Chapter Sixty Eight

Erica got into the car and they drove to the hospital. She went alone because Ava was busy. She stared at her phone throughout the whole journey.

“We are here ma’am” the driver said. Erica stared outside the window and grabbed her bag. She sighed and walked out of the car. She hated the way people were staring at her like she was one celebrity.

She quickly found her way into the hospital and waited for the doctor.
She waited for almost an hour till she saw the doctor excorting a patient out. He stopped by Erica and shot his eyes wide open.

“Oh my… I’m so sorry mistress. Forgive me! Please come in now!” The doctor said. He had forgotten that he was supposed to attend to Erica.

Erica smiled weirdly and followed him in.
“Have your seat miss” he said. Erica sat down opposite him and placed her bag on the empty seat beside her.

“What can I help you with miss?” He asked.

“I don’t know doc. Seem like I have a fever and my wedding is in two days time” she said.

“Yeah, it’s all over the web. I won’t miss it for anything” he said and chuckled softly. She raised her eyebrows and leaned back on the chair.

“I’ll run some test on you and we’ll wait for the results. I have to take proper check to make sure I give you the right medications” he said.

“Okay” Erica whispered. She stared at her phone again, waiting for the doctor to do whatever thing he wants to do. Her stomach was empty but she doesn’t feel hungry at all.

“Have you eaten anything since this morning miss?” He asked, Erica shook her head.

“Okay, that’s not good. You have to eat, even if you don’t have the appetite. I need to test you now” he said and grabbed his phone. He called the nurse in. She took Erica away to where she was tested.

After another hour of waiting for the results, it was finally ready.
“Miss, can I see you? The results are out” he said.

“Oh, okay” she said and followed him into the office.

“So, what does it says?” She asked.

“Congratulations miss Erica, you are two weeks pregnant” he said.

Erica’s face fell. The smile on her face disappeared as shock appeared.
“What?” She asked.

“I..I said you are two weeks pregnant” he said again, calmly. Erica quickly snatched the paper from his hand and checked it for herself.

“Oh no, I’m.. pregnant” she murmured.

“Master will be so happy to hear the news”

“Yeah, he would be so happy. I will tell him myself, don’t tell anyone anything, okay?!” She warned him.

“Of course miss” he said. Erica folded the paper and fixed it into an envelope. She pushed it into her bag and found her way out of the hospital.

“Let’s go” she said to the driver and they quickly left. She didn’t even wait to hear any other thing that she has to do. She’s confused.

“How on earth did this… Oh Kelvin, Kelvin!” She thought. She wished she could just yell in the car but the driver would think she has gone ¢razy.

“I need to tell Tracy about this or Kelvin. I don’t know… Fk! How did I become so careless?!” She cried into her palm.

After a short drive, she got home and saw Tracy.
“Finally, she’s here!” Ava groaned.

“I’ve been trying to call you all this while you weren’t picking up” Ava said as she moved closer to her.

“I’m fine Ava” she said and walked to the chair.

“Come Erica, your gown has arrived. You need to try it on” Tracy said, pushing the box to her.

“Oh! Nice!” She groaned secretly, smiling weirdly on the outside.
She was going to wear a tight gown with a foetus in her tommy. She grabbed the box and head to her room.
“Do you need any help?” Ava and Tracy asked.

“No, I’m good!” She said and closed the door behind. She locked it and started to undress. She started to wear the huge flowing gown. It was so huge and beautiful. She loved the way it was. Tracy knew her perfect size but it was way to exposed. Her shoulders were bare. She wore the gloves and shoes. She stepped out of the room.

“Ta da!” She said. Tracy’s face bloomed. She was so excited.

“Oh my gosh, you are so beautiful Erica. I’ve booked you the most talented make up artiste. You need to get your hair, nails and everything done. My gosh! You look so beautiful. I’m totally speechless!” Tracy said. Erica exhaled deeply.

“Thank you ma’am” she said, squeezing her gown. She needed to tell someone what’s going on at the back of her mind.

Erica laid on her bed. It was almost nightfall. That word ‘you are two weeks pregnant’ rang in her head more than a hundred times.
She placed her hand on her stomach, trying to feel her two weeks baby. She quickly sprung up from the bed and stared at her reflection on the mirror.
She raised her shirt and stared at her stomach.

“Why didn’t I even see the signs that I was… Signs? Yes! That’s it, signs!” She said as her lips curved into a smile.
She sat on the bed and brought out the results from her bag.
“I’m pregnant for Kelvin, that means, he’s the man in my dreams because I’m carrying his child” she said, staring into the thin air.
She then remembered that she was getting married to Calvin. She started to wonder how she would go about the wedding.

