CHAPTER 14
Evelyn was arranging some files when the telephone rang, and she quickly picked it up.
?”I want you in my office in the next 2 minutes,” he said through the phone, and the line went dead.
“You called me,” Evelyn said quietly as she walked into the office. Martin was seated on the chair while drinking some wine.
“What is the time for the business date?” he asked as he drank from the wine.
“1 pm,” Evelyn replied, and he nodded.
“What happened to your face?” he asked, standing up from the chair, and Evelyn’s eyes widened.
She quickly used her hair to cover the black spot on her face, and he scoffed.
Evelyn knew it was the result of the sI.ap, and she didn’t want to tell him. It was going to be a bI.oodshed.
“Are you going to tell me who did it, or let me find out myself?
And when I do, trust me, you will be responsible if anything bad happens to him or her,” he said dangerously, and Evelyn knew he was serious, but she didn’t want to tell him.
While they were dating, he had beaten someone to a pulp because they had kcked her, and she didn’t want that to happen.
(Flashback)
Evelyn was seen walking around the school building with her notes in her hand when almost immediately she felt the book being dragged away from her.
She turned around only to see Jacob, the school bvlly. He was one of the school bad boys, and most people were scared of him. She gulped down in fear, staring at him.
“You are so attractive, babe,” he had said, licking his lips $eductively, and Evelyn moved back uncomfortably.
“Can I have my notes back?” Evelyn said, and he smirked before moving towards her while she moved back.
“Can I have a one night stand with you?” he had said, and Evelyn scoffed.
“I’m sorry, I can’t, so please hand over my note to me,” Evelyn said.
The young man groaned angrily before tearing up the note, causing Evelyn’s eyes to widen.
“How dare you do that!” she yelled angrily, grabbing hold of his shirt. He k!cked her, causing her to fall weakly to the floor.
“Jerk!” he cvrsed, walking away. Most of the students passing by stared at him with pity.
“Eve!” Martin yelled as he rushed towards her.
“What happened?” he asked, and Evelyn faked a smile.
“It’s nothing,” she replied, not wanting him to cause a scene.
“Jacob k!cked her,” one of the students yelled, and Martin’s eyes turned red. He was really angry and wanted to teach Jacob a lesson.
He hated when someone hurt her. He cared so much about her.
“Martin, please don’t do anything stupid,” Evelyn said, but he was already running towards Jacob.
“Hey, you son of a jerk!” he called. Immediately, Jacob turned around and Martin landed a heavy pvnch on his nose, making bI.ood splash out. Jacob couldn’t breathe properly.
“How dare you k!ck her!” he yelled, sitting on top of him and pvnching him with all his might. By now, Jacob was already half-d.ead.
Almost immediately, two hefty men rushed towards Martin and held him back while he struggled to get away from their grip.
“I want to kll him. He hurt my girlfriend!” he yelled.
“Call the ambulance. He can’t breathe,” a woman said, rushing towards Jacob.
End of flashback.
That day was like h’ll. Because of him, they had to employ more security, and she didn’t want that to happen again.
“You know me too well, Eve. I hate to repeat myself,” he said, and Evelyn sighed.
It was better she told him than letting him find out himself. He was really going to deal with Grace in a very bad way when he found out on his own.
“Well, it’s your ex-mate, Grace,” he finally answered, and this time his eyes were scary, dangerous, and his hands were itching for destruction.
“How dare she!” he yelled and ran out of the office.
