CHAPTER 44
Although it breaks my heart, I have to push those feelings away because I’m doing the right thing.
I need to look for a way to make Eric take me to that meeting.
I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on the door.
I already know who it was.
Eric came in staring at me while I looked somewhere far from his face.
He slowly started to make his way towards me then sitting close to me.
I shifted a little far away from him.
“Nyx, I’m sorry”.
I just rolled my eyes although my heart fluttered a little and my mind begged me to forgive him but I won’t.
“I’m sorry, I was drunk even if that’s still not an excuse, but please can you stop giving me silent treatment because it hurts here”.
I finally looked at Eric as he was touching his chest,
“It hurts right here Nyx and I don’t know why”.
“I’ll do anything you say just forgive me”
That’s it if I tell Eric I want him to take me to that meeting then I’ll forgive him.
“Eric, I want to go out, take me to the meeting with you. I need some fresh air and I’ll forgive you ”
There was a shocked expression on his face and my heart was beating fast if he had caught me in my lie.
“Really ” he said with a wide smile and it made my heart flutter.
I just nodded my head.
“Then I’ll take you there, thank you ” he tried hugging me but I just moved away.

THE MEETING DAY
Eric bought my a purple dress with silver heels. His makeup artists came to do my make-up while Eric was waiting for me downstairs.
My heart was beating fast because today is the day I’m leaving here.
I felt guilty, my mind asking me to rethink my decision again but I already made up my mind.
Throughout the ride Eric was complimenting me on my dressing and giving me the widest smile and I felt my heart aching.
I just had to force a smile .
Reaching here, he held my hand as we walked inside together.
Then I sighted Ryder at the corner. He just nodded at me and I couldn’t help but smile. He looks handsome .
After 30 minutes Eric wouldn’t let me go or let me leave his side.
Finally I got the opportunity when Seth came in. Eric rushed and hugged him and that gave me the opportunity to run to Ryder.
“Let’s go before Eric notices I’m not beside him” .
He grabbed my hand as he started to make our way out of there.
On reaching outside Ryder stopped.
“You made the right decision Nyx” I couldn’t help but smile.
“Nyx” I froze knowing who that voice belonged to.
It was Eric.
I slowly turned and saw him and Seth beside him looking at me with anger.
“Let’s go”.
Ryder grabbed my hand as we started to run towards his car .
I could hear Eric and Seth voice calling my name but I didn’t stop or look back.
