Episode 53

Mico’s Pov:
I walked out of the house and was about heading for my car when I saw a car driving in.
I stood and waited to see whom it was and expectedly, it was Alexa.
I scoffed and ignored her, walking to my car in the garage, but she ran after me.
“Mico…”
“What?” I turned to look at her.
Tears were forming up in her eyes.
“Pl…Please, just give me a few minutes. Hear me out, Mico. Please.” She said tearfully, placing her hands together.
“Why on earth would you want to talk to me, Alexa? Have you forgotten you slapped me just because I touched you?” I asked and she busted into tears.
“Mico, I’m sorry” she whimpered.
“I had no idea it was you. I didn’t mean to do it. I’d never want to hurt you”.
“You look down on people, Alexa and that’s your problem.
Do you remember I had asked you out on a date that very day? And do you know what my real intentions were? I had actually wanted to ask you to be my girlfriend. It was just few hours to go, but you ruined the entire plan by bringing out your true nature. You made me see who you really were.” I said and she gasped.
She covered her mouth with her palm as uncontrollable tears rolled down her cheeks and she quickly went on her knees.
My siblings had come out of the house and were watching us, astonished.
“Mico, please’ she cried.
“I swear, I didn’t mean to do it. Please forgive me. I swear, I’ll change. I’ll never mean to anyone again. Please Mico, I’m begging you; give me one more chance. I love you”.
I scoffed and bent my head, since she was kneeling.
“Sorry, but I already have someone else in mind” I whispered into her ears and she looked into my face with disbelieve.
I smirked and walked away, walking into my car which had already been opened for me by my guards.
I didn’t even bother to look et her and when we got to the gate, I ordered the driver to stop and I called one of the gate men.
“The next time Alexa comes into this building, I’m going to make your life miserable” I said to the security through the window and ordered the driver to take off.
Alyssa’s Pov:
Today was the semi final day of the inter school young miss beauty contest and it was to be conducted that morning.
So we all gathered in the big hall and the five of us which were the remaining contestants, lined up in front of the stage.
Mico was given a special seat, as usual separated from the rest of the students.
His pictures were just everywhere.
Ladies were using him as screen savers and some even had his stickers pasted on their body.
He was such a celebrity and it still looked like magic to know it was actually my nigel.
What we were expected to do in the contest was read out to us and in the semi final stage, we were expected to solve an equation under further maths in 1 minute.
Gosh; I hate further maths.
We all took out stands and I looked at Alexa and noticed she was looking very sad and teary.
The equation we were expected to solve was placed in front of us and the bell went off, indicating for us to start.
We all took up our pens immediately and started scribbling down in our papers.
In exactly one minute, the bell went off again and we all stopped at once because who ever continued writing after the bell had been rung was going to be evicted.
The coordinator took our papers from us and took them to the table of the judges and after a few minutes, the results were out and my heart began beating fast.
“In the end of the semi final stage,” the coordinator announced.
“Three people were evicted, meaning only two contestants were able to make it to the final stage which would be conducted tomorrow”.
He paused and looked into the paper and everybody became nervous to know which of the contestants were evicted.
“The contestants that made it to the final stage are…Alexa Liam and…Alyssa Ramos” he announced and I heaved a big sigh of relief.
Every body in the hall started cheering and clapping and the other three contestants walked away angrily
Alexa also walked away not long after looking moody. What was wrong with her?
Gosh! I can’t believe I just made it to the final stage and it’s going to be conducted tomorrow.
I heard the grand finale in Davao city was going to commence in three days time.
But who’s going to win between Alexa and I and become the representative of Manilla?
I suddenly became so nervous and pressed and decided to free myself in the restroom.
I got to the restroom and was about walking into one of the toilets when I heard someone talking.
It was a familiar voice and the door was slightly open.
I looked around and there was no one watching.
Then, I moved closer to the door and took a peep and…oh, it was Jeremy!
Good thing he was backing the door.
But why do I always find him in restrooms?
“I don’t give a fuck what he thinks. If he doesn’t comply, get rid of her” he spoke angrily on the phone and I furrowed my brows.
Who was he talking to?
And want does he mean by ‘get rid of her?’
I’m still curious to know why he’s background is hidden from everyone.
Who could he be?
“Yes. I’ll be returning to Davao city by tomorrow and maybe we can sort that out when I do.
“Okay. Good”
And he dropped the call.
Guessing he might turn around since the call was ended, I decided to walk away.
But just as I turned around to leave, I heard him talk.
“Stop right there” he said and my heart gave a mighty leap.
Oh, God!
I stood motionless for a while and by the time I finally turned around, he was already standing in front of me.
“Were you spying on me?” He asked in a soft voice as he stood very close to me.
I looked at him and gulped nervously.
Gosh; this guy’s just too cute to be a flirt.
“N…no. I…I…uhm…came to make use of the restroom” I stuttered nervously and gulped again.
“S…sorry” I added and tried to leave, but he held me back by the wrist.
“You know you’ve offended me, Alyssa” he said in a low key, holding my wrist a little roughly. Ouch!
He was hurting me.
I winced and looked at my wrist and back at him and he had an inscrutable expression on.
“You turned me down and that felt like a slap on my face” he said.
“I don’t know what you’re feeling like, but one thing’s for sure; I always get what I want.
Although, I couldn’t get you over here, that doesn’t mean I won’t get you again.
“I know you’ll be coming to Davao city in three days time and one thing you should know is this; over here, Mico is in charge. But over there, I’m in charge. And when you get there, I promise I’ll be right between those pretty legs of yours.
“So, see you there”.
And after saying that, he winked at me and let go of my wrist, walking away.
I cringed and turned to look at him as he walked away and suddenly became paranoid.
What does he mean by that?
Is he threatening me or what?
Why’s he trying to make me scared?
I continued staring at him as he walked away.
I wonder what he means by saying he was in charge.
Who was he?
