CHAPTER 19
She didn’t understand what Charlotte was talking about.
“What the h’ll are you talking about?” she questioned.
“Here,” she showed the latter her phone, and Evelyn’s eyes widened.
“How… how… I mean, damn it,” she yelled.
“I think you should just settle whatever conflict you have with my brother and start dating again,” Charlotte said, and Evelyn scoffs.
“Never,” she replied and walked out of the office.
She pushed the door open harshly, making Martin flinch.
“What the heck!” he yelled.
“You caused all this. Now the picture is going viral,” Evelyn yelled, and Martin rested his back on his chair, staring at her.
“I like it that way. People will know I am yours now,” he said, and Evelyn huffed but didn’t say anything.
“Did you see the letter?” Martin asked, somehow blushing, and Evelyn chuckled but then frowned.
“I know you are trying to get back with me, Martin, but I will never be in a relationship with you ever again,” she said. Martin stood up immediately and grabbed hold of her hand harshly.
“Why?”
“Because you are dangerous, Martin. You get angry easily, too overprotective and possessive, and I don’t like it that way,” Evelyn said.
She was tired of keeping it. She was still in love with him, but she didn’t want to be at the same time.
A man that can kill for her, yet hurt her. She couldn’t be with someone like that.
He made her afraid of him at the slightest thing, controlled her to do whatever pleased him, and was too possessive and overprotective.
“Really now, Evelyn?” he asked, and Evelyn nodded gently, but it didn’t seem to move Martin.
“Evelyn, what crime did I commit by being protective and possessive of you?”
“Yours is way too much. I can still remember how many boys you tried to hurt because you were possessive of me.
I can even remember how you beat a lecturer because he canceled my project.
You stopped me from having fun, Martin. You stopped me from making friends.
You made people stay far away from me, and many students wouldn’t dare come close to me.
My school life was boring because of you, and I don’t want to be in that same bondage anymore,” Evelyn said, tears flowing down from her eyes already, and Martin just sighed before grabbing hold of her cheek and wiping her tears away.
“I am sorry if I hurt you, Evelyn, but I can’t help it. I can’t stop being possessive if that’s what you’re trying to say because it’s part of me,” he said, and Evelyn scoffed, pushing him away.
“Forget you,” she yelled and rushed out of the office.
Martin sighed before sitting down on his chair.
Her speech moved some part of him, though, but he was not ready to change anytime soon.
He was possessive of what was his, and he really didn’t care about Evelyn’s speech. He knew for sure Evelyn belonged to him.
“What on earth am I seeing?” Haris muttered as he looked at his phone.
“I knew something was up with Evelyn and her boss,” Haris said with a smile on his face as he stared at the picture, which was going viral by now.
It was the picture of Evelyn and Martin at the restaurant, and within just one hour, it had 171k reactions and 20k comments.
He clicked on the comments button and smiled as he saw the comments.
“Aww, the girl is so cute.”
“I was thinking if Mr. Martin was going to stay single for life.”
“They are both perfect for each other.”
