STRANGE NEIGHBOURS
EPISODE THIRTEEN
“You are lying to me, Ray. Tell me that you are lying to me”. I asked him with tears in my eyes.
“Ich liebe dich”. He said softly.
Only Nigel told me ‘I love you’ in German language.
Raymond Smith was my Nigel!!!
I hugged so tightly as my tears flowed. “You are so cruel. How could you keep this from me all these while?”.
“I am sorry, Laura. I am so sorry”.
I pulled off his gripse and sobbed uncontrollably. “You made me almost marry someone else”.
“You think I would have allowed that to happen?”
“You are so annoying”.
He kssed me on my forehead. “I adore you, Laura. I knew that we are destined to be with each other. Nothing will come between us”.
I kssed him.
Raymond Smith was my Nigel, my Nigel was my Raymond Smith.
After the complete one month, Raymond was made CEO of Delight company.
I was arranging some files on Raymond’s desk when Michael Cole walked into the office.
He dropped an envelope on the desk. “I hereby resign from Delight company”.
Raymond nodded thoughtfully. “Cool”.
Michael glared at him. “Are you not going to ask why I resigned?”.
Raymond shrugged and focused on his laptop.
“Why did you guys deceive me into thinking that Nigel was dead and you were adopted?”.
Raymond chuckled. “Did that deceit create any form of anger in your heart because your indepth plan about having the company wouldn’t succeed”.
“I worked for this company more than you did”.
Raymond shrugged. “It doesn’t change the heir to the throne, does it?”.
“So you ended up being my Laura’s first love?”. He asked bitterly.
“First and last love you mean?”. Raymond asked daringly. He pulled me closer by my waist. “I am going to marry Laura in less than a month’s time”.
I gasped at him. He hadn’t made mention of that to me.
Michael sighed regretfully. “It was my mistake for the fact that I never valued Laura. To h’ll with you, Raymond Smith!!!”. He stomped out.
I turned to Raymond immediately and when I opened my mouth to talk, he placed a finger on my lips. “No need to talk, Laura. We found each other after so many years. I can’t wait to marry you”.
Tears filled my eyes. “I can’t wait to marry you too”.
“Ich liebe dich”. He said softly.
“Ich liebe dich”. I responded and we smiled heartily at each other.
I was trying to cheer Christiana up that morning, so we gisted about our funny days in campus and we broke into laughter.
She smiled at me. “I admire you, sister. You are so kind hearted and warm. Two rich men fought over you because of your nature of person. I wish I was you”.
“Don’t wish to be me, Christiana. Everyone has issues they are going through. If Joel didn’t work out, it means it was not the right relationship because it was even bringing rift between two sisters because of his nature of person. Now, you will find a man, not perfect, but he will love you the perfect way”.
She smiled softly at me. “So, your new found love, let’s talk about it”. She nudged me and we burst into laughter. “How much do you love this Raymond of a guy?”.
I smiled shyly. “I think it is a fifty-fifty thing”.
“Who loves more?”. She asked curiously.
I chuckled. “I think it is the same way”.
“For you to ‘think’, it means that he is the bigger fool”.
We broke into laughter.
Someone knocked on the door and we stifled.
It was Raymond Smith!!!
We gathered in the big sitting room.
Raymond Smith cleared his throat. “I came here to disclose my indepth desire about your daughter, Laura Johnson”.
“Have your parents accepted it?will they accept it despite everything that happened in the past?”. My father asked.
“What happened in the past?”. My mother asked confusedly.
My father sighed uneasily. “I and chief Harry had tried to kill Raymond Smith in the past. Raymond Smith is Laura’s Nigel”.
Everyone gasped.
“You were the one that planned the explosion?”my mother asked in shock.
“He was also the one that made me escape”. Raymond added. “Mr Johnson was trapped because he had walked with the wrong friend”.
“You didn’t tell us anything all these while!”. Christiana fired at me.
”
Big sister!”. Tyler fired at me.
“Even if Raymond wasn’t Nigel, I would still have married him. I might have had a strong infatuation for Nigel due to my teenage age, but maturity made me really love Raymond Smith. He has decided to overlook the past, I want to overlook everything and grow to love my future husband”.
I was seeing him out of the house when his phone rang.
He connected it and placed it on loudspeaker. “Hello?”.
“This is Nightwalker on the line”. The caller said.
Raymond gasped. “I thought Nightwalker was dead”.
“I have the full video and audio of everything that had happened on the night of the explosion”…
