Episode 39
Desmond’s POV
I don’t know why people are like this, they get their head round up in money and power.
” how did it go? ” Steve asked.
” he tried to deny it, and he’s calling again” I said as I saw his name on the incoming call then I cut the call.
” do you trust him? ” he asked.
” I don’t trust anyone but I’m trying to believe that he and I want the same thing in the system which is justice” I said.
” we don’t know who to trust bruh, especially in the system, all of them are the same” he said.
” but not someone like my father, he was killed because he wouldn’t do what they want ” I said.
” you told the man that I died in encounter……
why?” he asked.
” if they knew you’re alive, they will come for you………they will threaten you and make you do what don’t want to” I said.
” I guess you’re right” he said.
” are you still living with your family or anyone that might get worried about you?” I asked.
” My parent are not living around the city…..so i live alone but I do have a fiancee” he said.
” Fiancee?…..woww, I didn’t see that” I said amazed as he show me his engagement ring.
” yeah……we are about choosing our wedding date” he said.
” I’m happy for you but seriously, you have to call your fiancee and tell her all about this” I said.
” how do I even go with that?…..God, what have I gotten myself into?” he said.
” calm down Steve, did the agency know about your wife? ” I asked.
” No……..i don’t actually interact with any of them” he answered.
” then that’s good, you and your fiancee will have to travel very far where no one can recognize you and live your life” I said.
” what about you man?……don’t you think they will go after your family or your friends or people you care about” he said and I smiled.
” I’ve taken certain precautions, no one knows about my family, even me being agent blackbird only the DIG that I worked for knows about that” I said.
” woww, you’re smart dee…….you’ve planned everything perfectly ” he said.
” I can’t take any chances ” I said.
” so listen, I have a plane waiting for me at the airport, we can’t go together so you will have to find your way back……can you do that?” I said.
” of course I understand, I will be fine ” I said.
” Good, when you reach Nigeria don’t go back to your place…..you understand?” I said.
” Yeah I know” he replied.
” Good, now let’s rest……..tomorrow is another day ” I said then went to arrange my things back together.

(NEXT DAY)
I woke up very early for me to get back to Nigeria on time, I checked my time and see that it’s a few minutes after six.
I put on the other chef uniform and it cap then set my beard and mustache very well and set to go.
” Chef? ” he asked.
” yep…..i gotta disguise, it’s all part of the plan ” I said.
” you’re a genius man” he said and I smiled.
” so how long will it take you for you to get going?” I asked Steve.
” Everything will be set tomorrow” he replied.
” alright, I will have to pay the hotel one more day…….here have this with you, you’re going to need it more than I do” I said giving him some SA money.
” you’re a lifesaver man……..you’re the best friend anyone could ever wished for, even though I haven’t been done anything for you” he said.
” Heyy, you have no idea how much you’ve helped me……everything you taught me is one of the reason my family and I are still safe” I said and he smiled.
” really? ” he said.
” Yes, and I wish I could know more especially with that computer virus you talked about yesterday” I said.
” really?….umm, okay I will send everything to your email, the process and everything and some other tricks as well” he said.
” I trust you man……thank so much” I said pulling him for a hug.
” anything for you bruh ” he replied then we disengaged.
” I have to go now…….take care of yourself ” I said.
” you too” he replied then I went out.
I left the hotel and took a cab to the airport, on my way to the airport my phone started ringing.
I checked the caller ID and see that it’s the DIG, I first thought of ending the call then I decided to hear what he has to say.
” Hello” I said.
” Mike, why are you doing this? ” he asked.
” you know why, sir” I said.
” I told you I don’t know anything about it, I’m clueless” he said.
” but you all plan it together, how come you didn’t know?” I asked.
” that’s what I also want to find out which is why I called for a meeting today to ask them ” he said.
” fine, let’s say I believe you” I said.
” I will asked them what’s going on……and if it is as you said then I will report the issue to the IG” he said.
” fine……Go ahead” I said.
” I will get back to you ” he said then I ended the call.
After some minutes the taxi reached the airport and I paid the driver and went into the airport.
I head over to where the plane is waiting for me, I entered the plane and signal to the pilot then he took off.

(Six Hours Later)
LOCATION : Hanford, NIGERIA
The plane landed some hours later I and went out of the airport, I took a cab straight to Shamla province and head to my house.
I entered my house and drop my things on the couch while I head to the bathroom to have my bath.
I removed the beard and mustache then get myself cleaned up, after then I changed into a comfy clothes.
I head to the parlor to fix something for myself to eat.

