Chapter 21
As Evelyn ran out of the office, she bumped into Haris. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw Haris standing in front of her.
She was shocked to see him here, and it wasn’t even time for her to leave.
“Hmmm, are you okay? Why are you crying?” he asked worriedly, moving closer to her, and Evelyn just faked a smile.
“I’m fine,” she said, and Haris just rolled his eyes.
“So, what are you doing here?” she asked in a surprised tone, and Haris scoffed.
“Aren’t you happy that I am here?” Haris asked, raising his eyebrows, and Evelyn chuckled nervously.
She looked at Martin’s office and sighed before turning to look at Haris.
She wouldn’t want Martin to come out and see Haris here, otherwise, he would get jealous and try to hurt Haris, and she couldn’t allow Martin to hurt him.
Haris is her brother, her savior, and she wouldn’t let Martin harm him.
“Come on, let’s go to my office,” she said, dragging his hand and moving toward her office.
“So, why are you here?” Evelyn asked as they entered her office.
“When were you going to tell me that your boss is your ex?” he asked calmly, but one could tell he was kind of disappointed in her.
Evelyn’s eyes widened, surprised that he already knew.
“How did you know about that?” she asked, and Haris scoffed.
“I saw the picture, and then I read your recent page in your diary,” Haris said, and she scoffed.
“Why would you read my diary?” she yelled angrily, and Haris sighed.
“I’m sorry, I was just tempted to read it,” Haris said, and Evelyn glared at him.
“I’m sorry too. I didn’t want to bother you about it,” she said, bending her head softly, and Haris hugged her immediately, patting her back.
“It’s okay. Are you okay working here?” Haris asked as they disengaged from the hug, and Evelyn nodded, giving him a tight smile.
“I’m fine,” she said, and Haris smiled before kssing her forehead, and the door opened immediately, revealing Martin.
Evelyn’s eyes widened, and she quickly made Haris hide behind her back.
Martin tilted his head, staring at Haris who was hiding behind her back, and he scoffed, staring at her with pure anger.
“What is he doing here?” he asked angrily, and Evelyn gulped in fear.
“He came to see me,” Evelyn replied, and Martin huffed, staring at Haris with pure hatred.
“Hi,” Haris waved, shivering in fear. He knew from the start that Martin never liked him, and that’s because he is close to Evelyn.
“Get out,” he said, referring to Haris.
“Hey, you can’t just chase him out. He is here to see me,” Evelyn yelled, and Martin glared angrily at him.
“And then he has the guts to kss your forehead.”
“It was just a friendly kss,” Haris said.
“Tell him to get the heck out. Now, or else I might do something you will hate me for,” Martin said.
“Okay, bestie, it’s better if I go,” Haris said, looking at the scary man in front of him.
He was sure he was really scary, and he knew he might do something terrible.
