Chapter 107

A tear slipped out of the corner of her right eye and she sniffed

“You’re right” she muttered lowly

Dwayne flashed a short but smug smile, pulling her back to himself and made her head rest on his chest

” Everything will be fine soon Tara” he whispered and she smiled, nodding slowly

“Thank you..”

“I love you” he whispered without realising and she raised her head a bit staring at his face as their eyes locked

“Huh..?”

Dwayne heaved a deep sigh, and nodded slowly with a smile

“I sincerely do”

White House

“Are you sure you can do this Elva, I don’t want you to get hurt again” the old lady winced staring at Elva’s bandaged tummy

Elva groaned silently in pains

“I’m fine Granny, I need to be there, its urgent” she said picking up a black bag

She was cladded in an oversized black gown that obviously belonged to the old lady and a pair of old sandals

“I feel somehow, I don’t want you to go.. you really have a lot of enemies” the old lady said with pleading eyes

“Com’on granny, we talked about this last night and you agreed to let me go.

I just need to do something important, that’s all” Elva said, taking a swift glance at the watch on her wrist

She was running out of time

“I’ll be back soon okay” she reassured and ran out of the room even before she could reply

She secretly swerved into a corner and entered the kitchen, slipping a small knlfe into her pockets without suspicion and with that, she ran out of the house, groaning silently as she felt her tummy hurt badly

Seconds rolled into minutes..

Minutes into hours..

Hours into day..

Day into days..

And finally, it was the seventh day..

Roxanne Lee smiled broadly as she came out of the wooden house

She bent down and scooped a handful of sand in her palm

“The soil will receive visitors soon” she laughed dvilishly as her laughter echoed loudly in the quiet atmosphere

She was cladded in a red top and black trousers with a large hat over her head that covered part of her face, making her look weird

She remembered her words in the letter when she was about to escape from the underground passage

“Lets meet at the highwa y pedestrian bridge in seven days” she had written.

She smirked

Getting to the road, she hijacked a car from a young driver, injecting him with a syringe immediately even before he could shout or scream for help.

She drove madly and carelessly to the bridge, ignoring the traffic rules and regulations and soon, the cops began chasing her but she was cunning enough to outsmart them

Getting to the bridge.. She parked few miles away and fixed her gaze on the bridge expecting to see them and just as expected, the bridge was empty and void of both vehicles nor pedestrians

She stayed in the car for a few more minutes waiting for them to show up

“They’re definitely gonna come, just chill” Jacqueline said through the bud and Xanne nodded

“Sure”

“Remember, Deanna first then the Wang’s daughter follows” Jacqueline said again

“Right”

The screeching sound of a car suddenly sounded and Roxanne immediately scrunched up her brows to see who it was

A lady suddenly highlighted, looking around the unusual and suspicious road

Xanne smiled

“I knew you would come first” she said and got down quickly, proceeding towards her, hiding something behind her.. with the mindset that it was Deanna but as she walked closer, she was dissapointed to see Claribel.

She scoffed

“Weakling comes first too?” She said behind her and Claribel immediately. turned to her, hiding the fear in her eyes.
