Chapter 104
“Who is the father of the child?..” Cindy’s voice echoed loudly in her ears…
Brinkley froze on a spot wishing the ground to open up and swallow her but that was quite impossible
“Answer me..!!” Cindy yelled, sweating profusely even under the air conditioner and her eyes were red as the breathed heavily in fury
The doctor kept shaking and shivering like someone who has caught the flu..
Cindy shook her head sideways, blinking repeatedly as her eyes locked with Brinkley’s.. finding everything so confusing and unbelieving..
“I..can.. explain”. Brinkley stuttered like a fool, trying her best to sound convincing even though she knew that it’s not working and its definitely not going to work..
“Explain what?!.. that you are pregnant for your own brother or that you’ve been deceiving us all this while.. huh!” She yelled, her veins revealing from her stressed nerves
“Everything Cindy… Believe me, it wasn’t my fault” Brinkley said soberly
Cindy’s gaze landed on the doctor and instantly he froze on a spot, looking so funny in his oversized glasses.
His heart skipped thousands of beats at once as his eyes locked with hers, knowing fully well that he was doomed.
Not even when the Wilson’s eldest daughter caught him red handed..
“What can you say to this” Cindy said with dangerous smile, scrunching up her brows
“Miss Wilson.. I really can explain..” he stammered
She scoffed
“What explanation do you want to make?.. huh!” She yelled furiously and a tear slipped from the corner of her eyes even before she could realise
“Well, you’ll make your explanations in jail” she said picking up her phone as she proceeded to call the cops
“I’ll make sure your medical license is withdrawn” she said frankly
“You can’t do this Cindy..” Brinkley rushed to where she stood, wetting her clothes with her tears as she stood behind her, crying on her back
“It isn’t his fault, blame me for everything” she cried
Cindy couldn’t control it anymore.. being so emotional, her tears fell freely and even without realising the phone fell from her hands
“Mavis…” She muttered

Dwayne’s Mansion
Her image appeared in his imagination for the umpteenth time and as much as he tried to concentrate on the script he was working on for a film production, he ended up being distracted..
To worsen it all, he wrote her name many times without realising
He sighed, pushing back the chair he sat on and stood up, he walked to the large king-sized bed and fell flatly on it, smiling broadly like a bloated goat
His hand travelled to the chest of drawers beside the bed and he opened the first drawer, picking up an anklet in it.. Cindy’s
He kssed it, rubbing it fondly like it was more precious than it looked
“I love you Tara..” he found himself muttering and with that, he drifted into sleep

A White House..
The old woman watched satisfactorily as she watched the lady gulp down the green liquid slowly..
She stopped few seconds later, handing the cup back to her
“It’s bitter.. I can’t take it anymore” the young lady winced weakly..
“Com’on, it would help you heal faster” the old lady tried sounding convincing but the lady shook her head negatively, lieing back on the bed
“I’ll do that later.. it’s making me feel like I’m gonna puke” the lady said with a frown
The old woman smiled shortly, heaving a deep sigh.. as she rubbed her hair fondly with her white hands
“You’re really strong Elva..” she said with glassy and teary eyes and quickly wiped her tears before they could fall freely
“I just wish you get well soon” she added with a sad smile
She stood up minutes later after confirming that the lady fell asleep already and walked to her old wooden window, staring at the vast lands through it
Her pet bird flew to her shoulders.. chirping loudly like it was trying to communicate.
The old woman smiled broadly, rubbing its feathers
“Velveeta..”
