A LIAR AT THE ALTAR SEASON 2: CHAPTER 11 – 20

Chapter 12

He leaned on the table with a smirk dancing at the corner of his lips.

“So, you’re my wife?”

“Not….really, it’s an act.”

“I know, do we get to do what couples do? Like making out?”
I looked around if anyone heard him.

“No,” I said holding myself back from shooting him a dirty look.

“That’s sad, I was already thinking of different ways to pleasure you, when last did someone fk you, Chloe?”

He asked undressing me with his eyes as stared at the first three buttons left open on my uniform.

“It’s none of your damn business, your job is to act like my husband when I need you to.”
He smiled mischievously.

“This will be fun.”
He said and dipped the straw in his mouth keeping his eyes on me.

This was what Mrs. Porter called nice, I cocked a brow at him as he kept staring at me. What a douche.

“So, where is your son?”

“None of your concern.”

“But I’m the father, well it’s not like I care. Hermione told me about him.”

Did he just call Mrs. Porter by her first name?

“What else did she tell you?”

“I wish I have more time to talk, but someone is waiting for me.”
He finished his drink and stood up to leave.

He leaned closer to the table to peck me.

“Don’t. Even. Think. About. It.”
He paused and pulled away

“Jeez, you’re so boring. We are going to look like a couple getting a divorce.”
He winked and left, I rolled my eyes and put the straw in my mouth.

He sure didn’t act like a twenty-five-year-old.

I won’t last a day with Ryan, I didn’t know how much Mrs. Porter told him. I wasn’t interested in a pretend husband anymore or maybe I should ask Daniel. Daniel was cute and nice, but I didn’t want to get him involved in my tangled lies.

I got home after spending four hours with Kayden, I felt so exhausted but it was worth it.

Vina wasn’t back from her internship program, I changed into black gym shorts and a white shirt.

I slumped on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and a can of soda, I grabbed the remote and searched for something interesting to watch on Hulu.

Someone knocked, I stood up and shuffled to the door. Vina was always lazy to type in the password. I opened the door and I stared wide-eyed at the three boxes in my doorway.

“Ryan?”

“Ryan?”

He gave me a lopsided grin and stepped in with two of his suitcases.

“Help me with the last suitcase, will you?”
He told me as he walked past me.

“What are you doing here?”
I asked leaving the last suitcase at the doorway.

“That was not the reaction I was expecting but it’s fine.”
He said and went to get his last suitcase.

“Why are you here? How did you even know I live here?”

“I asked Hermione.”
He said picking one apple from the fruit basket at the dining, he took a big bite.

“Nice place, I guess I made the right choice,” he looked around the living room.

“You still haven’t answered my question, why are you here?”

“To be closer to my wife and it was the perfect opportunity to get away from my parents.”

He still lived with his parents at twenty-five? Did he even have a job?

“You can’t stay here, I have a roommate.”

“So? There are two rooms, right?”

“It doesn’t matter, you can’t live here. I told you if I need you to play the husband role I’d call you.”

The door opened and Vina walked in with her stiletto heels in one hand, her sky blue blazer was resting on one arm.

“I’m home.”
She said tiredly, she was too busy hanging her shoe on the rack to see Ryan, I was thinking of what to tell her.

She finally looked up and saw us, she stared between us with a questioning look.

“Hi, cutie.”
Ryan said before I could say anything, Vina’s forehead creased at his greeting.

“Chlo?”
She turned to me for an explanation.

“This is Ryan, my….my boyfriend.”

“I thought we were mar….”
I elbowed him in the gut to shut him up.

“I knew it! I knew you were seeing someone!”
She said with a wide smile like she just won a prize.

“Ryan, this is, Belvina, my best friend and roommate.”

“Just call me Vina.”

He stepped forward and took her small hand and placed his lips on the back of her palm.

“My pleasure.”
He said huskily, can he be more disgusting? I just introduced him as my boyfriend for Christ’s sake.

Vina blushed and mouthed hot to me when he wasn’t looking. I forced a smile trying my best not to roll my eyes.

“Oh please, I don’t want Chloe to stab me in my sleep.”
She joked.

“I’m sure she doesn’t mind.”
He said taking a glance at me.

“What’s with the suitcases?”
Vina asked staring at me.

“Ryan, came all the way from L.A to spend some time with me, we have been on a long-distance relationship.”

“Awww, that’s so sweet. Enjoy your time together, but please keep it down.”
She said and walked to her room.

“I guess you didn’t tell her about your baby.”
He said immediately we heard her door close.

“Yeah, and you won’t either.”

“See, you need me here.”
He said opening his arms.

“No, I don’t. You’re leaving here next week.”

“We’ll see about that.”
A wicked smile danced on his lips.

I showed him my room and he took his suitcases in, I followed behind.

“So, for the sleeping arrangement.”

“Why do we need a sleeping arrangement? The bed is big enough.”
He laid on my Queen size bed not taking off his dirty shoes, I kept my hands fisted at my sides.
Could this get any worse? I got myself into this in the first place.
