“Thanks for hiring me boss. I promise I won’t let you down” Yvonne, Nicholas’s new secretary said.
“Sure, I don’t tolerate tardiness and slacking off so I expect you to be consistent and serious on your post” Nicholas said and she nodded.
“You may leave and also work starts tomorrow. 8am” Nicholas said and she nodded again before standing.
Yvonne stood up and curtsied respectfully before leaving.
“Gosh!! He’s so handsome!!” Yvonne squealed, fanning herself with her hands as she left.

RODRIGUEZ VILLA**
Valerie opened her eyes and moaned out as she moved on the bed. She sat up and rubbed her eyes.
That’s when she noticed she was putting on a think and oversized sweater.
Valerie closed her eyes when memories of everything that happened yesterday flooded her head. She shook her thoughts away before picking her phone up.
The first thing she fell on was the scandal of yesterday. It was all over the news, how Xavier got arrested.
She went further and her eyes widened when she saw a video Nicholas released this morning. In the video, he was explaining what happened..
That the marriage was an arranged marriage done against his will and that forced him to breakup with Brittany.. How he canceled the marriage so there’s no more marriage.
Valerie threw her phone aside and fell back on the bed, rubbing her throbbing forehead. She covered herself back with the duvet.
Valerie went back to sleep..

RESTAURANT**
“I love this chocolate cake” Alex said as he ate his cake.
“You should taste mine” Angel said and scooped a spoon of her cake. She fed him with it.
“Wow! Delicious” Alex smiled.
Brittany smiled as she watched them eat while she drank her coffee.
“Gosh! You eat like a pig Alex” Angel said, cleaning his mouth with a tissue.
“No you’re the pig..” Alex said.
Angel frowned and hit his head.
“Hey!!” Alex frowned.
“Respect your elders” Angel smirked.
They began arguing loudly such that the other people in the restaurant had to turn to them. Brittany smiled and shook her head.
“Quiet down you two.. C’mon eat up, let’s head home. You have your homework to do Alex and Angel you need to get ready since you’re going to school tomorrow” Brittany said.
Angel and Alex glared at each other for a while before they continued eating their cake in silence. Brittany chuckled..

NIGHT, NICHOLAS’S MANSION**
Nicholas got home and sighed tiredly. Today was quite an hectic day as usual. He pulled on his tie as he went to his room.
“Tell the cook that I won’t be having dinner tonight. I’m not hungry” He said to a maid who nodded and left..
He got to his room and dropped his suitcase on the floor before going to the window. He began staring out of the window and sighed loudly.
His phone suddenly beeped and he brought it out. He paused when he saw it was a pic of Brittany and him.
It was a pic he took back then in California, he pecked her cheek and she was having that usual frown on her face before he took the selfie.
Nicholas swiped up the screen and saw it was a notification from his new secretary, telling him that they’ll be having a meeting tomorrow.
He replied to her and threw his phone on the bed before heading to the bathroom.
