Desmond’s POV
(Two Days Later)
” Good morning Lagosians, my name is Olivia Daniels and I bring to you today’s news”
” ..we’ve got an update concerning the girls that are brought into custody about two days ago”
” Just yesterday we reported that about 43 girls and 8 boys were found nked underground in an abandoned warehouse”
” According to the police someone called them at night and told them about the gathering of female cultist in the underground……also known as the Daughters Of Jezebel”
” The police acted immediately and they went to the underground and found the girls lying nked on the ground unconscious”
” At first they thought the girls were dead but when they checked their pulses they realised that they are all still alive”
” They took them all away from the underground and took them to the hospital for treatment”
” Throughout the whole of yesterday the girls never woke up which cause people to be afraid but as at this morning they all woke up one after the other ”
” But that’s not the only weird thing that happened, cause all the girls and the boys all claimed not to have any idea of what happened to them”
” Not just that they all claimed not to know what they are doing in the underground and some things that happened few months back”
” The doctor immediately began test and he found the reason for that, According to the doctor he said they were all inject with drug which causes them to forget everything that happened to them and some things that happened for some months ago ”
” why would someone did that to them……could this be because they are cultist or there’s a clash between themselves”
” the police didn’t know who the unknown person is cause he didn’t give his name, but according to the police statement the man said he smoked them”
” but that doesn’t seems to be true cause few of the girls were shot, all in their leg…. it’s look like there’s a fighting down there”
” The police are still working on the case and to find more Clue, and the doctor are working to find if there’s any way they could bring back their memory…….this is all for today…..Olivia Daniels……PTV News” the newscasters concluded.

” do you think they could find the drug to bring back their memory?” I asked my sister as we all sat at the parlour.
” Nah, I made sure of that which is why I asked you to inject them at the back of their neck cause that works faster” she said.
” you’re the best sister” I said.
” Anything for my family ” she replied smiling.
” I was thinking maybe we should switch school for Grace, so she won’t get into any more mess” Mom said.
” No mom, if she do that they will know something is wrong, this is the time the police will be looking for their friends to collect information ” I said.
” the police will come to her and asked her some questions, all she need to do is convince them that she didn’t know they are cultist ” I said.
” if the students come to her give them the same reply and live your life and if you notice Any weird thing, don’t dally to tell me” I said.
” Okay brother” grace said.
” so when are you going back to your city? ” mom asked.
” I’ve been given a two weeks break at the precinct, coming here wasn’t planned…..but it seems I’ll have to spend my two weeks here” I said.
” that good, then we will have time to catch up” she said.
” Yeah ” I replied.
” okay guys, I’ve got to start preparation ” Vickie said standing up.
” preparation for what?” I asked.
” didn’t I tell you about the function we are having at the hospital” she said.
‘oh yeah, she did mentioned that’ I said to myself.
” right……you did and you are quite too excited to be going” I said.
” does that mean your guy is going to be there?” I asked.
” yeah…..maybe” she said.
” then I’m going…… I guess it’s time I meet this man you’re going crazy for” I said and everyone laughed.
” You will like him……. he’s nice” mom said.
” You’ve met him?” I asked.
” Yeah he came here few times….. he’s cute” she said.
” Those cute ones are always the Playboy” I said.
” Not this one” Vickie defended.
” Okay” I said.
” so you’re going? ” she asked.
” yeah……any problem? ” I asked.
” what about people seeing you?…….what if someone recognize you……you know you’re quite popular ” Vickie said.
” I’m going in disguise and no one will recognise me beside I think I’m only popular in Clifton and Hanford city” I said.
” okay then……you’re welcome to tag along” she said.
” but I have to go shopping cause I have no clothes to wear ” I said.
” okay then……you can take my car…..you have any cash?” she said.
” is that an insult?” I asked.
” Sis, do you even have to ask him…..he’s the famous MIA, an ASP for that matter…..don’t even compare your salary to his” Grace intervened.
” thank you grace” I said.
” I’m just asking” Vickie said.
” well you don’t have to” I said.
” fine…..do whatever you want” I said.

(Evening)
I’m in my room getting dress for the function at the hospital, earlier today I went to the boutique to get a tux and some other clothes.
I added some beard to my face as a disguise so people won’t recognize me easily.
After getting dressed I checked myself in the mirror and I can’t even remember the last time I dressed like this.
After adjusting my clothes on the went, I went out of my room to the parlour to where mom and Grace are sitting.
” how do I look? ” I asked.
” you look dashing, son……….you should dress often like this” my mom said.
” Mom……i can’t do that…..Unless you want me to be going to a party everyday ” I said.
” okay then…..but I think it’s time we get to know your girlfriend ” Mom said.
” girlfriend?……oh c’mon mom…..i don’t have time for all that” I said.
” and why is that?” she asked.
” my job don’t permit me to do all that” I said.
” which job……so a police officer don’t get to have girlfriend” mom said.
” mom that’s not what I mean, I’m too busy this days to make girls my number one concern…….i have alot on my plate already ” I said.
” you’re not getting any younger Desmond…….you have a job….you have money…..you’re handsome and all that……so what’s stopping you” she said.
” mom but you know what I do” I said.
” yes I know what you do……but you and I know that if you want to have a girlfriend…….you can make it happen” she said.
” fine mom……..i will see what I can do about that” I said.
” Good” she replied.
” the beard looks good on you” Grace said.
” you think? ”
” yeah, and I don’t think anyone would recognize you” she said.
” thanks……..and where is Vickie? ” I asked.
” she hasn’t come out” grace answered.
” Looks like we are going to wait all day for her, at least by the time she finish with her makeup…the party would’ve ended ” I said.
” I can hear that” Vickie said coming out of her room.
” well…….don’t you look stunning?” I asked rhetorically.
” thanks……..shall we? ” she said.
” yeah, see you later grace, Bye Mom ” I said as we head out.
” bye mom” Vickie said.
” Bye…..have fun” mom said then we head out of the house.
I got into the driver seat while she entered the passenger seat and I drove out of the compound.

