STRANGE NEIGHBOUR
FINAL EPISODE
I opened my eyes in a dark room but the little light coming from a burning firewood was illuminating the room.
My hands and legs were tied with a rope.
I finally realized that he was right there…
In the dark room…
Sleeping soundly on the cold floor…
He grinned and jerked immediately I shrieked.
He held my hand and shook me. “Look at that firewood over there! There is a kn1fe burning into flames. That is the kn1fe that I am going to use to pierce the name of your father on your head”.
I trembled. “Why are you doing this to me?”
“They have the full evidence of everything that will implicate my father. If they treasure you, let them bring the evidence and you will be released”.
His phone rang and he connected it.
It was on loudspeaker. “Hello?”
“This is Raymond. I think you need to speak to someone”.
Suddenly chief Harry’s voice came on. “Hello son, please release her. Raymond and his mother planted a bomb in my house, all my underground money is kept there. That is the money I reserved for your future”.
“What about you?are you safe?”.
“Raymond will soon throw me off the building but there will be no evidence against him but they have enough evidence against us. If I die, we will be at the loosing end because I will die and you will still go to jail and come out to achieve nothing because he would have already burnt down my money. Look, please escape right now since no one knows where you are”.
Raymond laughed out loudly. “Why do you think I made you call him? Just to hear his voice? I called to trace where my sweetheart is and at the same time threaten him so that he wouldn’t hurt her . I already texted the cops. They are on their way over there”. He disconnected the line.
The serial killer shivered. “They have full evidence that will implicate me for all the murders that I had committed! Dad had promised to save me! His best friend turned against him after how he had helped him all these years”.
“Killing people is not my father’s thing! Because of financial struggles, my dad had met the wrong friend that made him stain his hands. If dad hadn’t intervened that night, he would have been found guilty. The life you have lived is not what you should have lived”.
He wept. “I hate prison so much”.
My heart hurt for him as I watched him.
The police siren could be heard from a distance.
The serial killer prepared himself for the arrest.
Finally ….
I walked out of the hall with my flowing wedding gown, with my hands entwined with the love of my life… Raymond Smith Nigel.
I was married to Raymond Smith Nigel.
I was no longer Laura Johnson, I was now Laura Raymond Smith Nigel, the most favoured woman on earth.
I was wrapped around his arms in our big room in Oriental hotel after I had my first night with him.
He was the first man I had ever gone to bed with.
He stroked my hair. “It feels so hard to believe that you were a thirty years old vrgin. You never gave your virginity to Michael Cole?”.
“I was never connected to Michael, but from the first day you appeared at the door of our house, I got connected to you”.
He smiled heartily at me. “I promise to make you the happiest woman on earth”.
“I promise to be the best wife on earth to you, Raymond Nigel Smith”.
He kssed me on my forehead. “I am happy we accomplished everything at the end”.
“Chief Harry and his son are in prison and now, the truth has been exposed. Micheal, Annabelle, saucy Angela even attended our wedding! I was thinking that the whole world will not allow the wedding to happen”.
” As long as God approves our wedding, no man can stop us”.
We hugged each other.
“I love you so much, Mrs Smith. I am so happy that I married the best woman on earth”.
“I love you so much, Nigel. I am so happy that I married Nigel, my first and last love, my strange neighbour…”.
We giggled and curled back into the bed.
