Chapter 63
Martin was seen typing on his computer when the door opened and Evelyn came in with a coffee in her hand.
“Hey! I brought coffee for you,” She dropped the coffee on the table and Martin just nodded still typing on his laptop.
Evelyn sighed, folding with her fingers nervously and Martin noticed that. He raised his head slowly to look at her.
“Anything?” He asked softly and Evelyn gulped down. One could tell she was scared and it really annoyed Martin.
He really hates it now, when Evelyn is scared of him.
“Hmmm Doctor Celeb said my mum requesst to see me so I will want to close early from work today,” She said and Martin found it difficult to believe that was the reason she was scared.
She really wouldn’t deny her of visiting her mother who he had also regarded as his mother too.
“Hmmm okay I will come …..”
“No…no I want to go alone,” Evelyn cut him off and he scoffed staring at her suspiciously.
A hint of lie was shown on her face with the way she was avoiding his gaze.
“Seriously Eve, I wanna come with you,”
“Don’t worry Martin, I can go alone,” She said faking a smile and Martin scoffed.
“I never ask for your permission. I am coming with you,” He replied, his voice showing he was very serious and Evelyn sighed. She stared at him before walking out of the office.
She really didn’t want to visit her mother, she wanted to use the opportunity to visit her father and she didn’t want Martin to know about it.
She sighed as she walked into her office only to see Elizabeth with her colleague alongside with her.
“Hey Lizzy,” She called her by her nickname and Elizabeth just waved.
“Hello beauty,” Andy waved and she just faked a smile at him. She didn’t want Martin to get angry, because he get angry unnecessary and that might lead to another fight between the two of them. She turned to his office and just like she guess, he was staring at them.
“Anything?” She asked turning to look back at them.
“Yeah I was thinking if we could have lunch together,” Elizabeth said and Evelyn tapped her head lightly like she was thinking and almost immediately a message pop on her phone.
“Don’t accept. We are going to have lunch together,” She read the message, and she could not help but smile. She turned to look at Martin who just smirked at her.
“Hmmm guys I don’t think I can, I am very busy with a file,” Eve said and they very dissapointed.
“I am sorry guys,” She pleaded.
“You know you don’t have to hide it. You should just tell us that your fiance does not want you to come with us,” Andy said and Evelyn huffed angrily at him.
“I don’t get it Andy. What is this with you and Martin,” Evelyn fired at him angrily and Andy just smirked.
He simply chuckled and walked out of the office. The others waved at her as she walked out of the office likewise.
“Seriously what the hell is wrong with this guy?” She taught to herself staring at his faded figure.
“You see the reason why I hate that guy,” Martin said walking Into the office and Evelyn rolled her eyes.
“I am kind of wondering if the word “hate” is related to you because I can tell almost all the guys I associate with, you don’t seem to like them,” Evelyn said and Martin chuckled.
“Yeah, but Haris is different,” he said, and Evelyn gasped in surprise. He never expected Martin to like Haris.
She could tell they were getting close, but she didn’t expect the fact that Martin was going to like him.
“I really like him so much. His words are like those of a brother.
Sometimes I think of him as my best friend, Cole. They are kind of the same,” he said, smiling as if he had thought of something.
“They both embody the true definition of best friends, and I am happy to have both of them in my life.
Haris is crazy but very serious when it comes to you. I thought he had feelings for you, but he didn’t.
One of the reasons I like him so much is that he takes care of you and my little Princess,” he said, and Evelyn burst into laughter.
“You know, I wonder how Ava came to like you in just one day. Haris has told me she can’t stop talking about you,” Evelyn said, and Martin chuckled.
“Well, let’s just say I’m cool,” he said, playfully adjusting his suit, and Evelyn burst into laughter.
