STRANGE NEIGHBOUR: Episode 1-The End

STRANGE NEIGHBOUR

EPISODE TWELVE

I banged on Raymond Smith’s door.

He opened immediately.

I searched his eyes. “Did you or did you not know that Nigel is still alive?”

“Nigel is alive?who told you that?”.

“You really don’t know about his where about?”.

“Who told you was the question that I asked”.

“My father was the one that helped him escape through the back door”.

“Your father was the one that opened the back door?”.

“You knew about it?”

He avoided my eyes.

“Where is Nigel?”.

“You will meet him on Saturday”.

I sighed deeply. Nigel was alive all along…”I can’t meet him on Saturday. I want to meet him right now!”. I grabbed his hand. “Please I am begging you”

“What about me? Are you going to choose Nigel over me?”.

Tears filled my eyes as I watched him. “Let me see Nigel first, please”.

“He will come back tonight, but promise me that even if he shows up, you will come back for me?”.

“Where am I meeting him?”.

“Han Voy bridge by six p.m tonight”.

When I walked into my room, Christiana was sobbing softly into her pillow.

“What happened?”. I asked softly as I sat on the bed next to her.

“My fiance cheated on me twice. At first, I overlooked it when I saw the girl coming out of that morning and the second time, I caught a glimpse of them nked on his bed! How could Joel do this to me?”.

I hugged her and patted her on her head. I knew how hurtful it could be to see someone you love and trust so much with someone else…

That was how my younger sister ended it with Joel.

It was only few minutes after five.

I walked to my father’s study room.

My father was sobbing and panting.

I rushed to him. “Dad, what happened?”.

“Nightwalker is dead”.

I gasped. “How did it happen?”

“Chief Harry killed him because he was sitting on the fence. I can’t work with a murderer!”.

“Dad, why don’t we join hands with the Smith family? If you right the wrongs you have done in the past now by gathering enough evidence against chief Harry, the Smiths will definitely forgive you. They need enough evidence as the last straw”.

I was at Han Voy bridge at exactly six p.m.

I suddenly heard footsteps from behind.

I turned…

It was my strange neighbour…

Raymond Smith…

I looked around. “Where is he?”.

He cupped my cheeks in his hands. “Where do you think he is, you foolish girl?”.

“Huh?”.

“I am your Nigel, Laura Johnson. The surgery changed the way I looked but it didn’t change who I am”.

“Who are you?”. I asked breathlessly.

“How could you not recognize me all these while, Laura?”…