“Argh! I’m starving” she groaned and stepped out of the room. She sneaked into her kitchen, not wanting Ava to know about her movement.

She started to make something to eat. She made toast and bacon. She ate it and topped it with a glass of juice.

The next morning, Erica got dressed quite early. She marched out of her room, towards the door.

“Where are you headed to Erica?” She asked.

“I have to go get my hair done” she lied as she took off her sunglasses.

“Oh, but Tracy was going to bring them here. She said you shouldn’t stress yourself”

“Oh, I see. I need to get some things. I’ll be back then” she said and quickly ran out of the house.

“What’s up with her?” She murmured.

She got into the car and ordered the driver to drive to the company. She needed to see Kelvin and tell him everything. She has to finally confess to him and tell him that she’s pregnant.
As soon as the driver drove into the company, she jumped out of the car and was running into the company. She didn’t mind that people were staring at her. When she remembered that she was carrying a child, she stopped running and started walking.

She quickly walked into Kelvin’s office and saw that he was with Calvin.
“Speaking of who… Look who’s here!” Calvin said as he saw Erica.

“Oh, hey baby” she said, smiling weirdly. She didn’t expect to see Calvin here. He walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her.

“Were you looking for Kelvin?” He asked, staring at his brother. He was probably wondering why she walked into his brother’s office.

“Oh no, I didn’t see you in your office so I came here” she lied.

“I’ll give you two some privacy” Kelvin said, wanting to leave the office. Erica stopped him.

“No, there’s no need for that. I just came to see someone. But if you’re busy, there’s no need for that. Just carry on” she said and left. She hate the fact that she didn’t have the chance to talk. She didn’t want to hurt Calvin’s feelings just like that. She turned and stared back, she caught Kelvin staring at her. She quickly diverted her gaze and left.

As she entered into the house, Ava threw a paper at her.
“When were you going to tell us,huh?!” She yelled.
Erica bent and opened the paper. She saw it was her pregnancy paper. She forgot to put it away before she left. She groaned and slapped her forehead.

“Put that back Ava” Erica said calmly. Then Tracy walked from the sitting room towards Erica.

“You’re pregnant?” She asked.

“I wanted to tell you, I’m sorry” she said.

“When?” Ava yelled.

“That’s not the question. Who’s the father of the baby?” Tracy asked, calmly.

“It’s… It’s Kelvin” she said and lowered her gaze.
Tracy walked towards her and touched her face. A smile crept on her face.

“Kelvin? What?” She asked. She nodded.

“That’s… I wanted to say good news but, how will Calvin feel when he hears about this” Tracy asked.

Suddenly, a lady walked from the sitting room.
“It’s ready ma’am”

“Erica, go get your hair and nails done” Tracy said. Erica nodded and walked away.

“Careful!” She said as she watched Erica’s step.

Ava stared at Tracy, giving her a questioning look.
“What are we going about her?” She asked.

“I have no idea Ava. Two days left to the wedding…” She said.

Erica was on her bed, she was uncomfortable with her nails. She hasn’t fixed nails before but it was pretty.
The knock on the door snapped her back to reality.

“Come in” she said. Tracy walked in with a plate of diced fruits.

“I brought something for you” she said and placed it on the table. Erica sat up and adjusted her hair.

“Thanks ma’am” she said and ate slowly.

“Erica..” Tracy called out. She stared at Tracy.

“Hmm?” She mumbled with the fruit in her mouth.

“So, what are you going to do about this? Wedding to Calvin, pregnant for Kelvin”

“I wanted to tell Kelvin about his baby but I didn’t get the chance to. It’s known to me that Kelvin is the man in my dreams”

“Are you really sure he’s the one?” She asked. Erica nodded.

“The baby is enough sign for me” she said.

“Then, we have to tell Calvin about it then” she said. Erica lowered her gaze.

“I can’t. I don’t want to hurt his feelings at all. He’s been so nice and caring. I shouldn’t repay him like that”

“I’ll do the honor of telling him on your behalf. You just talk to Kelvin. Let him know that you are pregnant” she said. Erica’s lips curved into a smile. She wrapped her hands around Tracy and hugged her tight.

“Thanks ma’am. But, why do you also want me for Kelvin?”

“Kelvin hasn’t loved anyone in his life. You are the first person he has ever loved, talked to, smile with. You are special Erica”

“Okay, that’s enough. You’re making me blush” she said and covered her face shyly. Tracy giggled.
