Chapter 134
“Evelyn,” he called softly, trying to wipe away her tears, but she turned her face away from him.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
“You’re sorry? Even if the food is not perfect, do you really have to tell me to my face?
I spent hours cooking for you, and all you could say is the food is tasteless, you can’t eat it.
You didn’t even appreciate my efforts,” she yelled, and Martin smiled softly and made her look at him.
“I was just joking, Evelyn. The food tastes so good,” Martin said sincerely.
She stared at him softly, trying to see if he was just trying to make her feel better, but he was genuinely serious.
“Really?” she asked, looking down, while biting her lips, and Martin chuckled, raising her head up to meet his gaze.
“I am dmn serious, Evelyn. The meal is damn perfect,” he said, and Evelyn blushed.
“You cry too much,” he teased as he wiped away her tears.
“Come on,” he took her hand gently, and they both sat down.
“Please don’t joke around like that. I would really be hurt if you made such comments,” Evelyn said, and Martin nodded, smiling at her.

“Welcome back, boss,” the staff exclaimed as Martin walked by them, and he simply waved with a smile on his face.
“Oh my goodness. Did he just smile?”
“Wow, he looks so adorable when he smiles.”
“I miss seeing his handsome face.”
“I’m sure Evelyn will be so happy. I wish I were in her shoes.”
They both burst into laughter as they listened to the comments.
“They are really something else. They can’t just stay without gossiping,” Evelyn said as they entered the elevator.
“Really, Martin? I can’t believe you never smiled at them,” Evelyn said, and Martin chuckled.
“You are one of the few people who see me smile… actually, you are the reason behind my smile,” Martin said, and Evelyn couldn’t help but blush.
His words kept making her blush.
The elevator doors opened, and they both stepped out, holding each other’s hands.
Their eyes widened in shock when they saw Grace sitting on the floor.
“Grace?” Evelyn called in surprise, and she turned to look at them before waving.
“What on earth are you doing here, and how did you get in here?” Martin yelled, and Grace just rolled her eyes.
“Before you even think of calling security, just know that they never saw me because I sneaked in, and I have something important to tell both of you,” Grace said, and they just stared at her.
“Come inside the office then,” Evelyn said, making Martin glare at her, but she ignored him.
“Thanks,” Grace said and walked into Martin’s office.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he half-yelled, and Evelyn sighed.
“I’m sure she has something important to tell us, so we don’t have to be rude to her,” Evelyn said.
“So, what do you want to tell us?” Martin asked, glaring at her harshly.
“I know you don’t want me here, Martin. I get it. I am a threat to your relationship, but just so you know, I am not interested in ruining your relationship,” Grace said, while the other two focused their gaze on her.
