Episode 12
Desmond’s POV
” Everybody wait” I shouted and everyone stopped.
I turned my back at them so they won’t see me, and I act as if I saw something.
” what is it?” one of them asked.
” I think I heard something” I said then they all went to get their guns.
They moved closer to the forest to see if anyone is there but they couldn’t find anything.
” there’s no one here” another one said.
” I think we should not get carried away, cause someone might follow us here, especially when we almost got caught at the checkpoint ” I said due to what happened at the checkpoint.
” I think you’re right…….that officer almost caught us…..we should be careful” one of them said.
” yes I think so……and I think I heard gun shot a while ago” another one said.
” exactly……let’s be on the lookout today and make sure we are safe, then tomorrow we can do whatever the hell we want ” I said and they all agreed and I heaved a very deep breath.
The students quickly put on their school uniform to cover themselves and they held them in confinement.
I was very happy they believe cause if any of them tried to see my face, then things could get messy and the life of the kids might be in danger.
The reason they couldn’t recognize my voice is no other than because they are about 30 of them.
So there’s no way they could have guessed that I’m someone else due to my Voice.
Everyone is with his guns including me just to make sure no one is nearby, then the girls started serving them food.
One of them got to my side and as she got closer she saw my face and I knew immediately that she knew I’m not with them.
I nodded for her not to do anything crazy and she oblige and went on to serve the others.
As they all eat their food I follow suit and eat mine as well as to not draw attention to myself.
Some hours later, everyone has settled down and they are well relaxed after they’ve eaten.
Some were sleeping while some are still talking to each other, then I saw the young lady from earlier sitting on a stool.
I stood up and went to sit beside her, immediately I sat beside her I draw my gun and put it behind her back and she flinched.
” Don’t scream……don’t make a movement……just react normally” I said to her and she nodded.
” who have you told about me?” I asked.
” No one……i didn’t say anything to anyone” she replied.
” Are you sure cause if I learn you tell anyone, you will be the first to die” I said to her.
” I swear with my life……i didn’t say anything to anyone” she said again and I look around to make sure no one is looking at us.
” Good, now listen…….I’m a police officer and I’m here to save the girls” I said.
” Please save us too…….we want to get out of here…..we also want to go home” the girl pleaded.
” control yourself girl, or else that won’t be possible” I said and she nodded.
” Now tell me everything, about how you got here and everything about this people and what they do” I asked.
” me and the others were kidnapped five years ago” she said and I was surprised.
” you’ve been here for five years? ” I asked in disbelief.
” yes and we are more than this” she said.
” where are the rest?” I asked.
” dead, anyone that tried to escape were killed while the other commit suicide when they couldn’t bear it any longer” the girl said.
” oh my God, what is it that they do to you here?” I asked.
” they raped us everyday until we got pregnant, at first we thought the worst is over but immediate we gave birth they will continue to have sex with us until we became pregnant again” she said.
” oh God, what happens to the children?” I asked and she burst into tears.
” please don’t or else people will start noticing us” I said and she stopped.
” so tell me, what happened to the babies?” I asked.
” they killed them” she said and I was shocked.
” whaat” I said in a whisper.
” yes……you see that woman at the shrine” she said and I turned to the woman.
” she help us through the Labour and when the kids are born, they kill them” she said.
” why?…..why are they killing them?” I asked.
” they sold their body parts to some rich people, some business men, celebrities, senators, minister and some cleric and other people” she said again.
” they give them in the manner they want, sometimes they grind them in the mortal, sometimes they pieces them as if they were nothing” she said and I don’t know when tears started dropping from my eyes.
” I’m sorry you had to go through all this” I said to her.
” some of us couldn’t take it any longer then tried to run away but they were caught and killed, some even commit suicide as they couldn’t take it anymore” she said.
” If anyone of us couldn’t give birth again, they killed them” she said.
” I have given birth to eight children for the past five years, some of us even had twins and triplets” she said.
” oh my God” I exclaimed.
” please take us away from here……please save us……we are tired and we want to go back home” she pleaded.
” and I promise that you will…… Every last one of you ” I said.
” but are you sure, the rest of the girls will agree to this?…..is there anyone of them that might not want to escape?…..cause that alone might complicate everything” i asked.
