CHAPTER 13
The only person that appeared in my mind was Alex. But why will Alex be following Caspian’s car with such speed as if it’s furious with him and wants to kill him.
But are they in anyway related considering the fact that they look alike… I don’t think its Alex. Maybe a coincidence. I don’t even know what to think anymore….
The Range Rover almost hit Caspian’s car but Caspian dodged it as if he saw it coming. I looked at him and he smiled uneasily at me.
“What was that?” Nicky asked.
The innocent girl is not even aware of the car battle.
“A Range Rover almost hit us” I informed her, I saw it coming again so I warned Caspian. “And it’s coming again…. Caspian watch out” I screamed out, he was fast enough to dodge it.
“Who the hell is that?” Nicky asked.
Caspian sped off taking another route.
“I’m sorry but I have to lose him before taking you two home” he stated as kept speeding up.
“Do you know him?” Nicky asked.
“Maybe” he replied.
Nicky and I exchanged glances. I was getting scared and the worst is that it’s getting dark, I checked my watch, great, 8:30pm.

When I looked up, we were already leaving New Haven, going down to the fly over that leads down to Abakaliki high way and up to emene.
“Umh Caspian, maybe you should drop us here, we can get a taxi from here” I asked him.
“I’m sorry but I’ll take you home myself, I have to make sure that you are OK” he insisted.
Is this guy not understanding how scared we are, why is he trying to mix us up with his whatever problem he was having with whoever is in that Range Rover.
I looked out of the window by my right and saw a black corolla, I looked at my side view mirror and saw the Range Rover closing in on us. Seriously this is no longer funny.
Caspian drove up the flyover – I guess he was driving to emene, he drove with full speed.

When we got to mainland bus stop, he stopped the car. I looked out the window but I didn’t see either the Range Rover or the Black Corolla, so far so good.
“Well we’ve lost them, now can you take us home?” I asked him.
“Of course but taking you guys home will be through another route and I will do just that, but first let me get you guys something to eat” Caspian replied.
“We are not hungry” I tried to tell him but he already alighted from the car and walked out.
“I thought you said I won’t regret this” Nicky asked me.
“I did see this coming” I replied with a nervous smile.

Few minutes later, the driver’s door opened and someone who does not look like Caspian in anyway entered the car.
Before I couldn’t realize what was happening, the car was already speeding down the flyover heading towards the Abakaliki high way.
“Who are you and where’s Caspian?” Nicky asked.
But the dude didn’t say any nada.
“Dude are you deaf” she fired, but the car was already speeding past the last house that could be found in that high way.
I really don’t understand how possible it is for this car to be driving in such speed in just 120 km/h, it’s not possible.
But the most scaring part is that Nicky and I are being kidnapped and where the he’ll did Caspian go, did he mastermind this or was he captured as well.

I looked at the guy driving the car, He’s a white dude with a hard dangerous face, the only think that went through my mind as I stared at him was to kick him and take over the wheel but I couldn’t, I just sat there moping at him, it was as if they tied Nicky and I and the only thing that can move in our bodies were our lips but even at that, I still couldn’t talk.
Suddenly the guy stepped on the brake like his life depended on it. It was when I looked up that I realized that it wasn’t only his life but mine and Nicky’s also depended on that brake.

In the middle of the road stood that white, diamond, smooth, furry fearless breed. His four beautiful dangerous legs were apart from each other, ready to pounce on any unfortunate prey, his teeth gritting, ready to devour.
“Is….is..tthhat.. Is that a lycan?” Nicky stuttered.
I couldn’t answer, this was how I lost my family, maybe my parents have realized how badly I’ve suffered and decide to take me too, but why send a wolf, of all the wolves on earth, they sent the one I really like.
And must I die the same way the died, I would prefer to die by bullet or by sword than to be eaten by a wolf, this is a very painful way to die.

I looked at the driver, my mind was saying, please turn around but my mouth wasn’t moving.
The idi.ot stepped out of the car.
“What is he doing, Is he insane?” Nicky asked.
Clearly he is insane, he really doesn’t look like someone whose brain is still in his head.
I looked at the wolf, it was still furious.
My brain and my whole being went numb when the driver bent down and transformed into a brown furry wolf.
Nicky jumped on me and clutched my hand and began to mumble in fear “not warewolves, please queen Mila save me from this nightmare” I had no idea what she was talking about but that wasn’t my concern right now.
She was deeping her fingers into my skin but I didn’t feel it, I was busy watching the two wolves glaring at each other.
Before the brown wolf could attack, the white one already separated it’s head from the body with his hands, he was standing with his back legs like a human while he devoured the brown wolf.

When he finished, he turned to the car. He just stood there staring at us.
The headlight of the car were still on, so I could see him clearly. I could have sworn I saw a man standing there, but no, it was a wolf.
I looked into his maroon eyes and I felt like he was calling out to me. I didn’t even know when I opened the door, I was stepping out of the car when I heard Nicky’s voice.

“Where are you going Andra?” She asked.
I didn’t reply, I was walking towards the wolf, I know Nicky was following me cause her hands were still clutching me.
I stopped walking immediately I saw a cream colored wolf behind my maroon eyes. I didn’t know when I shouted. “Behind you”
He turned immediately and hit the wolf really hard, they began to fight, it was a ho.rrible sight.

He tore the cream colored wolf but the beast injured his arm. He was bleeding badly, and he looked tired.
I walked to him. I bent down, I can’t even explain where that courage came from, me kneeling beside a wolf.
And since when did I start caring for wolves, few days ago I was crying of killing any wolf I see even though I know I couldn’t, but here I am today tending to a wolf’s wound.
But what I saw tonight made me realize that this is not just a wolf, its a werewolf, in fact a lycan and so were the two other wolves he devoured.

After tying the wonderful arm with my handkerchief, I turned to Nicky who was staring down at the wolf, if it was possible her eyes would have fallen off.
“Nicky, please go to my purse and get my bottle water, he needs some water” I asked her, but she didn’t respond, she kept pointing at the wolf.
“Nicky, I know it’s crazy but he is hurt, just get the water” I pleaded.
“You might wanna look at him Andra” she said.
“Nicky please, go get the wa…”
“No, really, look at him” she pointed.
I sighed and turned to the wolf and I almost jumped out of my skin as I watched Alex trying to tie the handkerchief very well.
I don’t understand, where did Alex come from, where did the wolf go to. Alex stood up and turned to me, his maroon eyes where sparkling.
Maroon eyes? Could Alex be…. Is Alex the… It’s not possible, I know werewolves are half humans and half wolves but Alex being one of them… How?
“I can explain Andra” he said.
I didn’t know why but I slapped him, I’m not just angry with him for being a wolf but also for making me fall in love with him.. A wolf.
“Andra please listen to m…..”
Another slap landed on his cheek, but I feel like I’m the one receiving the slaps cause everything became blurry, my head started spinning, I felt like it is about to explode. I was hearing Alex voice but it was fading.
“Andra…. Andra….” He called and suddenly everywhere became dark.
