“Actually..,Annie..” my voice shook. “I know Chloe”
“Of course you would know her. She is….”
I interrupted her. “I mean I know her personally…”
Annie raised her brows in surprise. “Wow, really? Where do you know her from?
“She is well..my high school classmate..”
“Wow..really..this is good. Do you guys still talk?” Annie asked.
“Kind of” I uttered.
“Common, camille, this should be good. All you have to do is just to contact her..”
“I don’t know..I don’t really know” I mumbled, unsure.
“What don’t you know again?…you are the one scared we are not going to win this case and now Same You is being reluctant when there is a solution already..”
“You don’t understand”
“Make me understand ma’am” Annie crossed her hands on her chest.
“Chloe doesn’t know I am married talk less of…..him hitting me.”
“Camille, do you really care about that?”
I sighed. Chloe is Harry’s brother and he might know about everything but why do I even care?
He have made it known he don’t want to have anything to do with me.
“I don’t really know..” I said confusedly.
“Do you want to get rid of Asher or not?”
“Of course. You know I do”
“Then contact Chloe. Common, am sure she will understand and not judge you..”
“But it will look somehow. I mean, I ignored her calls and texts, now I need her help and wants to run to her. “ I retorted.
“You need to stop thinking about that and just contact her..”
“I will think about it” I mumbled.
Annie scoffed in annoyance. “Think? Really? Really camille. Then okay. Take your time!” She said and walked out of the kitchen in annoyance.
I sighed and rested my back on the kitchen counter. Annie is right. Chloe would help me. She got connections and money but that not the problem. I feel really ashamed facing Chloe and telling her everything.

During breakfast, Annie didn’t talk to me and kept her face on her phone. I tried opening my mouth to talk but closed it back and just let her be.
We finished breakfast and I took the plates to the kitchen. While washing them, I kept thinking about everything. Annie, Chloe and Asher.
What if Chloe judges me?
‘No, she can’t..Just tell her. She will support you” my subconscious said and I huffed.
I finished doing the dishes and I left the kitchen to the living room.
I sat on the couch and hugged my self, my heart heavy. Annie have retired to the room and only God knows what she is up to.

About 20 minutes later, Annie walked out all dressed up.
“Where are you going?” I inquired.
“Out” she simply said.
“Annie…are you mad at me?” I asked sadly.
“Of course not. If your choice. If you don’t want to contact Annie then it fine, I would get a lawyer okay?”
“But….”
“Don’t worry about it?” Annie retorted.
“So where are you off to?”
“I need to meet up with someone. Will be back in the evening.”
“Okay then. Bye” I said lightly and she nodded and left.

I kept glancing at my phone every minute contemplating whether to call Chloe or not.
The moment I try to, I will lose the courage to do so again.
I don’t know why it so hard.
“Are you been reluctant about this because of Harry,..?” My subconscious asked.
“No. No. Of course not” I answered a bit loudly. I must look ridiculous right now, talking to myself.
“So it about Harry. He made it clear he don’t want to have anything to do with you so what the deal?” My subconscious inquired, yet again.
“I told you it not about Harry. Get out of my head!” I screamed.
“Oh Common. Stop been rash. If it not about Harry then contact Chloe”
“I don’t know how to”
“Why is it so hard for you?”
“I don’t know” I groaned.
“And can you please stop talking to me. Thank you” I said to myself and picked the pillow beside me flinging it across the room frustratedly.
“I will just sleep and when I wake up, am going to call Chloe. Yes! That’s what am going to do” I assured myself and left for the bedroom.
Shutting out the everything, I laid on the bed and closed my eyes, falling asleep immediately.

I opened my eyes and stretch my body tiredly. I picked my phone and glanced at the time.
Cheese and crackers! It’s 4pm.
How the fk did I sleep for that long? I sat up on the bed and taking a deep breath, I decided to finally call Chloe.
I dialed her number and it rang but she didn’t pick. I tried the second time, same time.
Trying the second time, I played with my fingers, a part of me praying she doesn’t pick.
“Hello!” Her voice lapse me back into consciousness.
“Oh hey, Chloe” I said nervously.
“You called me today! Wow! I thought you didn’t want to talk to me when you refused to pick my calls nor reply my texts” Chloe said.
“Chloe, am so sorry. I didn’t do that on purpose. I was just caught up with somethings. So sorry”
“It fine. How are you doing?”
“Am fine…?” I said in a daze.
“Is something wrong? You don’t sound too good.”
“Am fine..I just called to check up on you” I hurriedly said losing the courage to say anything.
“Camille, are you sure? You can talk to me you know?”
“Okay. There is actually something I need your help with?”
“Okay. What’s that?”
“I need to see you, like psychically so we can talk”
“No problem. When are you free?” She asked.
“Anytime you are free” I replied.
“How about tomorrow? It sounds urgent.”
“Okay then. Will text you the address and I am coming with a friend. Hope you don’t mind?”
“Of course not. I will be thrilled to see her too.”
“Thanks a lot.”
“Uh? For?”
“For…never mind. I will text you..”
“Okay…” Chloe said slowly.
I cut the call and breath out. Well, that wasn’t so hard.
I was about dropping my phone when a message came in.
I clicked on it to read.
==(hi wifey, am so sorry about what happened and I know you hate me now but can you please find a place in your heart to forgive me?
I know I have not been the best husband to you but I promise to make it up to you please. You don’t have to take the case to court. Don’t waste your energy for nothing. Why don’t we meet up and talk things out like two adults.?—-)

Worry gnawed at me as I finished reading and almost immediately, the door to the room opened and I flinched. Annie’s face came into view and I quickly hid my phone behind my back while Annie looked at me confusedly.
