A LIAR AT THE ALTAR SEASON 2: CHAPTER 11 – 20

Chapter 15

I was surprised to see Daniel, Hope and Jane walk into the Diner. They smiled at me as they walked to the counter, I took a short break and joined them at an empty booth.

“Sorry about your job.”
Jane said softly.

“It’s fine, I was sick of the job anyway.”

True but I wasn’t ready to be fired yet.

“If you’re looking for another job I know a place.”
Daniel offered, how sweet.

“No, not yet.”

They filled me in on everything going on since I left. I wasn’t the only person fired, some lady named Amanda was caught stealing from the room she was cleaning. We spoke a little more before they left. I was the only one with long hours, so I stayed till ten. I didn’t mind, anything to get my mind off Ryan tied up in my closet.

I was getting bored taking orders and serving the food. The doorbell rang and I looked up ready to welcome the next customer but it was Grey.

“Hey, Chlo” he waved walking to where I was.

“Hi, Grey.”

Let the awkwardness begin. Grey and I have not been that close since the incident. After the incident with the Sanchesters, he tried to get back together with me after Vina and I got our apartment, he tried to make me move in with him but I refused. He always came around and I avoided him, I kept pushing him away till he gave up on trying.

After I got back from Cuba we didn’t speak to each other for months until the day he came to see Vina on her birthday. He introduced us to Gabby, his girlfriend. I was glad he had moved on.

“How have you been? I haven’t seen you in weeks.”
He took the seat in front of me.

“Busy, I’m sure Vina already told you I lost my other job,” I tried to sound sad but it didn’t come out the way I wanted it.

“No, she didn’t.”

“Ohh, well you know now.”

“I will have a pineapple smoothie please.”

“What happened?”
He asked me when I returned with his smoothie.

I explained everything to him but he just ended up laughing.

“I think it’s a good thing you got fired, you don’t belong there.”

“Should I be offended?”
I asked and he shrugged.

“How is Gabby?”

“She is good.”
The look on his face changed, he looked annoyed.

I opened my mouth to ask something else but his phone rang, making me press my lips together.

“It’s Gabby, I have to pick her up. Sorry.”

“It’s fine, thanks for stopping by.”
He smiled.

“Bye, Chlo.”

“Bye,” I sang.

Few people in the Diner turned to look at me, I flashed them a smile and picked the flyer laying on the counter.

It’s was past eleven when I finished cleaning, I took out the trash and locked the Diner.

I strolled down the street, the smile on my face fell when I remembered I had to feed Ryan when I get home. I checked the time.

“Sht!” Vina would be home by now. I cursed under my breath again as I started walking fast.

A blinding light from the car driving toward me made me stop. My eyes squinted at the intensity of the light, I used one hand to block the light from destroying my sight.

A blinding light from the car driving toward me made me stop. My eyes squinted at the intensity of the light, I used one hand to block the light from destroying my sight.

The car stopped beside me, the lights went off and the front door opened.

I gave Tristan a hard look as he came out of the car, I sighed and turned to walk away but he gripped my arm and slammed my body to the car. Well, not so hard.

I gasped from the movement, I looked at him. He looked furious like he wanted to rip me apart.

“What the he.ll, Tristan!”
I winced as he held me against the car. He didn’t look like he would let go anytime soon.

“Where is he? Where is my son?!!!”

“Where is he? Where is my son?!!!”

Tristan asked with a dark look, the veins on his neck were visible and his jaw hardened as he waited for me to say something.

“How did….who told you he is yours?”
I changed the question quickly trying not to give him reasons to believe Kayden was his.

“Don’t lie to me, Cassie!”

“Don’t call me that!”
I snapped.

“He is not yours, I told you I’m married!”

“The he.ll you are!”
He released me and grabbed my hand, he pulled out the fake wedding ring and threw it across the street.

I gasped and stared at him with my hands fisted at my sides.

“Drop the act already, I know the truth. Where is he?”

“He is not yours, Tristan,” I said boldly, standing upright. My back was hurting from the way he held me to the car.

“Stop, don’t lie to me.”

“The fact you were the first guy I slept with doesn’t mean he is yours.”
I added and he laughed softly licking his lower lip.

“How old is he?”

“None of your business.”
I knew what he was trying to do.

“The trip to Cuba was to hide the truth right, you stayed for almost a year.”

Busted.

“Why do you think he is your son?”
I said looking at the black shirt that showed off his muscles and his impressive torso.

How pathetic can you be Chloe, you don’t admire people you hate.

My subconscious said.

“We have the same birthmark, I saw it beneath his ear at the park.”
I opened my mouth to say something but no words came out, I wasn’t sure of what to say.

“Show me,” I demanded.
He pointed at a spot on his neck with his long finger, I pushed myself up on my tiptoes to take a look.
It looked like a splash of dark paint on his skin.

Kayden had it too, I should have paid attention to it.

“And I have the DNA result.”
He added.

“Wait, What?”

“I wanted to be sure he was really mine, so I stole a strand of his hair when I touched it and took it for a DNA test.”
I recalled him ruffling Kayden’s hair.

“How dare you?!”