Few minutes later I drove into the big hospital, I saw people trooping in, the security stopped us and immediately they saw Vickie they let us in.
I continue driving then Vickie directed me to a corner to park the car.
We got out and she lead me to the hall where the party will be taking place.
We entered and I see the place sparkling due to the decorations, I see people everywhere talking to each other, this reminds me of my graduation at the police college.
I’m the only one without family to congratulate me on that, well that’s because I don’t need all that….i have a mission then.
” remember, My name is Abigael not Vickie and you’re David……Right?” she reminded.
” yeah…..yeah……I totally forgot” I said as we made our way into the hall.
As we entered about five of Vickie’s friends came around and they greeted each other, while some of them were surprised to see me by her side.
I know they must thought I’m her new boyfriend, I have a feeling they knew who the guy is already, and the look they are giving her is for that of introduction.
” okay girls…….this is David Rolland…..my brother” Vickie introduced.
” Oh Really” they gasped in surprise.
” Abby…….you didn’t tell us you have a good looking brother” one of them asked smiling at me.
” you didn’t asked” Vickie answered and the girls introduced theirselves as Laura, Betty, Dorcas, Balikis and Aishat.
” Nice meeting you all” I said giving them a handshake one after the other.
The girls dragged Vickie away saying there’s something they need to do, so she left me and I sat in one of the tables.
Not long after Vickie came back and sat with me, and told me she went to clear some things.
” here’s what I don’t know……i thought all doctors do is to take care of patients, work in the hospital all day,…… what’s this party all about” I asked and she smiled.
” oh c’mon, you thought we doctors don’t have fun?……this is one celebration we hold every year for doctors…….we also get to have fun” she said.
” Oh okay”
” Oh he’s here” she said looking up.
” who’s here?” I asked.
” Simon, my boyfriend” she said gesturing towards his side and I saw the guy.
‘ Hmm……he’s cute..i will give him that” I thought.
” He’s cute but I’m cuter” I said smiling.
” in your dreams” she replied smiling.
” I need to tell you….he helped me with some formula for the amnesia drug” she said.
” Whaaaat…..you told him about that” I said.
” yeah…..I need an extra pair of eyes as it’s taking longer……..he’s also a doctor, a Surgeon actually” she said.
” what if he pulls the strings together and find out that the amnesia drug is the one we use for the cultist” I said.
” He can’t even if he does so be it……..Just so you know I’m thinking of telling him everything about our family” she said giving me another shocker.
” Whaat…..Are you crazy?..” I said shocked.
” Look desmond, he and I are building something great here in our relationship and I don’t want to put him in the dark” she said.
” what are talking about here Vickie?……can you even listen to yourself” I said.
” All I’m saying is I don’t want to build a relationship on a lie, if he finds out everything about me is a lie it might spoil everything ” she said.
” He will understand why you had to do that when he eventually finds out……why did he have to know about anything in the first place” I said.
” Don’t you listen to all have been saying…….He will think I don’t trust him enough to confide in him” she said.
” oh God……i can’t believe this” I sighed.
” you just have to trust him des” she said.
” well I don’t ” I replied.
” well then trust me” she said.
” look here Desmond, I love you and I will never let anything happen to you” she said.
” Do you trust him, do you know everything about him before you start blabing out our family secrets” I said.
” I know him Des, and I know he’s a good man, you have nothing to worry about, trust me” she said.
” Fine, do whatever you want…….i just hope you know what’s at stake here” I said.
” yeah I know” she said.
” Just so you know…….if anything happens to me through him…..it’s on you….. Just know that, I’m not doing this for my family alone” I said.
” I promise nothing will happen ” she replied.
” is there a problem here?” I look up and see the guy standing beside us.
” who wants to know?” i replied rudely.
” hi, my name is Simon Lewis” he said gesturing his hand for a handshake and I ignore it.
” sorry doesn’t ring a bell, so who are you and what do you want ” I replied and his countenance changed.
” I should be the one asking you that…….you’re with my girlfriend…..so who are you?…..c’mon Abby who the hell is he?” he asked facing my sister.
” calm down Simon…….he’s my… ”
” I’m her Boyfriend ” I interrupted before she could finish her statement.
” David” Vickie said raising her voice.
” oooops sorry ex boyfriend ” I said grinning.
” how dare you come Close to…….” he said as he tried to punch me as Vickie stopped him.
” Calm down big boy……you are creating a scene here, people are starting to notice you” I said.
” don’t you dare tell me to calm down” he said.
” Calm down Simon” Vickie said.
” woww…a violent one you got here, Abby…….look
s like he’s got some anger issue ” I said.
” shut Up……David” she said.
” please control yourself Simon” she said to him.
” how can you tell me to calm down…… When your………”
” My brother Simon, This is David Rolland, My Brother ” she said and I smiled with the look on his face cause it was priceless.
” Yo..your brother?…..the one you told me about?” he asked.
” yeah…..my troublesome brother, David”.
