CHAPTER 18
“Isn’t that Martin, the owner of the biggest technology company in New York City?” a girl yelled, and everyone who was passing by turned to look at him.
“Why is he kssing that girl?”
“Are they dating?”
“Aww, he is so handsome and hot,” people commented as they walked past, and Evelyn became shy. She glared angrily at him.
“We are in public,” she said, and he smirked before wrapping his arm around her waist.
“I like it that way “I want people to know you belong to me,” he said, and Evelyn scoffed.
“We are not back together, Martin, so don’t think that way,” she said, and Martin frowned angrily.
He was really hurt, though.
“Let’s go in,” he said and walked inside, and Evelyn just sighed before walking inside as well.
It was a restaurant.
The interior was beautiful, with fancy chairs and tables.
“Mr. Martin,” a man called, walking towards them.
“Please come this way, Mrs. Tasha is waiting for you,” the man said, and they both followed him.
“Mr. Martin,” Tasha said softly and hugged Martin, who pushed her off gently, while Tasha chuckled in embarrassment.
“Please sit,” they both sat down. Mrs. Tasha stared at Evelyn, and she stared back at her disgustedly, making the shy girl lower her head.
She didn’t like the way Tasha was staring at her.
“Can you please stop staring at her that way? You are making her feel uncomfortable,” Martin said angrily, not liking the way Tasha was looking at Evelyn.
“Whatever. Who the h’ll is she?” she asked.
“She is my girl… I mean, she is my secretary,” Evelyn quickly cut him off. She could tell he was about to say “girlfriend.”
She glared at him, and Martin chuckled, winking at her at the same time.
“Well, I am really sorry for being late,” he said, and Tasha smiled.
Wondering who Tasha is?
She is the owner of a popular business company that deals with cosmetics and more.
Evelyn entered her office, and the first thing she saw was a rose flower on the table, with a letter placed next to it.
It had a beautiful design with love stickers on it, making it look pretty.
“Who put this here?” she questioned herself but received no reply.
She opened the letter and read it slowly.
“Evelyn, it is February 14 yet again, and I just want to write this letter to you, love of my life, my heartbeat, my everything.
We are not on good terms, though, but I just want you to know I really love you. You are someone special to me, someone I cherish so much, and I want to grow old with you.
You are a very pretty damsel that I want to spend the rest of my life with, and I hope that dream comes true.”
“HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, SWEETHEART,” from Martin ??
A smile crept onto her face as she read it, but then she suddenly frowned.
“I really don’t want to be with him. Right, Evelyn?” she sighed and sat down on the chair. Almost immediately, the door opened, revealing Charlotte.
“So, how was your outing with my brother?” Charlotte asked in a teasing tone as she walked into her office.
They were back from the business date, which lasted about two hours, trying to negotiate with Martin to sign a contract with her company, which was going bankrupt.
“Yeah, Charlotte was yet to leave.”
“It was just a business date with one of his clients, so it doesn’t concern me,” she said, and Charlotte rolled her eyes.
“What about the picture that’s going viral now?” she said, and Evelyn scoffed, confused.