Author’s POV
LOCATION: FIIB facility, Abuja.
DIG Martins was waiting for the rest of the DIGs at the conference room, and one after the other they all turn up and they begin the meeting.
” Martins, have your heard from your Agent?……what’s his status?” DIG Peters asked.
” Yes he made contact…….so tell me did anyone of you know what’s inside the container?” I asked.
” what are you talking about?……we said no one does” DIG Williams said.
” Stop lying to me, all of you……if you don’t know what it is so then tell me who sent it to Nigeria?…..how do you know it belongs to us?” DIG Martins asked and they looked at each other.
” I guess that means your agent retrieved the file and you already know what’s inside the container ” DIG Peters said then he called someone on phone.
” you all knew about it and keep it away from me and the IG? ” DIG Martins said in disbelief.
” we knew the kind of person you’re and you will try to stop us from getting what we want” DIG Aliyu said.
” if not that you have an agent that we need, you wouldn’t have know about it ” DIG Peters said.
” you all are rotten with corruption, I will never let you get away with any of these, the IG must be know about this” DIG Martins said.
” you will do no such thing? ” DIG Peters said then pointed a gun at him.
” you will shoot me here where there are many agents………are you that Daft?” DIG Martins said.
” oh about that I call someone to vacate all the agents in this building, so no one is here except us” DIG peters said.
” I don’t care if you kill me, but you should know if I die the IG will want to know how exactly it happened and I’m very sure some people will put some things together ” DIG Martins said.
” oh know we won’t kill you…….I knew you’re going to say that which is why I’ve taken certain precautions” DIG Martins said.
” what are you talking about?” DIG Martins asked confusedly.
” your wife and little daughter are on their way back to the country today, isn’t it? ” DIG Peters said and his eyes bulged out.
” Don’t you dare bring my family into this…….don’t you dare” DIG Martins shouted.
” My agents are at the airport, they will pick them up and await my instructions, so that means their life is in my hands ” he said and DIG Martins was fuming angrily.
” I will kill you all” he said angrily.
” No you won’t, if you care about your family you will do whatever we say or you and your family will never know peace” DIG Peters said.
” so tell me, where is the file?” he asked.
” I don’t know” DIG Martins answered.
” you’re not taking me seriously” DIG Peters said then he dialled someone’s number.
” hello” DIG Peters said.
” hello Sir, they just arrived” the agent said.
” I need proof, send it now and continue as discussed” DIG Peters said.
” Okay sir” the agent said then ended the call.
” I see you need something to motivate you” DIG Peters said then his phone made a notification chime.
” oh here it is” he said then show him the picture of his wife and daughter entering the car.
” you Monster ” DIG Martins shouted.
” just answer my questions and they will be safe……..you have my word” he said.
” so tell me, where is the file?” DIG asked.
” it’s….it’s with agent blackbird ” he said reluctantly.
” Agent blackbird…….okay then, who is agent blackbird and where can we find him?” he asked and DIG martins refuse to answer.
” you’re tempting me, Martins” he said.
” just answer him Martins, don’t put your family in danger all because of one man” DIG Elliot said.
” it’s…..it’s……it’s MIA” he said finally and they are all surprised.
” MIA ” they all said in unison.
” you mean the officer, MIA? ” DIG Peters said.
” who would have thought it will be someone like that” DIG Aliyu said.
” I knew the guy is skillful, how I wish we don’t have to kill him, but he knows too much already, we can’t risk that” DIG Peters said.
” and you think any of you have what it takes to kill him” DIG Martins said and DIG peters smiled.
” I like your confidence in him but sorry to disappoint you, we don’t get our hands dirty, we are sending our best agents after him” he said.
” you still don’t get it………he single-handedly killed 50 thugs, he entered a ritualist forest and massacre them all…….. do you think your agents stand a chance against him” DIG Martins said confidently.
” No Martins, you don’t get it…….we are not sending thugs, or a mere agent, we are sending a group of special Agent and we are sending 6 units of them ”
” each unit consist of 12 special agents, now tell me how is he going to take down 72 highly trained and deadly agents all by himself ” DIG Peters said grinning.
” I heard he was half dead when he fought against fifty thugs, now tell me how is he going to survive this?”
” you’re not leaving this place until the mission is successful, now tell me how is he going to do it when he’s not even prepared, he will be caught unprepared” DIG peters said.
” he will be dead in no time…..it will be swift and smooth, He won’t even feel any pain…..unless he’s not human ” DIG Peters said.
” well in that case let me advice you……..if you want to kill him make sure you do”
” cause if you fail to do so,….you will hate yourself, all of you………you won’t even see him coming ” DIG martins said.
” enough of all that ,……just one more question………WHERE DOES HE LIVE?”