” No sir, we all want to leave……We’ve even been planning on escaping from here…… there’s nothing to wait here for” she said.
” Good now listen, I need you to gather the rest and immediately you noticed everyone is asleep, go over to the confinement where they are holding the students, and be with them” I said.
” okay sir” she said.
” and make sure no one sees you, and make no sound” I warned.
” okay sir, but how do you intend to save us all by yourself?” she asked.
” you have nothing to worry about” I replied.
” another thing, this forest is strange…..the reason we can’t escape is because we can’t find our way out of here, and that was even in the daylight not to talk of midnight” she said.
” I’ve made plans for that as well” I said.
” one more thing, there are one other group, that went to get more girls” she said.
” really? ” I said.
” yes, they left two days” she said.
” okay then, I will know what to do about that but first we need to get you all out of here, tonight” I said.
” thank you sir” she said.
” don’t thank me yet…….let’s get out of here first” I said then left her side.

(Five hours later……Midnight)
Many of them are asleep while some are still up, I waited for the rest to sleep and it remain just one left.
Since I realised that he’s not sleeping anytime soon, I went into the forest as if I want to urinate.
Then I walked carefully behind him and I bring out my d@gger then move closer to him.
I sl1t his thr©at from behind and use my other hand to cover his mouth till he gave up the ghost.
I was about going to the girls and I saw that the priestess is still awake at the shrine doing whatever she’s doing for the past three hours.
I moved closer to her as well and she didn’t even make a move as she is far gone in the spiritual realm.
Then I sl1t her thr©at as well and covering her mouth with my other hand to prevent her from screaming.
I look back at the rest and see as they sleep soundly, how I wish I can just kill them all but I know it’s not possible without one of them waking.
I walked to where they keep their guns and took everything and throw it inside the forest but I take one with me.
Since the girls are my first priority I walked towards where they are kept, I unlocked the door and entered.
I ON the touchlight and the girls wake up immediately and I signalled for then to keep quiet.
Then I saw the girl I was dancing with earlier, she gave me back the gun I gave her.
” hold it with you….. You might need it” I said and she nodded.
” have you explained to them?” I asked her.
” yes I did” she said.
” Alright then……it’s time for us to go” I said then they all stood up to their feet.
” Where is Dolapo Johnson?” I asked and the inspector’s daughter came forward.
” it’s me” she said.
” Good…… Is everybody here?” I asked again.
” yes” the girl answered.
” Good follow me silently and please and please be careful, and watch you movement we don’t want to wake them” I said and they nodded.
I lead them out of the place and as we are going I saw the young lady from earlier with the rest and I signalled for them to follow us.
We made our way away from them and as we entered into the forest I saw one of the men urinating and everyone stopped.
I realized that he’s done already and I ran to him but he turned immediately and I stab him on the chest.
Instead of him going down he removed the dagger and punched me to the ground.
I tried to dodge most of his punch but I still got hit as he is stronger than me.
Then he grabbed me by the ne¢k and str@ngled me, I tried to fight him off but he’s not letting go as he held on my neck tight trying to drain every last breath in me.
I struggled for breath and I thought that’s where it all end then I heard a gunshot and the guy fell down dead.
I took a deep breath of fresh air and looked beside me and saw the girl I gave the gun.
” nice shot girl,……..nice shot” I said amidst breath.
I heard noise from where we are coming from which mean they woke up as they heard the gunshot.
” hurry up….let’s go, let’s go, let’s go” I said as I continue leading them while looking back to see if we are being followed.
Then after a while I started hearing gunshot and I wondered where they got the guns cause I threw them away.
” C’mon girls, they are coming” I said as we keep running and I turned back and shoot back at them.
As we are running one of student got hit on the leg and she fell, I told the rest to continue running then I carried the girl at my shoulder and run after them.
I know it’s only a matter of time before they got to us unless I do something about it.
” okay girls, change of plans…….i won’t be able to go with you but I will try to keep them away from you” I said.
” but we don’t know our way out of here” the girl said.
” listen……you see this white paint on the ground, that’s your way out…….Follow it… It will lead you to the main road, a bus is waiting for you” I said then gave them the touch light.
