me…….. Count me in” the colonel said.
” All my life I’ve been acting like a coward…….it’s time for me to stand up and do the right thing ” DIG Martins said.
” Sir?………I’m sorry I can’t put any of you to this dangerous task” desmond said.
” You’re not putting us do anything Desmond…….I’m doing this for my friend, your father” the colonel said.
” you’ve always been there for me Desmond, it’s time I repay the favour” the DIG said.
” Let’s do this Desmond…….Let’s take them down ” agent mackerel said.
” Fine…….LET’S DO THIS”