” be safe and don’t stop until you reach there, and also don’t wait for me……. Okay” I said.
” okay sir” they said.
” thank you” they said then one of young ladies helped the wounded one.
” Go go go go go ” I said then they started moving.
I move away from them then put a call through to the inspector and he picked immediately.
” sir” he said.
” are you there with the bus?” I asked.
” yes sir…… I’m still here” he said.
” good…..the girls are coming your way……immediately they all get there, leave immediately don’t wait up for me” I said.
” sir? ” he said.
” yes, don’t wait for me….. Leave immediately ” I said.
” okay sir” he said.
” what about the backup I asked for? ” I asked.
” sir, I did exactly as you asked and they told me they are on their way……i still haven’t seen them” he said.
” whaaat?…..” I said.
” I keep calling and they said they are on their way but I still haven’t seen them ” he said.
” it’s okay then……just take the girls out of here when they get to you” I said.
” okay sir, but what about you?” he asked.
” don’t worry, I can take care of myself” I said then end the call. I see them coming closer to me and I started shooting back at them, they also begin shooting at my direction. I run towards opposite direction trying to draw them away from the girl and it worked. I started getting closer to them and I targeted them one after the other killing three of them, the rest fire immediate at me. I dodged it and run away from there, I saw four of them closer to my position holding touchlight to look for me which only give me accurate confirmation of their position. I targeted them and shoot the four of them and they fell down dead, I run away from there as I noticed the rest coming over to the place. I keep running and shooting at them killing more and more of them then as I got closer to one of them.
I made to shoot at him and I realised that there’s no more bullet, the guy shoot at me and I tried to dodge it but I got hit on my arm and I fell down.
I quickly rolled away from there and use the trees for cover but he continue shooting.
There are only about ten of them left and then I continue moving away from them while holding my wounded arm.
I pull off my clothes and tied it on my hand to keep pressure on it, then I noticed a h©rrible smell.
It only took me a minute for me to realised that I’m standing on the disposed organs of the dead kids.
I tried to hold my breath as not to alert the guys, but I couldn’t hold it any longer which cause me to run away from there coughing as the smell is unbearable.

Author’s POV
The girls find their way out of the forest and they saw the bus on the main road just as Desmond said.
” Daddy” the inspector’s daughter came out and went to hug her father.
” Ohh…..thank God you’re safe ” the inspector said.
” uhmm…..sir, can we go now” one of the ladies said.
” uh….okay…enter….let’s go” the inspector said then the all trooped into the bus.
The inspector entered the bus and after all the student has entered he ignited the bus and drove them away.

It’s only a few hours till Dawn and Desmond decided to take on them one after the other.
He only have his d@gger with him then he noticed that they suddenly stopped shooting and they started running away as they thought Desmond is with a gun.
Then Desmond thought they must have run out of bullets then he ran after them.
As he was pursuing them he saw a gun from one of them men he killed then he picked it up and shoot at them.
He shoot at them one after the other until the last man, as he was about to shoot the last guy he ran out of bullet.
The guy saw this then he charged towards him, Desmond also dropped the gun and change towards him.
As Desmond throw a punch at him the guy dodged it and landed Desmond a heavy blow which sent him to the ground.
Desmond stood up immediately and charge at him again and as he throw every move he got at the guy.
The guy find a open spot then he punched Desmond again which sent him on the ground again.
Then Desmond bring out his dagger and charge at the guy, the guy try to dodge but Desmond cut him first.
As Desmond made to cut him again the guy grab hold of his hand and they fought for the dagger.
The guy is stronger than Desmond and as he turned the dagger towards Desmond and $tab him on the ¢hest.
” aaaahhhh” Desmond screamed then he kicked the guy hard at his balls which render him weak and groan in pain.
Desmond fought the pain as removed the d@gger from his ¢hest then he moved closer to the guy.
The guy saw him coming and he made to punch him but Desmond caught his hand then twist it back then break it.
” aaaahhhh” he screamed loudly then Desmond slit his throat.
Desmond was breathing heavily as the guy fell down dead then rain started falling heavily.
Desmond tried to get out of the forest as he looked for the paint as his way out of the forest but couldn’t find it as the rain has watched it off.
” OH OH”
